The land of Nariadia was once vibrant and green, but has been trapped in eternal winter by the cruel Ice Queen. When the balance of Naria is broken, warriors will appear from the human world and restore order. They are the Naria Girls!
Look at all of the bad reviews. How many episodes have they seen? 1 or 2 episodes is undoubtedly not enough to give this anime a holistic and comprehensive review.
Don't let this anime's synopsis fool you. If you take this anime seriously, then its score of 3.91 will be no shock to you. But this anime is not meant to be taken seriously. Its story is actually just a background for the refreshingly candid and original humor. The animation and voice acting are deliberately this way to perfectly fit the anime's theme. It's just satirically hilarious.
Granted, its humor is not for everyone. Mahou Shoujo
Naria Girls' humor is very particular, and it expects the audience to have some kind of prior understanding/experience with its type of humor. It's not at all a generic comedy, and it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea.
Each episode is kind of structured in a certain way. The three Naria girls start out in some situation, to which there is often some impromptu comedic conversation. They then encounter a monster, and this monster leads them to enact a scenario impromptu, and as a result of the spontaneity, hilarity ensues. I really cannot praise the voice actors enough. From what I saw, each of their comedic skits was almost totally impromptu, with maybe some minimal guide-lining to make sure that they at least advance the plot a little bit. To be able to come up with this kind of humor on the spot is pretty impressive.
There is also the "main" story, in which the Naria girls need to fill up their Naria power to defeat the evil Ice Queen. The story itself has its moments, and if the comedy was not included, then it might have had the potential to become a compelling short story. It truly wasn't a terrible story. Cliche, but decently interesting.
I think the main thing that is very off-putting at first is the art, animation, and conversational style. To me, it seemed like the voice actors were actually video-recorded, and then they were reskinned in production to become the anime characters. So as a result, the animation seems strange and it doesn't seem well-planned. Most of the time there isn't really animation at all, it's just a still picture with sound effects and a narrative voice-over. And at first, the unfamiliar comedy is a bit jarring because the girls tend to all talk at once with seemingly no direction and no script. But all of these things actually are what contribute so much to the humor: all of the comedy seems impromptu and very candid. The bad animation style, the random conversations; each piece deliberately emphasizes this anime's satirical nature.
Don't take this anime seriously. Don't watch it expecting an emotional, inspiring story. Don't watch it expecting the battle scenes to blow you away with beautiful animation. Don't watch it expecting to learn a deeper moral lesson than its surface implies.
If you want a laugh, and if you want some quality, refreshing, candid humor, this is the anime to watch.
Naria Girls is perhaps one of the worst anime I have ever seen and is definitely the worst title from this year thus far, even worse than other pieces of shit such as "Big Order" or "Mayogia". It's that fucking bad.
Everything about this anime reeks of laziness from the opening credits, to the animation to the voice acting. Nothing in this show is remotely decent and everything makes me want to throw up into a basket of puppies.
The plot makes no fucking sense and I wont even try to explain it in this review. Its about three girls that become magical girls and have to
fight the forces of evil or some shit like that. Boring and generic. What really makes this anime so bad however is the atrocious "script"...if you could even call it that. Most of the dialogue between the three girls is improvisation and none of what they say is funny or even makes sense half the time. Every joke falls flat and the topics they talk about don't even make any fucking sense with no consistency or flow between what each person is saying. Its like these voice actresses got drunk, spoke some random shit which was recorded and lazily dubbed over animated girls. If there is some 'deep' symbolism behind what they're saying, I have no fucking clue what it is (and let's face it, there is none)
The animation is fucking terrible. It consists of either still frames, which you'd think would at least have some good quality artwork, but NOPE! These frames are badly drawn and look like shit. The other half is made up of CGI (ohhhhh my favorite!) which look terrible. The models have no texture and look like they were ripped from a PS1 game and the characters are constantly moving around or jumping. It's almost as bad as the film 'Food Fight'. Not only that, the mouths don't sync up to what they're saying and often, the two character models will walk into each other, passing through one another entirely. This extremely lazy and I wonder how the fuck in 2016 could this be played on television?
I'm not even sure who this anime is marketed at. Even with all the pandering and the such, I'm sure no sweaty otaku in Japan would even go near this show with a 50 foot pole. It's the worst anime of this year and you should stay far away from it unless you're one of this sick fucks like me who enjoy watching shit.
This is one of the first anime I've seen so far where I legitimately don't know where to start.
This is not a magical girl anime. Hell, this isn't even a slice of life anime. To be honest, I don't know what it is. What I do know is it's one of the most dreadful and baffling things I've ever seen.
To give you an idea on what happens in a typical episode...
-Naria Girls aim to do something
-Monster traps them in hallucination
-Naria Girls go on a tangent, going on about any random bullshit
-Kyubey ripoff says they're under attack, throws them their magic items, they kill the monster
(as the monster promotes a random single... what's with that?) the end.
-Repeat until end of the series.
Now why do I think this show is complete shit? It's barely an excuse for an anime. In truth, it isn't really animation. The actors were motion captured and CGI rendered, which explains the character models clipping through each other. The non animated parts are just drawn stills. The voice acting is something else. It sounds like somebody set up a single microphone in a booth, got the three voice actors in, and just told them to chat absolute rubbish. The show actually had it's occasional funny moments, however, a lot of the time, it got so out of hand that they would just end up yelling over the top of each other. It is literally an improvised anime.
Now here's where it gets really ridiculous. This anime was BROADCAST ON TV!!! I actually wouldn't judge this as harshly if it was some ONA that was uploaded to YouTube or something, but this monstrosity somehow made it onto air. If that wasn't bad enough, the official website for Naria Girls has Blu-rays for sale. Someone thought this was good enough to put on shelves. Truly baffling.
And there you have it. Mahou Shoujo? Naria Girls. Although I think "Three VA's on Drugs? Naria Girls" would've been more appropriate.
When the time comes from me to meet my maker the Galactic Overlord Xenu and I stand before him, he will ask me what shows the accomplishments of the human people and why he was right to place humans in volcanoes 75 million years ago. I will show him this show,as it will present the genius wonders of human creation. He will then allow me to enter the promise world.
Theres just so much to go over with this perfected anime. The story is perfected down to the bone, providing chilling, but sweet moments from the first minute, all the way too the 96th minute.
You will never watch a show containing so much action and fantasy. The abyss that can be felt after this show can be compared to a black hole. Cause it will be nothing, you will be wishing the show never ends.
The art is where this show shines brighter than the Sun at midday. The flowing perfect animation that leaves you wanting more. Forget any battle you have seen in any main stream anime. This show is where its at! My first thought when I watched this was "and I liked the battles in One Piece?" This destroys everything in the animation department.
The characters will leave you wanting them to be more real than your imaginary friend Bill who burned the shed because he "felt like it" . You cannot ignore the culture impact Urara has on kids nowadays, showing that if you try hard. All your dreams will come through.
The ratings for this show at first made me a little nervous. I thought to myself why so low? I don't think I will like this. But as it is with most good shows, I think the lower rated it is, the better the show is! Mars of Destruction , Danzai Skelter+Heaven and this stand out so much. Head and shoulders above any anime ever created that the ratings went down so low due to how complicated they can be. You have to watch it about 69.69 times before the story finally settles in and you can appreciate the wonders of this show.
Just always remember that this show will have a massive impact on your life.
Other than this show, I can't find a better fantasy story.
How can a show be this good?
Never have I seen something perfected to this degree.
Culture will not be the same for you after seeing this.
Everyone will realise the creators behind this are the smartest ever.
Nobody will think otherwise.
And by checking the start of each of the last sentences of this paragraph. You will realise............The creator will never be found and will never make a show, quite like this
