-Both Original ONA's by BONES -Both have the same series composer according to MAL -Both have SCI-FI foreign matter or aliens that are connected to the main MC -Both have a secondary MC more familiar with these matter or Aliens Honestly they're almost the same show. However, I feel like Xam'd had a better cast of characters, better music (Although the OST for AICO is good), a more original looking Alien or matter, and in my opinion, a more pleasing aesthetic.

They can both be broadly categorized as "humanity vs. overwhelming biological force." Sidonia no Kishi takes place in outer space and has a much more dire atmosphere, while A.I.C.O. takes place on earth. The character CGI in Sidonia can be off putting at first, but the scenery has a wonderfully immersive sense of scale to it; I initially dropped Sidonia because of the less than stellar framerate + character designs, but I'm glad I picked it back up, as the story and setting makes it well worth the watch. A.I.C.O. on the other hand has very pretty character design (thanks Bones), above average animation (not  read more

Similarities - Both worlds are post-apocalyptic dystopian worlds where a virus/mutated organism hunts humans - Both worlds have human safe zones/settlements and slums that border closer to dangers - Both worlds have missions that MC follows in the danger zones - Both worlds use mecha, firearm technology to fight against the mutants Differences - Ling Long is a CGI donghua, AICO is a 2D anime - Ling Long has a more serious, suspenseful tone than AICO's mystery style tone

- Both series follow characters on the move towards a destination. - Both series have the characters fighting a supernatural threat/infection that blocks their path (A.I.C.O/Matter and Kabaneri/Kabanes) If you enjoyed one for the type of on the move story then you'll most likely like the other. Highly recommend both series.

Humanity is pressured from a force that lives beyond the walls/dams that protect them so far. In both shows, the force itself is tied to the main girls of the show in some way. Black Bullet definitely has some questionable harem vibes, while A.I.C.O. is more grounded in a sci-fi battle to "stop the evil" vibes. Depending on your mood, will determine which show you would want to watch.

- Aiko Tachibana = Chika Amatori Both can sense and attract the "monsters" - Akiko Nanbara = Kido Masamune Same role and even the exact same table pose(A.I.C.O Opening) - Yuuya Kanzaki = Yuuma Kuga Both protagonists are someone special - Burst = Invasion - Gates (but WT is dimensional) - Malignant = Neighbor (sorta) - Diver = Border Agent

These are original action/sci-fi anime that involve fighting otherworldly organisms which threaten humanity. They also share the same director, character designer, and composer, so the viewing experience is very similar.

Both follow a dystopian world where people in power are hiding part of the truth of how people are living peaceful lives. The main characters in both animes are trusted into positions of great responsibility where they have a chance to create a better world. Paired with them is a mysterious male who slowly reveals secrets throughout the anime.

Both ID-0 and AICO Incarnation are sci-fi shows that follow a girl who is abducted by a third party, but decides to help them in the end. Both must deal with a mysterious supernatural force that threatens humanity, which is eventually discovered to be the cause of scientific meddling.

Both have settings where Earth is threatened by a hostile life-form, along with enhanced soldiers sent to fight against the creatures, and a girl having the power to ensure the survival of the human race.
