Terra Formars: Earth-hen

First of all, we need some context: these OVAS were a special bonus that came bundle with the latest volumes (at the time) of the terraformars manga. So they're covering two very specify sections of the story (manly the missing persons arc and the artificial island arc) and you will be completely Lost if you havent read the manga.

Now that we got that out of the way, lets start this Review!

Due it's short lenghty, the first OVA has been compressed to only adapt the Akari portions of the arc. But oh boy of it doesnt do a good job doing so. It's fast, smooth with ... some very Nice animation and camera angles and even some new tracks that make the action all that much hype. Seeing Akari riding a motorcyle up a building and then slicing a bunch of roaches like they're made of butter is such a treat to see.

We also get a brief scene with sakurato and a very sweet interaction between Akari and Michelle through phone messages. But the meat and Potatos of ova 1 is definitely Akari vs Saito. During wich we get some of those iconic mini documentaries about bugs terraformars is know for. And to cap this off, we get the first appearence of one of the most badass characters from the earth ranking, Samurai sword (yes, that's how they call her)
Over all, a very short but well adapted part of the manga. Tho, part of my still wishes this OVA was longer so we could also see the bear terraformar fight.

OVA 2 adapts the later half of the artificial island arc where Akari and a few members of Ichi security are in a mission to infiltrate a chinese man Made island and rescue all the people that has been disappearing in Japan.
It's a bit disappointing that this only covers the final half of the arc because man, in the manga this arc is peak terraformars. Still, what se have here isnt Bad at all. From Michelle and the rest of the american team arriving to help, from the brief but appreciated cameos from the characters of the terraformars light novels and even some bits of kanako's backstory and the return of captain komachi at the end. OVA 2 delivers some very good moments nonetheless. But my favorite is still the first one. So i'm giving the second one a 7/10
I'm just writing this Review because it makes my blood boil that the only other Review completely misses the point of these ovas and fails to provide any good insight on them. This is also my first Review so it may be a bit wonky in places.

If you thought that season two was bad, then turn around and don't watch these Ovas. Because they're much worse.

Story: They literally jumped from zero to a hundred with no explanations. These Ovas start with the main characters hunting down Terra Formars on earth (we have no idea how did they get back from mars and how Terra Formars reached earth) then they introduce a new strong character who joined the main characters to kill Terra Formars. So, there were a lot a lot of fighting between Terra Formars and the main characters. Just like S1 & S2, no real story just fighting. Then ... they introduced the Terra Formars' leader who wears like Buddha holding a human baby and on his sides two "bad" humans (his alliance). So, how did he manages to make friends with humans? Who is that baby?? I have no idea. So, as expected, there was a big fight between his followers (Terra Formars) and the mean characters. The main characters kinda won the fight . After that, Buddha (or whatever you wanna call him) ran away with the baby, and the main characters kinda had a happy moment and start laughing and that was the end. Basically, a complete shit show.

Art: Aiming for children.

Characters: More retarded than they were in season two.

Enjoyment: NO

Overall: Don't waste your time on this shit.
(personally I had so much expectations from this Anime, but they ruined it with their lack of a story and too much fighting, and they added many fan services, which is cringe in this type of Animes. Also, they made the Asian group the bad ones (except for Japan of course because they're the good ones a long side with the west) which is kinda racist. And that totally ruined it for me. It was really unnecessary.
