Tsurezure Children

Fun romantic comedy that focuses on "The Moments" in a romantic comedy, especially in the comedy aspect. It avoids showing character development or their relationships through daily life. This anime assumes that you have already seen school romances in anime and can afford to skip all the repetitive fluff. And everything is perfectly understood.

Rather than episodes, it follows a system of short sketches through which we follow the story of a handful of characters in a school. All the characters are clichés, so we recognize them immediately without needing to see them too much. The scenes are usually funny, with simple and direct humor.

Brief, direct, ... and truly entertaining for what it is. Far from being a comedy masterpiece, but it doesn't waste your time pretending to develop something with narrative weight.

Recommended if you have seen a fair amount of anime in the genre and are interested in absurd comedy that doesn't become delirious. Perfect if you're tired of watching seasons of 26 episodes just to get 4 or 5 funny moments in the midst of a generic and uninspiring story and just want to have a good laugh.

Tsurezure Children is a basic and simple romcom anime that has as its only purpose the existence of several couples, in the same school, developing their romance relationships. When I watched this, I really hoped to watch something that would use the fact of being simple to create something well made, or at least, enjoyable, somehow like Seiren and Amagami, two anime with similar purpose did, but it did not happen.
First of all, the anime has like ten couples and each episode has only 12 minutes, so obviously the anime did not have enough time to develop the characters and their relationships, which made ... it totally superficial.
So let's imagine the first point is a problem of mine because I expected something different from what the anime would purpose, it still doesn't save the anime. The best description for this anime is GENERIC. The situations are generic, the characters and the couples are completely generic too. Anyone who likes the romcom genre like me will have watched at least ten other animes with almost equal characters and situations, the aspects and personalities are the same and the same problem of the other romcoms is commom for most of the couples here: the waste of time. So basically, except for two couples, that are really enjoyable despite still being cliche, the others are too boring and the good couples have to divide screen time with them.

These are ~12-minute episodes that consist of generic highschool romance skits between various student pairings. The characterization of these students is shallow and tropey.

I found the dialogue in this to be very clunky and unnatural. The romance feels quite inorganic and hamfisted, and overall simply not emotionally engaging. The script is seriously awful and a crippling flaw from my perspective; it feels so unnatural it's uncomfortable at times just having to listen to it.

The characters have simplistic same-face designs, and the animation quality is unremarkable. The voice acting is okay but that doesn't ... mean much when it's wasted on such a clumsy unnatural script.

If you can tolerate its flaws, this show can be mildly entertaining. It is sometimes cute, and some of the romance-oriented humour can be funny. To be honest, I only watched it with at least a bottle of wine in me, mainly because of how cringe-inducing the dialogue is.

Overall this is a very juvenile anime that feels targeted to an audience in their early teenage years. Somebody in that demographic may enjoy this more than I did. Frankly, I can't imagine anyone older than early teenage years enjoying this anime much.
