I dont know if this is a reboot because it looks like diferrent from the first season but it is still linked with the season 1, but its definitely better than the first season. but it feels that the anime isn't only about umaru doing stoopid s*it and that's good, those 2 episodes are very entretaining and i'm definitely look for more, i can't see anything that is bothering me other than kirie still retarded imo. it isn't the anime of the year but it looks like a good show if you want to see something just to relax. if you didn't liked the
first season i dont know if i can recommend it to you but it worth a shot.
Ahh, Umaru, some people love ya and some people hate ya but most importantly you keep your bond with Kirie, Ebina and Sylphinford and annoying the hell out of your bother Taihei! If you didn't like the first season, I suggest you skip this, most of the story's are still Umaru talking with her friends and getting to know them better, little things like Kirie is afraid of the dark and Sylphinford is a huge weeaboo and her big brother Alex works with Taihei, these little small things expand the characters and even make the
characters a bit funny in certain situations.
While Himouto! Umaru-chan R's story doesn't change from the first season, the character interactions still seem fresh and fun! There's really no character in this show that I dislike and the ones that were mediocre from the first season [Sylphinford, Alex and Taihei] are already a lot more fun and creative in the first two episodes. While we don't get deep into the three characters of Umaru, UMR, Komaru and Umaru herself, he get to see them each an equal amount of time per episode. "Komaru" is the stay home Umaru who's very lazy and doesn't do much for her brother Taihei, UMR is the Umaru that bonds with Sylphinford the best and Umaru is the Umaru persona in which she's a popular girl that has a group of three other friends. Besides her version of Komaru being less bratty and mean towards Taihei, there's no difference between Umaru's personas which isn't a bad thing but I feel a little bit disappointed.
The music has definitely improved from the first season, the OP and ED songs feel more creative and fresh and it makes me want to get up and dance with Umaru and her friends. The animation style hasn't changed but for me that isn't a bad thing because I love the simple and fluffy style of Himouto! Umaru-chan.
Final Thoughts After Three Episodes: Better then the first season no doubt, the characters are a lot more fun, the music is better and the animation looks great! If you gave the first season at least a good rating, I recommend watching the first episode to see if this show is your cup of tea because I know Umaru-chan isn't for everyone
