Its really amazing how Gintama doesn't care about randomly getting into slip arcs and still jokes about it, "...stuff happened, and now we're here"
This season starts with a parody of 9 popular anime[as far as I could catch them] and is already getting you rolling in laughter just in 1 minute![The Hunter Chunin Hero Exam xD]
Continuing on, its just the same old Gintama with a straight man routine, stupidity, randomness and a touching serious storyline which they never miss a chance to joke about, you've got to love that how every single character in Gintama is connected in a significant way to many others!
The openings and ending are not so amazing for this season in my opinion, but the rest of soundtrack never fails to set the mood and get you all in on what they have up their sleeves!
The animation gets slightly better(as expected), the animation studio has started using more of ___(bright light/Shines here and there/you know ufotable stuff), [Kagura looks cuter thanks to that, and Zura slightly less appealing imo] It doesn't really matter much with the comedy arcs though as the facial expression gintama characters make are priceless!
Gintama is best anime for me and I'm sure there are a lot of Gintabros out there who feel the same!
The new season of Gintama is out and it's obvious the series is surely becoming more meddling the more it progress.
After the very average previous season, where it tries it's best to be a run of the mill shonen series, it returns to what it does best which is comedy arcs.
But it seems it can't even do that properly anymore, and it's not a recent development, it was never a consistent series for every "funny episode" there was at least two unfunny episode with forced humor and cliche punches.
But now it's even hard to find the one constantly funny episode, without the writes repeating
the same jokes they have already adapted to death.
it's only a few times I can laugh at characters being over the top screaming at the top of their lungs before it becomes boring and overdone.
It was never the show I watch for writing, but even that seems to be going down, maybe the writer is out ideas and only feeding the golden goose to run some extra miles, but fortunately, the goose is stopping soon as the series as whole coming to an end.
and that's the only reason I continue watching this, just so I can see the end.
Overall, so far it's only four episodes this season, so no idea how it goes, but these four episodes have nothing worth praising for them, only emotion they can elicit out of me is boredom.
So I won't rate it now, so the review may be subject to change later.
I am a super fan of gintama, so seeing the new season makes me very happy. Everything is just a 10/10 and needs no explanation. People who give gintama a low rating are uncultured and can be seen as bad weaboos.
Story: As expected of Gintama, the stories are kinda weird, however they are always executed so well! This season is no exception. With the story about Kagura's boyfriend and now the story about Ikumatsu. They use dramatic stories and add the gintama humour to it, making it very enjoyable.
Art: Ain't got much to say. Gintama's art is always splendid and has
evolved very well over the years.
Sound: The voices are really good, and as always a really solid soundtrack, this gets a 10 too.
Characters: Man what can i say, a perfect 10. From Gintoki to Hasegawa, just perfect.
