Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2 OVA is an isolated episode about well Kazuma showboating to a newbie adventurer by the name of Ran and the dysfunctional main party goes adventuring due to this with their unusual quirks and hijinks.
By all means this OVA has the typical hilarity and comedic edge as the 2nd season of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, that hasn't changed in this OVA neither is Kazuma's karmic luck and how even by LA even stating LA's first statement to this review that something is up. But even by the structure of this OVA
with each quest the main party takes on having more to an increasingly weirder "threat" as well as information pertaining to these quests being linked in some way. Besides that, this OVA does give us something in terms of plot that ONLY refers back to a certain incident in the first season but LA won't obviously spoil on that on.
In terms of animation, the animation done once again by Studio DEEN is done by the typical KonoSuba's enforced low quality animation but the animation shines in terms of focus on detail in some animation to it's fluidity in some scenes. Nonetheless Studio DEEN's specialized take on their animation on KonoSuba is expected quality as per usual.
In terms of voice acting, well it's top notch once again especially from Jun Fukushima's adlibbing-esque and reactionary talents that makes this OVA bearable, heck Aqua is also bearable due to her being a catalyst to Jun and two words for Sora Amamiya made this OVA *ahem* "GOD requiem..." Overall, the voice acting is great and to be expected from these voice actors playing their roles for 2 seasons.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 2 OVA is a nice isolated OVA with a nice reference back to the first season and just typical hijinks antics from the dysfunctional party to a nice karmic payoff as the ending.
Crimson black blaze, king of myriald worlds, thought , I promulgate the laws of nature, I'm the alias of destruction incarnate, in accordance with the principle of all creation. Let the hammer of eternity descend unto me!!!!!!!!!!!!EXPLOOOOOOSION!!!!!!!!!BOOOOOOM!!!!!
And the OVA of Konosuba season 2, has ended, so what???????
Mediocre 5, story:
Ok, so the usual plot, the usual scenario, the usual bad luck were Kazuma's party were still experiencing it , frankly this OVA can qualify as episode 11, in fact Studio Deen should have included it with the regular airing of Konosuba season 2.
Mediocre 5, Art:
Let me see, the same character illustrations, the same situation where we
don't see any good fanservice except for Aqua's commando butt and frankly Rem's butt doesn't count as well, , it goes to show that original creator, Natsume Akatsuki is an assman.
Mediocre 5, Sound:
Well, you guys are smart, so go figure it out as to why I give it such score.
Poor 3, Character:
The thing is, in this OVA Kazuma went from funny to boring as well as the rest of his harem, Rem and that Big Boob Luna didn't do much except make Kazuma's character worse, also their jokes and gags were pretty much worn-out, to the point that I find Aqua, Darkness and Megumi as irritating than funny.
Decent 4, Enjoyment:
Frankly the only part I enjoy here is Rem, who was seemly trying to punked Kazuma, were she did, but end up being found out together with Luna by the stupid latter and got to have their panties stolen...........yeah, he did used the "Steal" spell, but, I would have wish that the two would have gave Kazuma a good beating, it may have add some laughs, too bad Studio Deen didn't thought about it.
Poor 3, Overall:
Everything were already worn-out, and frankly the OVA was rather boring, it's like eating curry for the 4th time in a row.
I went into this expecting the same quality OVA as the one from the first season. I didn't get what I expected. Here's a short review explaining why you might as well spend 20 minutes of your life on something else.
Kazuma and the crew walk into a dungeon, fight a thing, masochistic Darkness acts as a masochist, back to the guild. Same old jokes. Same old scenarios. Same old interactions. The only laugh I got out of this OVA was a bad keyframe.
It's either over animated with too much movement for simple scenes, either badly keyframed. As I said before, the animation is
Aqua makes me want to punch her because of her annoying squealing voice. Nothing outstanding. Some sound errors here and there that most people probably didn't notice.
We were introduced to a new character, and I honestly don't know her name, so I'll call her "White Hair Spot McGee". White Hair Spot was a forced attempt at a joke, and that's pretty much it. She's also awfully designed.
I got a laugh out of a bad keyframe, and that's it.
