Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Boruto is a sequel to one of the best animes I have ever watched but for me sadly it is not 10 percent good as naruto if you are hoping for that. Still, if you consider Naruto a completed anime then Boruto won't be that bad. for me, I didn't even watch half of Boruto instead I followed a list of episodes on the internet that have manga content and some other important episodes and it worked for me again despite that still it is not that good but I will say that the only thing that may be better than Naruto is the fights. ... Boruto has 3 or 4 top-tier fights, especially Naruto and Sasuke fights. I really didn’t think Boruto was necessary. In fact, I’m quite sure that the majority of people still watching this show are mainly doing so just to see what their old favorite characters are up to. I would’ve been perfectly fine with another show about Naruto as an adult, perhaps, but Boruto? Not so much

so why Boruto is bad?
The author wants you to forget how powerful naruto is and want us to believe that naruto is just some stupid old man. They want our love, affection, and every other feeling for naruto to disappear and want us to find those in Boruto who achieve everything without reason and logic but you can say who is so much smarter than his dad but the level of power he gets before even graduating is unlogical (Possesses three change in chakra natures/Subconsciously” added Wind and Lightning Release chakra natures to his Rasengan/had better taijutsu than all 5 Kage combined defeating Momoshiki) and not to mention his own unique overpowered dojutsu and he achieved all that in a week of training so the good training arcs became a one episode training
Boruto’s villains will never match the likes of Madara or the Akatsuki (Shin’s Akatsuki? I’m sorry- are you serious?). In terms of personality, I’ve found that none of the Otsutsuki have been even nearly as enjoyable to watch- and although they’re definitely strong, in a way, they’re not quite as intimidating as those characters either. Do you remember Pain’s Invasion with Kakashi and Jiraiya’s death? The amount of pure emotion and terror those moments held was unexplainable. When we saw Madara running to fight the entire Allied Shinobi Forces, we could see each of them trembling and praying for their lives. And by the point that Boruto is currently at, Naruto also had Orochimaru, who at one point was just about the scariest person in the show. Naruto has some iconic villains with interesting motivations and beliefs — pain, Itachi, Madara, etc. But most of the Boruto villains are pretty one-dimensional, only interesting due to being strong. It makes them more boring and the interactions with them less interesting they are all a bad version of Kaguya
The older characters are never shown as strong as they should be, naruto and Sasuke in particular are just pathetic — even before being literally nerfed by losing Kurama and the rinnegan

I know it's not fair to directly compare the two series, and I am sure that the original manga of Boruto is really good, but it is currently in development and has not progressed that much yet. So the anime makers are just trying to keep things slow until the manga gets its way forward. But I don't think this is fair, making 80% of the series filled with unimportant stuff. They should have waited for some more years. But they wanted the attention of viewers and to keep them engaged. so I hope they wait at least a year or so before they continue the next season

In my opinion, Boruto is highly enjoyable. Everyone has their own opinions, and this is mine. There are also many things that I want the anime to tackle, but just because it doesn't, does not mean that it is a bad show.

Story: Based on the direction that the series is taking, I believe that it will tackle the major plot point introduced at the end of Naruto Shippuden: the Ootsutsuki. It will also focus on the story of Naruto's son, Boruto and another boy named Kawaki, who was seen in the first episode. I really enjoyed watching the buildup from the academy to the ... Chunin Exams as it shows a young Boruto who is discontent with many things, evolve to a mature boy who finally understands the role of the Hokage, his father. Plus, his resolve begins to change as well. Boruto acknowledges that his previous behavior pertained to one of a brat and he grew up from the experience of the Ootsutsuki Invasion, realizing that the easy way out, is not always the correct way out. The story begins to build from there and creates more excitement than ever, as there are new foes and powerful enemies. Many of my favorites haven't been adapted in the anime yet, but I can't help but become very hyped for their entrance! Another thing I enjoy in the story, is the connection throughout the arcs and character development. Since the anime can't adapt the manga immediately, there are world building anime canon arcs that are enjoyable as well, even if they aren't as plot driving as the manga canon. The ending of the fight with Momoshiki was a major moment as Boruto receives an interesting message from Momoshiki regarding his interesting fate.

Art: The art is wonderful, the adaption of Naruto Gaiden: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring in the anime in addition to the Nue Arc, The Academy Graduation Arc and the last couple of episodes in the Byakuya Gang Arc during Ryogi's breakdown, all within the first 50ish episodes had great animation. And the animation in the Chunin Exams Arc during the battle with Momoshiki vs Sasuke and Naruto is one of the greatest animated fights I have witnessed. The father-son rasengan was very well animated as well as touching. Mitsuki's Will Arc was filled with many well animated sections towards the second half of the arc, this served as a nice balance to the first half of the arc which was focused more on the story telling, and the ongoing question of one's will. The Jugo Arc had very nice fight animations as well. The Mujina Bandits, and now currently the Kara Actuation Arc have very stellar fight animation sequences that are very enjoyable to watch, I can only imagine what the manga adaptions will look like once they get animated.

Sound: A very great soundtrack so far with a good amount of variety, I believe there will be more soundtracks that will be added, especially with the upcoming manga adaptions for the anime. The sounds capture the moment very well, a few osts that I enjoy are Spin and Burst, Sarada's Heartache, and Sarada's Fighting Spirit. The openings and endings are very nice as well; my favorite openings would have to be 5, 6 and 7, and my favorite endings are 2, 3, 4, 5- practically all of them. The endings especially capture the essence of the arc. Ending 1 captures the lighthearted beginning of the show that reflects the peace time that has settled on the ninja world after the 4th great ninja war, ending 2 and 6/7 depicts Sarada and Mitsuki's inner turmoil, ending 3 captures the academy lifestyle and Boruto's energetic drive, endings 4 and 5 are pretty linked as ending 4 signals the oncoming storm and turbulence of the next arc, while ending 5 is an ending that hits hard after the episodes in the Chunin Exams arc regarding Boruto's fate, his shame, the Ootsutsuki's descent and Boruto's resolve. Endings 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 don't really connect to an arc, but are really nice to listen to. Ending 8,10 and 12 seem to have a lot of foreshadowing of the future events in the series, while 11 is about a card game that depicts team 10's compatibility. Endings 9 and 13 illustrate the amazing chemistry between team 7 and also showed the viewers how adorable they are(lol).

Character: I personally enjoy most of the characters in the series, the new team 7, with Boruto, Sarada and Mitsuki, is my favorite team in the new gen. I also found it funny that Naruto, Sasuke and Orochimaru, all of whom had a very strained (and that's putting it lightly) relationship throughout Naruto and Shippuden, now have children in the same squad, who unlike them, have a very wholesome relationship and support each other.
I also find the parallels between Boruto and Sarada's character development very interesting. They were both initially at odds with their parents for either withholding information or not being there, and thanks to another figure, the other one's parent, the embarked on a mission where they saved a parent with help and returned to the village with a newly formed goal and a stronger resolve. And now both of their goals are intertwined as Boruto is willing to protect Sarada as she pursues her own goal. Mitsuki and Kawaki are also very compelling characters, the latter whom I can't wait to see in the anime. Mitsuki also has quite a similar path to Boruto and Sarada, except his path is more Boruto oriented, although, he has shown Sarada a great amount of support, especially in volume 11 during Team 7's latest tussle.
I am still very eager to see more characters from the manga get adapted into the anime!!

Enjoyment: Everyone has their own opinion, and in my opinion, Boruto is highly entertaining. Each chapter is something I greatly anticipate, and the anime adds more depth to the manga storylines.

Overall: I enjoy Boruto, but there are still many things I do want to see, I can't wait to see more and I am truly hyped for more of the story. And reminder, just because something is not to your taste, does not mean it is horrible. It is impossible for everything to go exactly the way you would like it to go, so please don't be a child and throw a tantrum over a fictional universe.
On another note, I like the direction of the story and I wish for more episodes and chapters!

UPDATE to my previous review, we had stopped watching at episode 151 back in (April 2020), and watched from 151 to 232 in the past month (May 2022)

This anime has gotten so amazing... I think I honestly like it more than the End of Shippuuden.

The action and animation has kept improving, with one of the most amazing combat sequence I have ever seen in any anime. Emotion and Drama is also top notch. And since the anime has not had a single filler episode since episode 156, everything has felt meaningful and really fun to watch. For anyone who ever enjoyed Naruto at any ... point, I cannot recommend giving this a try and sticking to it even during the earlier "less good" fillers.

I honestly don't understand the hate this series has got... Sure, MOST of it is filler... some fillers are also much better than others... and some arcs are so good that I could not believe they were not in the actual manga.

Overall, if you go in this expecting something along the lines of one piece, bleach, naruto with fast pace story jumping from one major arc to the next then you might be somewhat disappointed by some of the filler arcs...

But considering how high ranking Gintama is, and the show is basically JUST filler slice of life and comedy over and over... Personally I couldn't get into Gintama for that exact reason... We gave up on Gintama after 100+ episodes and only watched the actual story arcs (with more than 3 connected episodes)

Boruto is so much better! Especially if over the years you have come to love the town, characters and their personality. To see every children grow and see their parents personality shine through is great.

If you go in this with a light heart expecting some slice of life in the village of Konoha, its actually very good :)

If it wasnt for some of the more "stupid" filler episodes, I would have ranked the show even higher. Its honestly as close to the original Naruto as I could have hoped.

Overall it looks like Naruto, the children all have nice characters personalities that fits the established lore, music is good (some is epic, some less so) and it did made my wife and I tear up a few times in some touching moments (perhaps that is because we do have a child ourselves (young adult) that it connected with us more i don't really know)

True story...I save the new episode of this show each week for a night that i’m Not feeling very tired but really need to get to sleep...if that doesn’t tell you enough, feel free to read on!!!

I’m just going to get straight to the point,because this show at its current point (37 episodes in), is bad. It’s hard to write a review without drawing comparisons to Naruto, so I’ll get that out of the way quickly. As a stand-alone show without any previous knowledge of Naruto and his generation, this is a 2 at best. I feel like seeing the grown up ... versions of Narutos era bumps it to a 3 or 4. I find myself cringing when the old generation isn’t around, and getting excited during the few minutes that they actually show up for. For now, until this series does something...anything...I would recommend a hard pass. It feels like a giant filler in a world that I just cannot seem to care about anymore. The new characters, the new generation, are either direct copies of their parents, yet somehow seemingly much worse, or just agonizing when they’re on the screen (boruto). None of the stories have been intereresting in the least, and the things replicated from Naruto, such as the genin exams,have been horribly anti climatic and beyond boring. The episode plots are very generic and are created with the intent of shoving friendship and teamwork down your throat. Naruto had a lot of the same principles, but it was a lot more creative in getting there.

Something needs to change for this show to become exciting. With Naruto you had troubled children growing up, many parentless, in a world rattled by war and terrorized by beasts. Being a ninja meant a chance to help their village survive, and everything that happened was important and exciting. In this new world, somehow only 15 years advanced but everyone runs around with handheld games...., you have a bunch of seemingly spoiled children, who take what their parents did for granted, and act like little jerks (boruto). I hate to say it but the world will have to move past Naruto and Sasuke for there to really ever be that serious threat like with the akatsuki, madara, and the 4th ninja war. Those two are too powerful, and unless it wants to just be a dimension hopping, new super bad guy comes out of a portal type show, those 2 and a few others have to die...

That being said, if this show wants to continue being a new age, happy go lucky, ninja snob fest then I think it’s worth a skip. If it wants to head back into its roots as a ninja/action drama, then a lot needs to happen. It could absolutely turn itself around and become a good show. If it does, I’ll update this if anyone reads it. If not, skip this and don’t look back.

The rating of boruto is just exaggerated. The show is not bad. It has perfect blend of old and new characters. I was hesitant while watching this after seeing the hate on the internet. People follow the trend of hate. This show is just the level of Naruto classic iif you only see the manga eps. The storytelling is also great. You wil feel nostaligic if you are a naruto fan. ik fillers are a headache bc there is nothing seperating canon and fillers. You can only watch these eps and you will not miss anything and you will be saved from the fillers

Boruto: Isshiki + Kara arc is so goated that the whole 2021 was very freaking enjoyable to watch like i cant hate on it... The soundtrack and the characters are just golden...
Things that happened definetly gave boruto more of a serious vibe and its not goofy anymore and the anime is taking a good direction when its a manga canon arc... Kishimoro is literally making the best ideas for the show so we should just wait for the time skip and then this anime will have a such a fine glow-up compared to the anime cannons and fillers... Like out of 217 episodes that ... are released only 51 of them are manga canon and all of them are 8-10/10 not even capping. For real try to watch the latest arc without hating on the show and you will enjoy it! In the future if they do the time skip right it can be one of the most interesting animes in a long time no cap.

I’d like to start off by saying I’m not sure how people write reviews for a show they haven’t even finished or that is still continuing but i’m currently on episode 177 as of this review and through all of the episodes I’ve enjoyed Boruto for what it is and for what can still be. It’s definitely had plenty of good episodes as well as fights but the filler is the only thing that can be exhausting but plenty of shows have it just like the former did so if you like Naruto you’ll enjoy Boruto, just give it a chance unlike the people who ... dismissed it because it wasn’t the same.

It's all to obv that most people who have seen the first few episodes of Baruto has never seen the original Naruto show. This show does exactly what Naruto did, and that is build fucking character, you don't go straight into the action of killing people off and such before you even fucking know who everyone is. so many bad reviews from people who never got to learn about Naruto as a kid before he became cool, so many episodes in the beginning of Naruto with no action, then a little and then for a long time non. it's the same deal here, so we ... know they are serious about building the world of Baruto, while also making sure that everyone is not just doll husks with no actual impact on the whole premise. A true Naruto fan could never wish for more than this, so sad to see MAL be run over by children. sadly it's been like this for a long time now. so if you have a problem leave, and let the adults enjoy there childhood ones again.

Current episodes are CANON! All episodes, manga, some of the fillers, 2 movies, books and novels are canon in ninja world becouse it was affirmed by author. Very minor spoilers in this review for Boruto, clearly stated start and end of one minor spoiler for Naruto.

And no, the scores will not change even if the series become let`s say 200 episodes long. Too much is destroyed already, and introducing action will close and remove the possibility of correcting poorly done peaceful background. Also it ... will create uneven pace of story. And it will be so, as we can see from the scene at the beginning of anime.

I was one of the people who defended the idea of Naruto`s world evolving into „modern”, peaceful setting, because I `m aware that peaceful world has it`s own tragedies including, but not limited to mafia, gangs, poverty, psychological illnesses and disorders stemming from less then perfect conditions in which young people of modern world live. 15 years after war was a good place to show how older people cope with baggage from their childhoods and war. It was also a place to show problems of younger generation fighting for their own dreams, against new kinds of troubles, in conditions created by older generation. And aberrations of modern world.

There is no logic behind construction of this world, especially looking at the origins. In any aspect. It is disney. Older generation is fully stable, without any disorders from past events, living in harmonious relationships, including people badly scarred and closed in emotional field. Yes, they also have families. All of them. And very happy ones. I mean this.

Destroyed rules of fight (spoilers for Naruto):
There was great construction of power in Naruto, which meant that we were never sure if ninja rated 20 in terms of abilities (databooks) would kill ninja rated 10. Example? All genins of sasuke rescue mission were about 10, apart from Neji. Their enemies - 20. Genins were able to stop/kill stronger ninjas, despite power imbalance, by actually sacrificing their own lives. Weaker ninja fighting in far distance had a chance against close distance fighting stronger ninja. The elements were weak against one, and stronger against another. And so on.
End of spoilers for Naruto.
There is no such thing in Boruto. Overpowered pre-genins fight with older ninjas using elemental techniques incorporating various elements. Older, random ninja are able to wield legendary artifacts and lose to overpowered pre-genins. And this was most ambitious fight of the series so far. Tactics, planning your move do not exist (think about fights with akatsuki and long fights in Naruto, showing the characters of opponents). Also annoying disneyish rule that every time sth is supposed to harm you, you will be safed in last minute. In Naruto you were coughing up blood, and crawling on the ground before that happened. It removed any tension.

“Modern” mean homogenous according to creators. And it is not end, because if you read manga, you can sense foreboding of sci-fi elements. The surroundings are tame and predictable. The forced “threats” (when they exist) absolutely forced, out of blue and beneath overpowered pre-genins. They introduced science as another measure and way of life to choose, but so far, we only know, that the second measure is present, and we are closing on episodes constructing the world. So far it is not explained.

As fantasy genre, if you forget about Boruto being continuation:
World: we land in peaceful city without cars, set in green forest. Communication, public transport, television, telebims, computers and so on do exist. The world is not original, because it rides coattails of older series. However, there are no distinguishing features to this world compared to other anime series, only lack of thereof.

So maybe the strength lies in story? Unfortunately not.
The children have something close to elemental magical power which they use as they see fit. They spend their time being at school, school trips and at home. They are not driven to achieve their aims/goals. They don`t have them. At one point they state their aims. And go back to their routine. There are no obstacles to fight against, and they live in perfect environment. Also the children are incredibly strong. We do not see their training. So far for “shonen” genre. We got also lack of purpose in their lives which is unusual even for slice of life. Not to mention modern real life. Adults are living their perfect lives - do not watch older series, if you don`t want to measure your capacity of incredolusness looking at scarred, emotionally closed characters being ideal parents.

Characters
The characters are pre-genin, incredibly strong. The fights are short, and do not require tactics. There is no suspense behind fights becouse the spirit of fight is disneyish - no tactics, simply exchange of fire; there is no construction of power known from older series. We got two rules: main characters win without destroying their hair style, and every time when something is to harm them, their friends will intervene. Characters are the strongest part of the show. Authors learned from the Sakura mistake. So far they are not annoying, but we can`t say much about them becouse they weren`t tested out by any meaningful event. Too bad I`m one of the people who are impossible to get bribed this way. I value the story and the world the most. I don`t care much about quality of animation; I take notice of style. There is no great soundtrack as it was with Naruto. No memorable melody. Animation quality is ok, similar to Naruto`s nice style.

If you have too much time and hadn`t seen older series, you may try it. Don`t watch old series or Boruto will lose any taste for you. May you find any enjoyment. If you saw older series, stay the heck away. And remember in both cases, that manga is ... and is bound to get animated.

I am one of the few people who have stuck it out until the story actually got good (i'm up to ep.44 currently). I think a lot of people have prematurely judged this anime and made assumptions that are totally unfair.
I am an original Naruto fan and I am loving it thus far. Yes, it was difficult to first engage because it is different and was slow moving at the beginning but I can fault many popular anime for similar ... things.
The characters are familiar yet different from the originals. They are fun and full of variety. A good job has been done in modifying the Shinobi world. The music has been renewed and modified and works perfectly with the action sequences etc. The art is simplistic and lacking but I think that comes with budgeting for a big show. I'm not too disappointed by the art as this anime doesn't aim to bedazzle audience through the animation style. It's more about the story and characters and renewing a nostalgic story while attempting to introduce it to a new audience/generation.
Not everyone will like it but I sure do and I think's it's worth a watch. Though if you don't want to put up with the slow beginning and you are familiar with the characters and past story, I suggest watching from around episode 20. (But you must watch ep. 1, it's kinda important). There is much more I'd love to say about this anime but I'll leave the rest up to you. If you wanna chat though, feel free!

We're now well into the 150s of Boruto episodes and I can tell you if you're going to start this late, don't bother. My opinion of the show has deteriorated because the show has deteriorated. It seems like not much has happened during these 150 episodes. Probably due to the fact that the manga isn't super far ahead. If you still wanna know what happens, read the manga. I am only continuing to watch the anime because I am up to date and it's only 20 minutes a week unless I speed it up, haha. Still a good kids show, I imagine, but if you're watching it mainly for Naruto nostalgia and to just see what happens, go for the manga. And in my humble opinion, the manga is very good! Mikio Ikemoto, who does the drawing, I love his interpretations of the characters, the anime has botched the look of some characters but the manga is the complete opposite. Most of Ikemoto's interpretations look badass! I love how this has basically just become an advert for the manga, go read it!

I admit that I hated this show at the beginning, because Shippuden was so good. I cried so hard when Naruto asked Iruka to be apart of his wedding, I just felt so enveloped into Naruto and the connections with the characters that I built. It was honestly sad to feel like Naruto missed the bar. However, if you are a true Naruto fan like I am and truly invested, you will continue to watch it and be happy with the outcome.

I absolutely hated Boruto as a character and as a show. Boruto won me over a little bit when I got to episode ... 62. It felt like I was just going with the motions, as the episodes dropped. But the real change for me was when I got to Episode 129, flipping my emotions on their head. It slowly got better and better from there on out, then I was not prepared for Episode 208 and all the action and emotions to follow. I am currently on Episode 218 and I can honestly say that this is becoming the same, if not better than how I felt after watching Shippuden.

TLDR: If you have to, force yourself to watch it all. It feels like they want you to hate Boruto in the beginning and from the scores here, they succeeded. However, the reward is well worth it. I changed my score of this from a 4 to a 9 since.

I've been watching Naruto since it first released. Besides the annoying fillers, the story is pretty much solid for a shounen anime/manga.

But Baruto, I just don't know. Just because Naruto was popular, they can't seem to let go of the profit and decided, "why won't we make a new batch of Naruto-like character calling them their children and make millions again. No need to advertise it, it can sail with Naruto's popularity already." And then Baruto came out.

Same old same old. And whatever Naruto's author did, somewhat has been all wash out. Naruto and Sasuke is not the strongest anymore, they're merely a shell of ... the new "baddies". And just when you thought they're almost a "god".... No! They're not. Because Baruto and the others will surpass them.

For an anime who wanted to ride with Naruto's popularity. I don't think destroying the core of Naruto just to make Baruto better would make it "much better".

I can't find any of the characters here in Baruto as charming. The only thing I get is annoyance and irritation. The personality and characterization is over flawed, so shallow that you can't help but to bang your head on the nearest hard object and wish you could just forget permanently of what you have seen.

This anime is DREADFUL ad best.

Gonna keep this brief: Boruto is possibly the most wasted potential show of anime's history. Boruto may be Naruto's sequel in a literal manner, but the story & theme are NOT.

As of time of this review (~ep 60) the story has been a little more than a failed SOL. There has been one, yes one, unique/main concept so far. And that concept, after an entire arc dedicated purely for it's foreshadowing, has been absent ever since. Over the span of 60+ episodes (avoiding specifics for spoliers) virtually nothing has been completed on Boruto's journey. And it's one exciting unique feature has seemingly been utterly dismissed ... and abandoned for no apparent reason.

As for now, I would highly recommend staying away from this show. Not only is it a disgrace to Naruto's fans who've been watching since 2002, it's an absolute failure of an attempt in transforming a high-pace action filled shounen into an E rated kids show; leaving nil mature themes in a shounen- horrendous.

Story-- 3: as explained above. To summarize: story is absurdly slow and if you are looking for a good action-shounen, you will not find those awesome fights in here.

Art + Sound-- 6: Your usual shounen stuff, nothing notably good nor bad.

Characters-- 2: Copy pastes of the originals but worse. The main characters are burrito and salad, and their character design is just as creative as the names.

Enjoyment-- 1: Every time things appear to become interesting, they don't. The amount of nostalgic epic moments that have been missed so far is disappointing to say the least. It's like Ukyo Kodachi doesn't know a thing about it's predecessor, and if he does, doesn't want to have anything to do with it. I get he wants to do his own thing, but its such a slap in the face to the audience he is inheriting- come on.

Overall-- 3: Maybe something of interest will happen ~episode 200, but till then, this has been a slow and painful wreck.

well i alwayed loved the naruto series Itachi Uchiha
is a Fictional character that i truly love from my heart , i feel deply connected to him and his story and sacrifice for his little brother sasuke uchiha was somethin just beautiful and amazing to see an anime that maked my eyes cry so hard that i wasn't sad i was happy because i witnessed such a beautiful thing with my own eyes i feel like a was a blessed that i was watching this show called naruto and i got introduced to these people and you ight laught at me they become my family ... in a way we shared happy moments and sad moments , the music was something special that you would listen to hours without getting bored it , now lets start with the boruto review i dont have any thing to say other than its disappointed of a show , not to live up to the hype that naruto was , its just a pathatic to see it going down hill , this show is awfull by all means , please feel your precious time and watch something good worth your time , because boruto is just not

I love the naruto universe with all my heart, I finsihed /binged shippuden within a month and I loved each and every part of it & I dont regret a single part of it.

I started boruto a year ago, didn't even read the manga a bit. I slowly went through all the episodes. All the fillers were completely scuffed, I accept that. But after I watched the first chunin exams arc of boruto. My standard of fights, animation, story & VA was higher than ever. Even ... though boruto, kinda cheated, I understand why. Since, even children ask attention from their parents, heck even when they put their expectations on us. We start to lose confidences and turn towards cheating. (Come on be honest) All the OG naruto fans are literally dissing on this show and not allowing the ratings to go higher, because most of them have grown up with naruto and dont have the mind set of boruto's mind set. Yes.... the naruto's power scaling was perfect. But, this is what the beginning was even in naruto. After Kishimoto-san took over the manga and anime. Its been finsihing the manga chapters alot and we are almost to the end of where the manga is presently. And soon the second chunin exams fillers will start and after what boruto is right now. Im hype for that too. Now please lets try to rise the rating to where it should me.

To be honest, Boruto , is too underrated , yes for now it has to many filler episodes , but please you need to give it a chance. Unlike the manga , the anime focuses more on the development of the characters not just the manga cannon episodes . If you want you can skip them .
Story: Even though Boruto has quite a few filler and anime cannon episodes , the manga cannons are awesome , Boruto launched to early that s why it has ... fillers , but from episode 80 the show gets on another level . I know the fillers are boring , nobody force you to watch them , If you want skip them , but please give Boruto a chance.
Manga Cannon story: 10/10
Art: There is nothing to talk about is a small improvement over Naruto .

Character: Here is a small problem , compared to Naruto the characters are awful, in Boruto it looks like every character is a joke , like 50% of the characters have 0 improvement . Characters: 7/10
Enjoyment: In my opinion is a pretty good anime if you liked Naruto but every watcher needs to understand something , Naruto is not the MC anymore , you can t just hate Boruto because we don t see Naruto as much as him. Enjoyment:9/10

The Boruto Anime does what the manga wouldn’t really do which is having a long arc so if you think about the anime canon stuff are usually top tier when you think about also, The sounds, Characters are different due to it being started from boruto gaining everything then slowly losing it all. The manga is also great in terms of fighting and execution so it takes time for you to get adjusted to the characters but I do agree that boruto does be annoying at times and a brat at times but naruto was just like him too. If you go to the naruto ... fandom and say “I like boruto” then they will end up badmouthing you or being really toxic which is always why I hated the fanbase second to my hero’s fanbase but anyways I mean naruto had a lot of filler too and they were boring as well but this is Boruto’s Story which makes Naruto a Side Character now.

I could argue and list hundreds of thousands of points why this show is what it is, where it fails and where it... well I won't even finish this sentence because all has been said.

All I can say is learn to let go, move on and watch something more. There is so much you can do right now.

Come on dude....Boruto has a ridiculously low score from the ppl reviewing this lol. I personally don't find it as good story/art and characters wise but I wouldn't rate this a 1 just out of pure hate. I would have liked this to be short and sweet like 24 episodes filled with action and excitement.
The biggest downgrade are the amount of pointless fillers. If it were me I would have waited a couple of years more and start Boruto with the Chunin exam fallowed by Boruto meeting Kawaki arc. But that's just me lol.

UNBIASED HONEST REVIEW OF THE CURRENT STATE OF THE ANIME

Story 1 - Pathetic - Right now it's all filler with one actual kind of good arch from the Naruto Gaiden Manga, however, it follows Sarada Uchiha, and Boruto isn't in the arch at all. It's funny that at 33 episodes in the best arch in the Boruto anime is an arch without Boruto in it. Not because boruto is bad, but because literally everything else is filler. The Sarada arch is the only thing that's actually good because it's Naruto canon based on the Naruto gaiden manga, but it's still filler in this anime, because ... while it's Narutoverse canon it's not Boruto canon and this anime is Boruto, not Naruto. The reason for all the filler is because they want to wait to let the manga get further ahead. Even with the good Sarada arch, I guarantee you that years later when newcomers ask us old folks who started watching from the beginning, for a filler list, we will tell them that the first 100 episodes +/- are all filler and you can literally start watching on ep. 101 without missing a thing, because that's when the anime literally starts. Honestly, why they didn't just decide to wait a year to let the manga get ahead is beyond my understanding, but w/e. The story score is subject to change given future non filler episodes, but right now because the show is 100% filler it gets a score of 1 - Pathetic, which is one more point than any filler episode from any anime deserves.

Art 8 - Very Good - The art and animation is really good. Not much more to say here except that the anime is petty and the characters movements are what we expect from a Narutoverse anime.

Sound 6 - Fair - Sound is good. Sound effects/folly's are good. The ost however is not so good. Pretty much a copy paste from Naruto and no real new songs as far as in episode songs are concerned. Idc about intro and outro songs because I skip all that anyways, it's just filler imo. So with sound effects being good and ots being mediocre I split the difference at 6 - fair.

Character 6 - Fair - The characters are fun, and the only upside about the filler is we get to see the characters build relationships with each other. The only problem is that this relationship building takes place in filler episodes that everyone will skip in the future and therefore no one will see the character building that goes on here in the filler. Also, you can only watch so many character-backstory-interaction-relationship-building episodes before you want to pull your hair out and get on to an actual canon story arch.

Enjoyment 4.5 - Decent - I enjoy it because I loved Naruto and generally enjoy anything in the Narutoverse. For this reason I would personally score my enjoyment and the likely enjoyment of Naruto fans at 6 - Fair. However, if I was coming to this anime cold, having never watched Naruto before, I feel the enjoyment would drop to 3 - Poor, because newbs would not be versed enough in the lore to know what's really going on, would not have any connection with this world and characters, and would likely be more turned off by the 100+/- filler episodes than a fanboy like me would. So, I split the difference and give it a 4.5 - Decent.

Overall 5 - Mediocre. This is the number I get when I average all the scores from the component parts, and for right now it about suits the anime. Right now Boruto is a Mediocre anime that you can skip. There is literally no reason to watch this anime until they decide to start doing canon episodes. Once the cannon episodes start to air, then my score is subject to change, but right now after watching 33 episodes of filler, you can skip this anime completely for now.
