The shows have a lot of similarities: great animation, reverse harem theme, motivational and feel-good tone to each episode, overall light and positive vibes. I guess if you want to be cynical you can say both shows follow the same 'script'. Personally I enjoyed them both and I think if you like one you'll definitely like the other.
-Both are reverse Harems
-Both Main Characters are girls that are surrounded by very talented boys
-Both MCs are talented
-Both MCs bring the boys together
-Both MCs are loved by all the boys in the groups
-Both animes take place in a school setting
I am surprised that nobody has recommended this anime has a fantastic sub for Prince Sama, bc Magic Kyun practically the 2017 version of the latter. And with lesser tropes+stunning visuals. Here are the similarities (copied from a YouTube comment):
- Both main characters have a dead family member
- Both talk to their dead family members about their accomplishments
- They transfer to a school for talented people
- Both characters fell ill on the day of their entrence exam
- They meet beautiful and super talented guys who gradually start liking the MCs
- Their room mates both have the same personalities
- Both characters are not nearly as talented enough as they need to be for the school
- They both are going to work super hard to get talent
Oh, and unlike in Prince Sama, the animators of Magic Kyun have made it clear which guy they're rooting for in the series. read more
Both have the same reverse harem, where it involves one girl with a bunch of guys, vying for the girl's affection, however, characterwise, the girl in Magic-Kyun is a bit more matured compared to the girl from Watashi ga Motete, whose is a bit on the immature side.
both are reverse harem
every boy desires her
This anime is highly recommend to people who loved watashi ga motete dousunda
They go to magic school instead of regular
Ambitions to fulfill their dream
If you liked the whole "Art turns into magic" thing you will probably like Prism Shows as they both mix performances with fantastic imagery.
Also, both have romance, some drama and very colourful art styles.
Gakuen Alce and Magic-Kyun! are both school based animes that primarily follow one girl, and a group of students with unique abilities.
Although it's not solely art and Gakuen Alice is primary school not high school there are a lot of similarities between the Arte of Light and the young Alice users.
Both of these bring you on a different adventure and they will both find ways to play with your heart and have you wondering where you're headed after getting through the 'introductory period'
The similarities are obvious once you begin watching them; musical, reverse harem, group bonding, and school life are a few similarities that stand out the most. The biggest difference in Starmyu is the absence of a female main character, Starmyu's cast is entirely made up of guys. Other than that their really isn't that big of a difference except the lack of romance replaced in Starmyu by a little bromance but with an all male cast what do you expect.
Similarities: reverse harem, girl that tries to learn something new and makes friends along the way, Inchijouji = Kazuki most of the characters are quite similar to be honest.
Differences: this is about classical music, the girl mc never even thought about playing an instrument but Kohana wanted to do magic.
