I started watching this anime because I thought the art style is good and looked liked it's a story about controversial relationship and how it unfolds. It was good for first few episodes. Then after few episodes the story was not going anywhere and stayed stagnated.then suddenly it left the current story of the main characters relationship and started a new story of their passion. And that too in last 4 episodes.although we can relate to female lead as her struggle and passion for dream was clearly shown.the male lead was a full wishy washy character. He was a character of no significance and he

At first, when this anime was announced, I was like "meh, that's gonna be a stupid story", and I don't even know why I thought like that. Then, when the first episode came out, I didn't even bother to finish watching it, because the art style of the characters didn't really catch my eye.
BUT Oh man, do I regret everything I've mentioned above, HELL YES, I DO. Just finished watching all the released episodes in one-breath, I'd say. First of all, I'd like to point out the story of this series. This anime isn't your typical school-romance shoujo fluff stuff (idk why i wrote such a long ... Mar 16, 2018
I thought that I would write a review for this anime since the current top review is only based on the first four episodes. The aforementioned review paints an unfair and unrealistic picture of the anime. Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Koi henceforth) is an anime that gets incrementally better as it continues.
Koi is a story far more concerned with personal growth and adulthood than the seemingly taboo premise it represents. The umbrella topic of 'adulthood' is explored through character interactions and various symbolic devices. This review will explore the themes and messages of the anime within the categorical confines of: story, art, ... May 11, 2018
What is "I love you"? We know what those words mean, we've seen them, we've heard them and we've read them. And we've spoken them. But do we really understand the value they hold, the weight they pull and the strength they possess?
I started watching this anime with reservations, partly due to the synopsis, but partly due to experience with teen drama anime. And since I finished watching it, a particular question has been circling in my mind - When will it stop raining? Koi wa Ameagari no You ni is, as the title suggests, a love story. But it's not your typical boy-likes-girl or ... Mar 30, 2018
Love can be as strange as it can be...........and it's true, and this anime has delivered it with flying colors. so"
Very Good 8, Story: It was well executed, the plot did deliver as to what the title says. Ok, so the story about a girl falling for an older guy was something, in fact it was unique, cu'z in most cases it was them older men who would go after the younger ones, just as Pres Trump does with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal ( You guys do know about this issue, do you?), but here, it was more like a young girl who goes after ... I've actually went through both the anime and manga and so far, the plots and characters really did steal my heart. *breathtaking*
Since I'm in the same relationship status, this anime really did open my eyes to see what I'm missing and how my partner thinks from time to time, the feelings and the depth of this anime are one of the things hat are really hard to find in anime nowadays, so if you're into anime that makes you think, this is the right place. What you need is to look beyond the fact that a young girl fell in love with ... Mar 11, 2018
The one thing that made me watch this particular show in the first place was the animation studio. I have a real soft spot for WIT Studio, but then the beautiful calm slice of life story peppered with romance drew me in. This is not some unrealistic love/romance story where two characters fall in love hook line and sinker. There is no kissing, no even hand-holding or anything really. The show is, in fact, more about the development of a relationship, which is closer to a friendship between two lonely people. It is filled with embarrassment, awkward moments and pauses and misunderstandings and

My point of view: I didn't read the manga. (Also, if this happens to be relevant to you, I went into this anime not supporting relationships with age gaps like this one)
Story: Although this anime is considered a romance, I honestly like how the main relationship was already set up to fail. The main character was a confused young teen who "fell" in love with a goofy guy in his 40's. Rather than progressing their "romantic" relationship, they explored the factors behind it. Why does she believe that she's in love with a middle-aged man she knows nothing about? What happened to make her feel ... Mar 22, 2019
TL;DR: Do you want a semi- romantic story that involves age gaps but doesn't involve any sex or any kind of abuse? Then this show just might be for you. This show is cute, charming and really showcases the beauty of friendship and understanding. I highly recommend it to anyone honestly.
Now first off let me be clear by saying that just because I personally gave this anime a ten, that doesn't mean I think it's perfect or that every single person has to like it. Part of it is obviously personal but I mean that's to be expected I believe. Moving on, let me start by ... Jan 28, 2023
A beautiful story in both visuals and message. At first glance, it is just a show with an eyebrow raising premise and thats about it. But as you get into it you realise that the romance is not the point of this show at all really. Its point is all about the love for one's passions and hobbies, reigniting them, the people who you celebrate these passions with and overcoming past failures.
So yes, at its core it is a show about characters reigniting their love for their hobbies with the help of those around them. The basically one sided romance being a side plot ... Mar 27, 2018
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni so far is the best show for this season in my opinion because of its rare case of love where a 17 years old girl fell in love with a mid-aged man. This show really catched my attention because the background, even the weather in each episodes are matching with the title, which is "rain". The dark clouds, the gloom weather, all of them brought true feelings in order to reach the viewer's heart and then there was always sunshine after the rain, which is something that i really love to see.
For the music, the OP and ED are just top-notch ... Apr 10, 2018
Love is something that is so abstract, that anyone would interpret it differently to one another. Anyone can love anybody and in my opinion there’s nothing wrong with that. A certain anime caught my eye last season with a story of a blooming love of an innocent teenager for her manager at her workplace who doubles her age, hinting to anybody who watch this anime that there is no boundary for love and sometimes love could lead us to self discoveries and resolutions. This is an adaptation of manga created by Jun Mayuzuki, this is Koi wa Ameagari no You Ni or After the Rain.
The ... Mar 29, 2018
At a glance, Love is Like After the Rain seems like a romantic drama focused on a high school student named Akira who develops a crush on her boss, a middle-aged restaurant manager named Kondo, after he cheers her up from feeling depressed after having to leave her school's track team due to injury. The series devotes a good deal of focus on the chemistry between Akira and Kondo as the former's interest in Kondo develops and the relationship between them develops into something closer. To the anime's credit in this case, the series is rather sensible in approaching the relationship developments as they stay

This is the type of anime that you can enjoy while drinking a cup of coffee when it is raining outside. The music is mellifluous. The atmosphere that it gives essentially makes you think about life and the meaning of things you are doing. Choices. They are always with us.
I really like this anime because it reflects reality and show us how complicated human emotions are, despite us knowing what is wrong or what is right. Sometimes you just cannot help it. The subject brought by this anime might be controversial to people who are not open to the possibility of understanding the reason behind ... Jul 6, 2019
I hate to be harsh, but i figure that's the great thing about reviews, even if it's an anime that i loved, i'm always interested in seeing why someone may have disliked it. I had to force myself to finish this like a child sitting in front of a plate of spinach and brussel sprouts.
Story: POOR! I want to start by saying i enjoy animes that explore different and even taboo romantic attractions so i was looking forward to this. My problem with the story isn't a moral objection, it's that there is no story. The whole thing could have been delivered in 10 minutes and ... May 21, 2018
「本当に飛ぶことを諦めたツバメは、きっと空を見上げることを忘れてしまうでしょうから」
If you think that koiame is an anime that only focuses on romance, you'd be in for a surprise. In fact, the romance was a trigger to lead into something else. What is that something? well, let's just say it you can relate it with real life. I won't mention it in here so you'll have to watch it to find out. One of the good things in this story is that there are lots of interesting and funny moments, but even so you'll find meaningful words thorough the entire episode, which gave me a good watching experience. Another aspect that might be a good thing is ... Oct 15, 2020 At first glance, the 1st few episodes of After the Rain was all about a 17-year old girl having an immense crush towards some 45-year old middle aged man – but it’s far more than that…deeper than that. It tackles something we experience even up to this point, and something that we’ve yet to grasp and cling upon to – passion. On the surface level, After the Rain is about love at first sight which I’ve pretty much can relate to since I’m the type of guy that will fall head-over-heels the moment someone brings light to me during my darkest times. And this anime portrayed ... Apr 5, 2018
Why should you watch Koi wa Ameagari no You ni?
The story is Outstanding (10). This anime is one of the biggest surprises for me in the winter season. I usually avoid romance stories as they are most of the time predictable and difficult for me to relate to as most of the stories are set in a high school setting with a ton of high school characters. But here comes a seinen romance that caught my heart as soon as I watched the first episode. The setting was great and the use of rain in the story feels right at home. The love that builds ... "Now in this moment ... I'll close my umbrella and get wet in your rain. Something that is young in all aspects, and something that you should not only touch just for the feeling of nostalgia. At this moment, I am the only one who can protect that. Right now... I'll get wet by your side in your torrential rain. Be young in all aspects and continue to shine youthfully, At this moment, I am the only one who can expect that" (poetic fragment of Kondou dialogue of chapter 7) Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (After the Rain) is ... Koi wa Ameagari no You ni or After the Rain is not actually a romance show. So if you wish to watch a hard romance, dont expect it here. The show, show us a hard 'slice of life', how dreams affect us as living being who live coexist and don't see on what age we are.
What is great about the show is, what i expect the show to be a romance with 'unusual' set and will be have an assured ending. Well, i am really wrong. Romance is a side genre from this anime, life is the main genre. It tells us how dream can ... |
