Hinamatsuri (TV)

Hinamatsuri is an outstanding masterpiece of situational humour and a brilliant commentary on social behavior.

There are no jokes in this show, it's all about context. With an unrealistic premise of telekinetic girls appearing out of nowhere, a wholesome yakuza and a middle schooler working in the most bizarre positions we follow each distinct personality as they respond to these situations, in the most humane ways.

What I also found particularly great about this show was the fact that every single character does exactly the opposite of what is expected of them by their premises and yet feels uniquely authentic to their new inserted contexts based on ... their personalities. This expectation x behavior is something that it's constantly addressed throughout the series and by different characters.

I can't remember the last time I felt pain from laughing so much.

After finishing the first season I was quite sad to find out that a second season is yet to be confirmed. I'll definitely read the manga (now completed), but it's impossible not to get attached to the incredible job that the animation studio, voice actors and production have achieved with this story.

Quick Thoughts:
Hinamatsuri had some funny moments, but it was underwhelming overall.

Story:
There's some continuity between episodes, but the series is generally episodic. The POV switches between several characters: mainly Hina, her friends, and her caretaker Nitta. I thought this format worked well since Hina was too one-dimensional to be the primary focus. Most of the scenarios were pretty typical for this kind of comedy, but I did find Anzu's episodes pretty unique in that they covered topics like homelessness, frugalness, and morals from a different perspective. As far as genres, I'd say Hinamatsuri was mostly comedy and SoL, but there were some attempts at tear jerking ... or heartwarming moments. One of the main issues I had was that a lot of exposition felt pointless. You could take away the yakuza and alien/supernatural elements without changing the story much.

Art/Sound:
I found art-style and animation appealing overall. I thought some of faces (Hina and friends) looked samey, but character designs were fine. Backgrounds were good, and I don't remember any animation issues. With the voice acting, it wasn't exactly a star-studded cast but I think they got the job done.

Character:
The characters were hit-or-miss for me. They were ok when it came to their comedic roles, but there's not enough depth behind them for the more sentimental moments to land. A large part of this is how their backgrounds hardly mattered within the context of the story. Hina is introduced with having powers that must be frequently to prevent it from building up and losing control, yet they're hardly relevant outside of of the first few episodes. Nitta's yakuza isn't used for much more than a couple jokes and an explanation for his income. Anzu is one of the only characters with development, but that 'development' just turns her into a completely different character over just a couple episodes. I found Hitomi to be the most likable of cast, but she got the least screen time among the main cast.

Enjoyment:
I think a large part of the enjoyment is how likeable/relatable you find the characters, because there's not much else really going on in this anime.

I dropped it once and gave it a 5. I thought it just wasn't interesting.

Then I decided to give it another try and was even more disappointed.

What really bothers me is that the story is nonconsequential. Anything could happen (you have 2 girls with superpowers to begin with), but only something does, and in the next episode half of it is forgotten. Characters disappear, on to the next (forced) joke.

Superpowers. Hina has to use them because if she doesn't, it could get out of control. Anzu has similar powers, but doesn't have the same problem. Anyway, don't worry, neither Hina nor Anzu will use any ... of their powers after the first few episodes.

The story doesn't follow a path, but just goes from A to B, then forgets about half of that, starts again at some point between A and B, and proceeds in a whole different direction for some time.

Character development seems to be random. As if the author had no long-term plan for the development, and just hrew in some new element along the way to see if it sticks. Any long-running show can have this problem, but we are talking about a single 12-episodes season.

I had to watch it until the end thinking "there is no way it can get worse than this". But it regularly did. The only good point is that it's quite original, but that's it.

This show has many great characters... too bad Hina isn't one of them. I put that in quotes as shes about half the focus the other half being put mainly on two of three other girls. Which is sad as this anime has so many amazing characters and the one that is the shows namesake pales in comparison to the writing and development of the others, even one that only shows in two episodes is better built.

The story is well written and all characters save Hina have good development and many humorous situations. There are situations shes ... in that are humorous but it felt that it was despite her not due to her. save for one that does happen later with the box.

The art in this anime is great but not groundbreaking, the use of still shots and their timing adds well to the humor aspect of the show. The music was well placed and fit the OP and EC.

Ultimately I highly recommend the show to anyone who is a fan of Slice of life and comedy, and am hoping that this will see a second season as where they left off begs for it and the opportunity to see Hina develop would be great.

If someone were to show the royal court who did not know anything about Hinamatsuri the first episode of the anime, and then proceed to claim that it was one of the most emotional shows of the season that person would likely be crowned the new crown fool and forced to perform parlor tricks for the rest of their lives. Well give me a jingly hat and some silly shoes, because one particular characters arc stood far above ... any emotional impact seasonal competitors like Darling in the Franxx had to offer.

The shows plot is loosely centered around young Yakuza member Nitta and his miraculous encounter with Hina a girl of unknown origin and magical powers.

The show is first and foremost a comedy show and it gets a solid A+ in this regard. The gags mostly come from subverted expecations of a scene's outcome and recurring gags such as Nitta's unamused and defeated faces or Hitomi's inability to say no to people.

The shows OP and ED didn't particularly capture me, and although the soundtrack did well to fit the mood; the circumstances of characters are what made most scenes have an impact or entertaining.

A minor complaint I may have would be that either the show is very faithful to the source material (which I have no idea if it is or not) or it was clearly made with a constrained budget. The show LOOKS great visually with use of low quality CG being a rarity rather than the norm but the show had a very common occurrence of reusing faces, poses and animations. Often I felt this was for comedic effect but the more I saw the same shocked, wide eyed tongue out expression the more the industry savvy part of my mind whispered "did they use this gag to pad out time or cut cost on frames?".

Overall Hinamatsuri provides a comedic experience that will literally have you shedding tears of laughter and tears of sorrow in the same episode. I eagerly await the second season.

"How often in life do you get angry at balls" (Episode 8)

Let's get down to business. You're either utterly disappointed by this season or super hyped about SG0. Well let's just say if you are planning on losing any more hope for this season, fear not, this is an anime that well deserves your attention. Let's get to it.

So why should you watch it. Firstly, memorability. I remember this anime. It stands out as something that isn't just a bunch of students dicking about. Studio Feels delivered the damn feels. Anzu may not have the layering and depth of clannad but it's there. A slice ... of life, comedy anime that actually has sad scenes. It's just unexpected. Asides the feels, I noticed how it doesn't just cover school scenes, in fact there's an oddly lack of school scenes, mostly circulating around bars, yakuza office, your local strip club. Totally refreshing to know that japan isn't just a bunch of classrooms connected to each other.

Secondly, lovable characters. They are all lovable. All of them. They are like the opposite of Darling in the franxx. Completely. I would write a love letter to Studio feels for this. The sort of emotional bond between me and basically any character, even side characters are great for 12 episodes. There's not a lot of standout which means there's a lot of interaction between the main and side characters, not just the "I'm the only guy in Japan" syndrome. Awesome. And the main characters just bond so damn well that I feel emotionally attached and want to watch it. All well scripted, all fit in perfectly, all of them are awesome.

Third, execution. This series has everything well laid out. Everything from how Hina responds to how bad dad Nitta thinking that bringing a kid to a strip club is a good idea. It's just clever as the jokes made are of similar style but not the same. Jokes are rarely if ever repeated, they are just made in a manner that fits a characters style. That's comedy right there. This doesn't have the funniest jokes, but it just fits in so well to a character's style that it's automatically funny. It doesn't feel too forced but rather a balance of crudeness and idiocy.

Anything bad? Not much.

Artwork is fine i guess. The only issue I may have is that the colors seem a bit muted and there's less glow to it compared to even last years anime. Maybe you dig it maybe not, just look it up.

Audio is fine i guess. I did a sample on a pair of borrowed Stax and while sound quality isn't quite violet evergarden mind blowing, it's definitely not horrible. Right down the middle. Not very open, not a lot of background liveliness, but voice actors are doing ok. Dub is fine i guess, just as equally weird as every other anime.

As an anime, I think in this particular genre, it probably blows away most of your average comedy series of course. Sure maybe it won't beat Gintama despite their similarities, Gintama has that extra bit of depth and arguably more cruder in jokes and sure maybe it won't beat Nichijou in terms of sheer explosiveness and unexpectedness, but it gets darn close. Just right behind them and arguably matching kobayashi dragon maid which btw is also great comedy slice of life.

This is basically what the ideal comedy slice of life series looks like. Just stop whatever comedy series you are watching, just watch this.

Hinamatsuri is a kind of slice of life with different types of characters. First of all, they introduce girls with superpowers and a yakuza, making you think what we can expect from that.

The story doesn't progress so much, with the character development being the main focus. That's why while I put only 6/10 for the story, i can easily put a 10/10 for all characters, since almost everyone in this series has a different way of living and have to deal with things in a sufficiently realistic way.

So... Since the character development is great enough to enjoy this series, why 8/10 overall? Just because ... the series are becoming very standard and are abandoning the idea of superpowers, yakuza and etc that they shown at beginning. I dunno if i can expect that they do any story progression so we can know something about where Hina and Anzu are from and what they can show about Nitta's yakuza life since they suddenly stopped focusing on that, and now it seems like they doesn't have anything to worry about besides family problems. They have to rush fast enough to do it in 12 episodes.

"Watashi no Suma tofon gaaaaa!!!", that lads, is how you sell your anime on the first episode. It wasn't merely for the simple yet humorously comical script, but for the nuances in the animation that was really well executed.

Hinamatsuri isn't just an anime for the sake of stupid comedic acts, it actually explores a broader spectrum of aspects in life which masterfully blends and delivers emotions to the viewers perfectly-- it is the very epitome of slice of life. One moment you burst into laughter, and the other moment you suddenly have your dry eyes from watching too much anime refreshed with tears.

The characters ... are very well defined and they actually mature over time after various situations befall upon them. It truly succeeds in delivering warmth and at the same time, punchlines that are never the same as the usual comedic trope of as any other supernatural comedy anime.

Easily deserves a score north of 8. Considering the reviews of other MAL users, the manga is critically acclaimed, so it's not surprising that with consistency, this anime would be just as good if not better than Gintama.

Give it a try, and you'll love it for sure.

The one quality that pulled me in to the world of anime is the fact that there are countless genre to get yourself mixed in, with limitless potential in storytelling, whether that story is linear or just slice-of-life with no stakes or goals in mind. In the case of slice-of-life animes, they have to deliver a specific quality that can portray an anime that almost only resembles daily life in reality while still finding ways to be fun and compelling. This anime, Hinamatsuri, is absolutely a well-done anime in that genre.

The premise, as far as most animes can go, is just one of ... the most normal that you can find while still keeping a creative twist on it. Try to think of it as a mix of Higehiro and Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting. What makes an anime fun for all of us really depends on how we see what is quality, and they are all entire subjective. For me, it's the fact that I can enjoy it all the way through without a drop in quality.

In this anime, you've got a cast of characters that are absolutely fun and comical to watch. Protagonist forces himself to take care of our young and adorable character Hina who is absolutely spoiled and doesn't know how to behave herself in normal human society. We've also got best-girl Anzu, who is very alike with Hina in terms of personality at first, but goes through a complete 180 after experiencing the homeless life.

The characters are absolutely fun to watch. The story, while lacking mostly in stakes or any end goals, is still compelling due to the various antics and mysterious history that surrounds our characters.

Technical-wise, there's nothing wrong with it either. A pretty good OP song, animation that is pretty good for a SoL anime, and quality that doesn't dip throughout its run.

Absolutely recommended. You won't forget it. It works best as a "palate-cleanser" anime after watching the more dark side genres of anime.

I generally rate high, and give more importance to ease of reading and enjoyment rather than using rocket science language to make an actually meaningless review sound superior. This is an anime review, for god's sake.

Hinamatsuri is one of my 10 favourite anime of all time and I wish it was more popular. The comedic timing is perfect and the gags are brilliant. I don't think I've enjoyed a comedy anime this much since the peak episodes of gintama. The only anime that I know of that can rival this one in comedy is love is war, but that anime is WAAAY more popular.

Story: ... 8/10. It's a good balance between being episodic and a continuous story. It's pretty much a reverse isekai with every point set up to be exaggerated for a comedic effect. Take nichijou for example. Except, I laughed more within 3 episodes of hinamatsuri than I did for the entirety of nichijou.

Art: 10/10. No comedy anime has any reason to look this good. The art style itself is normal, the art is well done, and the animation is super smooth with plenty of sakuga.

Sound: 8/10. There aren't any tracks that stand out, but its overall very well done. Also there are some gags in the op and ed where particular characters are removed accordingly with the story which is hilarious.

Characters: 10/10. oH! YoU rAtEd 10/10 FoR cHarCtErS eVeN tHoUgH tHeY aRe GenErIc aND hAvE nO deveLoPmenT? Seriously though. I love the characters in this anime. That's right, I even Love Hina. Her "done with life voice" is hilarious.

Enjoyment: 10/10. I absolutely loved every single episode of this show. I love good animation and a well executed comedic plot and this has both. I'd say it's at the same level as kaguya sama: love is war. It's easily superior to the likes of nichijou and asobi asobase and even better than konosuba.

Hinamatsuri is the kind of anime for which you rate 5/5 for every single episode and then give an overall rating of... 7/10? 8/10? Why? Is it solely because its a comedy anime? Honestly I enjoyed 12 episodes of this anime more than I enjoyed the boring 74 episodes of monster. Ofcourse, monster is a great anime superior to most others, and I'm in no way saying that this type of a comedy anime is better than monster. _or am I?_

Anywho, if this type of humor clicks with you then you'll thoroughly enjoy it. The comedy isnt as well thought out as that in love is war but it isn't as retarded and cringy as in asobi asobase either. It's perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

This world takes us all for a spin, regardless of age, size, thoughts or feelings everyone takes this ride. Who knows at what time or what situation there is going to be a naked girl in a metal container to appear out of thin air! That's right, we don't know, and neither did Nitta.

Hinamatsuri is not just your average slice of life nor your lets go boom boom Jujutsu Kaisen. its something we see all the time, just people living their lives. Sometimes we go down with a little girl bringing destruction to our building, sometimes we go up by the same little girl laughing ... over food, cry with it or laugh with it, folks we got a good one here!

Not always one can write a plot which follows the story, builds character, shows its funny humor and makes you cry, however seldom we get these shows that follow a certain type of style and environment in a way that might not captivate all but it will do justice in its own category. Hinamatsuri has rules, build character, make the world, find a great story with the setup and go at it!

Hinamatsuri is a fantastic experience. The whole notion of this yakuza member taking care of this child that fell literally from the sky out of nowhere is extremely comedic. That's all I was expecting. I was really surprised by how enthralling the story line was. It was simple, yet done in this tasteful way, which, is mostly owed to the plethora of lovable characters. This is really a heart-warming journey, the character development is so satisfying. I do hope this gets a second season. I could not have picked a better anime to get me out of my slump. This anime is the type that ... gives you all those nice warm fuzzy feelings inside (not THOSE feelings ya perv). It's the kind that makes me appreciate everything I have so much more.

So personally I never would have watched this, my preference is more towards things like 'One Punch Man', 'Hunter X Hunter', and 'Fullmetal Alchemist', you know the 'Pop' of anime. But I saw the first episode and went 'Ok, I'm interested', and as I progressed realized this was no 'Mob Psycho 100' but a whole different beast. Please put whatever your currently watching aside and watch this instead, you won't regret it.

Hinamatsuri is a Masterpiece, though hard to put into words it has now become my standard for excellent story telling and comedic timing. It has redefines what one should expect from a comedy, or ... slice of life.

Hinamatsuri doesn't push any agenda instead just lets the story unfold in a way that is not profound or unexpected. It gives you time to take in the view and then punches you with the hilarity of the situation. It's natural comedy not derived from some back end joke we don't all understand.

The characters, what Hinamatsuri does best is develop the side characters beyond what is expected. They have lives they have emotions and you understand who they are as people. It's unexpected and refreshing to know that these people have lives to and aren't just bartender A, lacky B, and hobo C.

Hinamatsuri is one of the funniest animes I've seen in years. Even the premise of the anime was a joke, because it's supposed to be about super powered girls getting involved with the Yakuza, but there are barely any Yakuza activities or superpowers being used outside of the first two episodes. It's basically just the bunch of them hanging out around bars and going out to eat, with the exception of Anzu.

Regardless of a lack of superpower use or Yakuza violence, the anime is one of the most entertaining of the season and has one of the most lovable casts ... in I've seen in a while, especially Hina, Anzu and Hitomi, with Hitomi being my personal favorite. There are moments of comedy in here that I will never forget, but don't want to spoil it. You will definitely crack up hard on every episode.

My only complaint, and what kept this from being an all-time favorite was a weak final episode in the mountains. It just kind of fell flat for such a terrific anime. Also, I feel like they kind of missed an opportunity by not having more action, solely because the fight scene at the very start of the anime shows that if they did have more fighting, the fights would be very well animated. But, that's not really what this anime is about. It's more about the trials of parenting and experiencing life. Especially with Anzu. I really liked the homeless angle they had there with her. It made you root for her very similarly to Honda Tooru from Fruit Baskets.

Overall, this was a surprisingly good anime. And I only have one thing to say: "Not cool.". I will remember that for a long time.

- Finally my review of Hinamatsuri, starting with the story that is simply one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen, the story is completely in the sense, though the story also discusses various elements of Slice of Life in addition to showing several interesting situations always with some message to pass; I will admit that I liked the first part of the anime, not that the second part is bad, but in the first 6 episodes there are better moments directed, but overall Hinamatsuri has a good story.

- On the other hand, Studio Feel. did a spectacular job in Hinamatsuri, the scenes ... are colorful and detailed, plus a great animation and best of all is that the technical part keeps good from beginning to end of the anime, of course have a little problem here and there, but in General Hinamatsuri gives a show in question of technical part, taking into account that it is a comedy anime and slice of life; now the soundtrack is good but could have been a little better; already the direction, undoubtedly one of the strongest strengths of Hinamatsuri, the direction is simply excellent, can perfectly create great scenes, be they comedy scenes or more emotional scenes.

- Now about the characters, this is another point that Hinamatsuri stands out, the cast is extremely charismatic, a more funny (and bizarre) character than the other, all with their own personalities and a good development; Anyway, all I can say about the characters is that they are simply excellent and very funny.

- Conclusion, Hinamatsuri is undoubtedly the best comedy anime of the spring season 2018; the anime has a dazzling technical part, plus a bizarre but interesting story, and of course a great cast of characters; Hinamatsuri is one of my favorite anime's of the spring season 2018, but it's also one of the best comedy anime I've ever seen so far, no doubt I recommend Hinamatsuri, a simply spectacular anime !! 💙😊💛 !!

Spring 2018 was a pretty strong season, having heavy sequels like My Hero Academia and Steins;Gate 0 and having great original anime like Megalo Box and Love is Hard for Otaku. It was pretty hard to stand out this season, but Hinamatsuri did it by not having a original premise, but just by being damn good. Grab your guns and work your ass off, this is my review of Hinamatsuri.

Story: 8/10
Hina falls with its... spaceship or whatever in Nitta's home. Now Nitta has to care for Hina so that she doesn't go on a big rampage. This causes a ... strange life for Nitta, only making it stranger when other characters from space come to earth, like Anzu. Not much to say about the plot: It's solid.

Art: 9/10
Holy hell the animation is amazing. The character movements are fluid, the facial expressions are amazing and the action scenes are great to watch. This is a joy to watch with my eyes.

Sound: 9/10
The OST is also really damn strong. The OP and ED are fantastic and the rest of the OST is atmospheric ans also great to listen to. If it weren't for Megalo Box this would've been my favorite OST of this season.

The quality continues with its strong characters. You have Hina, a space loli who doesn't give a shit about anything other then food, Nitta, a yakuza who is just a good guy, Hitomi, a hard working girl who can't say no, and my favorite character, Anzu. She starts of bratty and wants to work alone, but she quickly grows into one of the purest characters I have ever seen. She is so sweet that her smile can already cause diabetes. A really strong cast overal.

I already knew from the start that this was going to be the comedy of the season. The facial expressions make the jokes tons and tons more better and that is saying a lot because the humor itself is already really strong. This anime is also pretty emotional and handles its sad scenes really good. I especially loved the Anzu scenes. Goddamn it almost made me cry.

This anime is not only a contender of aots, but also as aoty. It is a mutch watch. You will laugh, you will cry, but you will mostly laugh.

I have just started watching Hinamatsuri and it's incredibly entertaining. This show epitomizes every thing I love about anime. Its has a wonderful quality of being both surreal and very familiar at the same time. As the father of a precocious teenage girl with a taste for expensive sushi I sympathize with the gangster's fate completely. This show beautifully captures something very elusive about the relationship between fathers and their daughters.
As the series progresses the supporting cast becomes more important and their individual character arcs are very well developed. Anzu in particular enjoys (if that's the right word) an almost miraculous, but ... at the same time entirely plausible transformation.

Hey, my 100th review! :D

Hinamatsuri was a unique and refreshing experience for me. After reading loads of reviews all saying that the show is hilarious and then watching the first episode and wondering if I accidentally put in the wrong blu ray, as I laughed literally zero times, I really thought I'd started something I simply wasn't going to like. I stuck it out and watched the second episode and it had me in stitches. Here's where it gets really interesting though... This pattern continued throughout the entire anime. One episode would contain little or zero comedy whatsoever and I wouldn't even chuckle, nevermind laugh, ... but then the next episode I'd be choking on my laughter. The weirdest part is, this is not because the show is inconsistent in the quality of its jokes or anything like that. This is a CONSCIOUS DESIGN DECISION, and that will be the primary focus point of my review.

Comedy + emotionally affecting content being blended together isn't new, nor is it a genre I dislike. Take Kanon and Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, for example, and check out my anime list. I gave them both a 10! I definitely have no qualms with the mixing of the genres, but in this specific case I dislike the way they went about it. I really enjoyed the comedy elements of the show, often laughed and thought the scenarios were unique and witty, but I felt that I was watching a comedy show only half the time. The episodes without the laughs, while still cute (as the entire show is), simply weren't as enjoyable. I don't understand why they opted to make half the episodes funny and half the episodes emotional and serious, but I think the show is worse off for it and I'd have much preferred they simply blend the two and keep the comedy going throughout.

In the English dub the ever-reliable Brina Palencia nails her role as the monotone, socially unaware, disinterested titular character and for the male lead it was nice to hear a newer voice as opposed to one of the five male voice actors that seem to take up every single role at Funimation. The animation quality, with this being a new and modern anime, was also what you'd expect. I'd say the part of the presentation that was least exciting to me has to be the music. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but I found it generic and forgettable and even just half a day after finishing the series there isn't any song that remotely stands out as memorable for me.

Overall, this show is really unique and cute and it will definitely provide more than a few laughs, but it won't do it as consistently as I would have liked thanks to a strange design choice. Nevertheless, as reflected in my score I definitely enjoyed this and am glad I watched it and I'd happily watch a second season, since this season has nothing close to a proper ending and does not resolve its bigger picture plot whatsoever, should such a thing ever come to fruition.

When i watched the first episode of Hinamatsuri i was walking in the street with a stupid smile in my face as this surprised me like only a handful of shows can. The first episode was a good introduction to what would the series be but it was only the tip of the iceberg as it ended up being a complete experience.

This is a comedy and a good comedy know how and when to make you laugh and enjoy the jokes and the way it plays with it's characters, Hinamatsuri takes this to a whole other level as it does an almost perfect combination of ... pace, jokes, hilarious moments and inspiration. This isn't a simple comedy althought, this has the comolete package and the prime examole for it will forever be episode 6 as it will forever be cherished in my memory.

It's fantasy part is only a minor part in the story aside from being the reason behind Anzu and Hina being able to come to this world but it is visually beautiful and let's a great impression in the spectators.

The music was great as i liked both the Opening that it's titled Distance and was a great work to help rise the amvient mood in order to watch every episode as high on it as we possibly can and the Ending as they were a piece of art, it had two endings the first one called Sake to Ikura to 893 to Musume and the second one titled Shashinchou and directed by Yoko Ishida. Every single song had a feeling attached to them and were as beautifully done as humanly possible.

Yoshifumi Nitta is an emerging yakuza that cares about his family but doesn't want to live that life as he feels uneasy when he has to do one of the encommended jobs but one typical day as he is casually drinking a glass of wine a capsule appears through the roof of his house making him throw the wine in his face with a surprised face, inside the capsule is Hina a girl who will change his life.

Hina is the protagonist of Hinamtsuri, she is from an advanced civilization with tecnology way ahead of human comprehension, the civilization that she is from still call themselves as human eventhough they have extra skills like "telekinesis" that they use to their advantage in their everyday life. Her personality is simple and some may call it even annoying because she doesn't that deepness of other characters but that's what also make her be Hina.

Anzu is from the same civilization as Hina and have the exact same powers althought not at the same level, she comes to this world with a mission to find Hina and complete a task encommended to her by her superior but she fails to beat Hina in a duel and decides to stay in this world. I loved how deep was Anzu's character and how she was in the middle of almost every emotional moment. The bond she created with the homeless comunity will forever be in their hearts, also how she adapted to living with her foster-parents, she was like a favorite daughter should be.

Hitomi is a highschool student that is responsible in every task she might have and the most hardworker girl in the show, she in a certain day is forced to work as a bartender in a bar as the owner of the bar saw her talent and later she resolves in every possible job she might have it could be firefighter, Mistress or officer althought at the end she had to stay with only one job because the weitgh of having so many jobs at the same time was too much. She is a prime example of how a woman needs to work hard to suceed in today's proffesional world.

The characters are so beautifully done, each one with it's own background, motivation and mission that anyone can feel identified with them.

The things i liked the most of Hinamatsuri series was how well it took care of it's characters and how well-developed they were. The relationshio between Hina and Nitta that was as clean as a daughter-father relationshio should be and how determined and efficient it was in the moments it intended to be comic and in the moment it intended to be emotional.

It isn't as dark to call it a dark series.

It isn't a simple comedy.

It is a well-done work of love towards us and all people that enjoy anime around the world.

Best point: It's hilarious moments. Like, I don't normally laugh with anime and I more often than not really appreciated the humour. There were obviously some jokes than didn't land at all, but the vast amount that do make up for it.

Great point: The characters are really good characters. Girls actually seem like girls and not made to cater to the audience. You won't really hate anyone and only get slightly annoyed by some moments, but just to the extent of rolling your eyes fondly. Nice character development, will actually get attached to some of them and root for many.

Good point: Story is slice of ... life so that's that. It doesn't drag on for the most part (looking at you last episode) and snippets of the character's life can range from hilarious to heartfelt.

Bad points: Mediocre art and sound.
