I usually don´t watch this kind of anime, because I´m more into other genres.
But I have to say it is very cute (kawaii..ha). It´s animated nicely and the characters are all pretty unique. The voice acting is also fitting, aye, the naruto voice actor is also there! One episode is five minutes long, easy to watch in a short time break.
Blaze and Kuro are my cute otp
All in all, I liked it and I recommend this anime to people who like cute characters, "childish" anime or want to have a nice alternative to all the "triggering" anime xD
I have to say it was
made for children, but that doesn´t need to stop anyone from watching it.
There was so much comical drama. Super cute anime. I had just finished watching Polar Bear Cafe, and was looking for something similar to that. Nyanbo really hit the nail on the head. These robot cats, took me on a crazy adventure! The intro song was very catchy, and I looked forward to watching each episode. This anime has stunning art. It features real life backgrounds while having these computer animated Nyanbo which really add to the quirkiness. Like I said before, the intro song is very fun and uplifting, but as is the rest of the audio in this anime. They have perfect sound
effects for every situation. The Nyanbo are all super awkward creatures, but they all have their own, very distinct characteristics and personalities. Overall, I really enjoyed this anime. I would be delighted if there was a second season, but I don't feel its necessary to have one, as the first season didn't leave off on too much of a cliff hanger. It seems their adventures will just continue on.
A highly enjoyable, light-hearted adventure.
Nyanbo! is an anime about cat/robots that go searching for UFO parts, so that they might return back to their homeworld. Sounds enjoyable enough! I quickly gave it a watch and three things caught my eye immediately.
1. The art and sound.
The art of this is fantastic, and highly innovative. It was quite a new experience, watching characters in 3D interact with the world around them. You would expect there to be a few errors with art like this, but none were noticeable to me. The music, especially the intro song, is calming and adorable. The narrators voice was also calming, making
for a relaxing experience.
2.The (MAIN) characters. You wouldn't expect cats to show such character, but they all had motivations and personalities which felt familiar yet fresh. My only complaint here is that I am NOT a fan of Imouto, or "Loli" characters. Kotora annoyed me, honestly. Kuro saved the show for me, though. Having an ambiguously gendered character who was the most calm and rational of the Nyanbo was wonderful, and I like Kuro a lot.
3. The Story itself.
Now here is where I rated it most harshly. I know this anime is supposed to be cheerful and slightly predictable, but I felt like most of the episodes just blended together. That is to say, nothing extraordinary happens each episode. Tora, the leader, wants UFO parts. Shiro and Mike, the groups resident airheads, want to do nothing but play and annoy Tora. In most episodes, one of them causes a problem, and Tora has to fix it along with the 'help' of Kotora, while Kuro is often casted aside to do nothing. There is also a supporting cast consisting of Sabatora (Annoying Idol character), Kijitora (One-joke character who is often left out), The Wild Black gang (Who's only relevant character is Blaze) and the Mecha Nyanbos, who are supposed to be seen as antagonists but never come off as much of a threat. Honestly, half the time you forget most of the supporting cast is even there, and when they do show up, its to annoy Tora and prevent him from making any progress at all.
All in all, I loved the show, but I feel they could have developed the characters more, and even could have gone without a few episodes without much changing. I would watch a second season, but the first season ending wrapped everything up pretty well. 7/10.
