A hot-blooded high school teen, a mysterious female swordsman, and an unpredictable dark emo girl. It's impossible to distinguish between reality and the game world! What kind of conspiracy is awaiting them in this super journey of the world!
1/10 or APPALLING is a rating i never thought I would ever put on an anime, their are times when hate can influence the way i rate anime but I am sure its not the case this time, the reason being that this anime pushes the limits of how much calculated can an anime be, it was almost like looking at a very terribly choreographed dance routine, Everything is trying and failing to sync with the other and ends up being one terribly awkward experience.
I particularly LOVE harem, Sci-fi, School, Rom-com anime and I usually don't mind if the story has some cliches here and
their but "Chou Yuu Sekai: Being the Reality" picked all the most overused parts of this anime type and mixed them up in a very bad way, the way the characters interacted with each other is super awkward, the world around them is boring even in moments were the city is being turned upside down by a giant monster and the MC, oh the MC!, I think they wanted to make a self-righteous character who enjoys the fight and can still smile even in the face of danger and this looks cool when its done right but all I saw here was a guy shouting in joy while looking as the city is being demolished by giant monsters as if he was viewing a live show in times square.
The amount of randomness in this anime is just extraordinary, seriously their are moments when stuff are thrown on the screen just for the sake of it, monsters popping out of a fountain just to end the show in a cliffhanger, random flashbacks that completely fail to set the intended tone, put their just because maybe "every other harem anime with a childhood friend character type should have one" and some really useless forgettable sub-characters who are their just to prove the MC is not a loner.
The heroines are weirdly lifeless, I know this is an anime but the heroines say and act in the most predictable ways as you can imagine, I cant put this well in words but it felt like they were only their to push the MC's story forward in the most awkward ways
