The main plot point involves real life reality and a 'dream world' that involves the two merging into one. Both have a main character who is female. Both center around characters developing or programming a piece of technology, software etc.

Both Napping Princess and Blackfox are about a teenage girl trying to protect her father's research from a large company. In both films the company had previous connections to one of the girl's parents. Also in both films the girl's mother died pre-story. (At least, that's what I assume happened to Rikka's mom. Kokone's mother was explained to be dead.) Both main character's assisted by machines Kokone with her tablet and self-driving motorcycle, and Rikka with the animal drones. Kokone carries a stuffed dog that used to belong to her mother, and one of the animal drones, Oboro, is a dog. Doggies for the win!

both movies are about one or two characters going into another world ( the way to get to it is different in both movies ), said other world is a fantasy world where stuff like kings and princesses exist, the main girl is a princess in the other world in both movies too maybe not exactly top tier anime movies imo but they're both alright for what they are, isekai anime movies, yes i know Napping Princess isn't classified as such but it's still isekai to me

i thought that both movies had a similar vibe, similar animation style, a main charater with almost the same personality and a similar relationship with the main male character, there's not really much else to it but i think that both movies are worth checking out at least once

Both movies are silly adventures about naives main protagonists solving absolutely everything with magic in their dreamlands.

Two films with very interesting and original ideas, executed in baffling and frustrating ways that have a good chance of leaving you annoyed. But they both have some good elements to enjoy if you can look past that.

Both are about dreams and reality clashing with each other and interacting!! They both have a similar feel to them

Both of the movie is basically a kids movie with the idea of "let's throw cool shit on screen and hope it makes sense." Which in the long run is not a bad thing per se. It shows the creative ideas and concepts that the everyone working on it had and it works. Fun movies, not taken seriously, just enjoy the gorgeous eye candy.
