If you enjoy watching slice of life anime about hardworking women in the entertainment industry, Shirobako is also for you. It's got less shoujo ai comedic antics but the same charm is still there. Shirobako is also a bit grittier and more honest about the hardships of how an anime gets made. The women work so hard and they love getting together and sharing their dreams.
Slice of life comedies about working for a production company (game industry in New Game, and anime industry in Shirobako). Shirobako is more realistic, whereas in New Game, the focus is more on the comedy and 'moe', I find. Fans of either show will find plenty to enjoy here.
Oh, and both shows have cute girls, which makes everything better, naturally.
Both are slice-of-life comedies about people who work at a production company. In Shirobako, this is an anime production company, while in New Game!, they focus on game development. Both start when the MC is new to the job and explore the interactions between the people in the company as she gets used to her position. Shirobako more seriously focuses on anime development, while New Game! takes a more laid-back approach, devoting much of the screen time to cute moments between the girls. If you are looking for a more easy-going version of Shirobako with increased levels of cuteness, New Game! may be right for you. read more
If you felt that you wanted to know more about the life of working in the development of entertainment yet felt like New Game was oddly calm about it, I recommend Shirobako. Similar in that it has a female main character, and works in the entertainment industry (specifically anime), yet different in that it is much more fast paced, focuses almost all of its time to the development of anime (with little breaks as actual emotional breaks for the viewer as well), and amply summarizes the feeling of the industry as a whole, stress. Be warned, if New Game gave you a nice feel about the digital entertainment industry, Shirobako will most likely give you a stressed yet more realistic feeling for the industry. read more
Both are about production, Shirobako having a larging cast while New Game! has a much smaller, cuter cast. The former being anime production while the latter is about video game production. New Game!, however, is more laid back and leans towards to the slice of life genre while Shirobako is more on point with its narrative.
>Both have a Professional Environment
>Both about creating a "creative property"
>Honestly, Shirobako is much better than New Game as far as story and character development goes
>Shirobako has more drama, New Game! has more Moe.
Both of them equally show the process to making an anime, main character is same woman, Shirobako is better than New Game if you ask me, even them both is 80% similar but Shirobako hold a better storyline and longer.
Like New Game, but this time it's about making anime. Characters are college-aged and older and both seasons are in a company setting. You really get a feel for what goes into making an anime. There are many characters, but there are only 5 that you really need to focus on remembering as they're the main group of friends that the show is about. There's some humor, but this isn't a comedy, so don't expect a ton of it. It's overall pretty entertaining and interesting, and there are lots of relatable moments. More serious in tone than New Game!
Both are slice of life shows following a cute female cast of characters producing art. New Game! is about girls making art for video games while Comic Girls is about girls making manga. Both are great examples of the cute girls + activity subgenre of the cute girls doing cute things subgenre of slice of life, but you may like one over the other depending on if making video games or making manga is more interesting to you.
Both shows have cute girls doing cute things and both deal with interaction between a group of girls (no boys allowed) and about trying - one pc computer game and the other manga. Both ve similar characters and animation.
Cute girls in working life. In both series the main character follows her passion and joins a group of girls with similar interests. While working alongside them, she quickly learns that her job might not be as simple as she first thought.
Like New Game, but this time it's about making manga. Characters are younger and it's not in a company setting. There's more humor than New Game! and the characters (for the most part) are relatable. One season. I thought it was really fun to watch. Less serious in tone than New Game!
Both animes are about girls working on projects. New Game! is about making art for a video game while Comic Girls are about making manga. Both have bright and colorful animation styles and a good soundtrack.
New Game! features a cast of cute adult girls working at a game development company, while Stella no Mahou focuses on cute high school girls who are in a club that makes doujin (self-published) games. Both shows, while primarily focused on the cute girls, give some insight into the process of making and selling games.
Stella no Mahou is basically 'Amateur's New Game!'. By that I mean that in New Game!, one followed an adorable all-female cast of professional gamemakers on their way to a new title from the perspective of Aoba, who was new in the industry, whereas in Stella no Mahou, one follows an adorable all-female cast of highschoolers that want to make their own game from the perspective of Tamaki, who has little to no knowledge about making games.
I'd see this anime has many similarity in source, genres, and it's theme about game making. And both have not male chara too
Somethings differ is New Game! Are much popular than Stella no Mahou in both anime or manga and the characters average age.
♪Both is about a new girl that enter in a new thing (in YuruYuri, Chinatsu enter in the Nanamori Chu Goraku Bu - In New Game Aoba enter in Eagle Jump)
❤Both are about cute girls doing cute things
✿Both have a bit of yuri
★It is relaxing to see these animes
Made by the same studio, both Yuru Yuri and New Game are lighthearted slice of life anime. They both feature a group of girls who interact with each other, leading to comedic situations. If you enjoy watching lighthearted anime where cute girls do cute things, you'll probably like both series.
Both series were adapted by studio Doga Kobo. They both are typical CGDCT kind of anime with a bit of yuri fanservice thrown into the mix. The main focus is on the daily shenanigans of the main heroines.
- Group of girls and their everyday life (Kobayashi san have men too)
- Both have the same amount (in almost every episode) of Comedy/Slice of life and a good equilibrium in both.
- Similar random events related to the anime location (Kobayashi san - Home/New Game - Work)
- Both have a little feeling of yuri
It was going to be just another day at the office, but then *she* turned up.
Sure, while in the case of 'New Game!' it was a new employee, and in 'Kobayashi-san' a giant, enamoured dragon; either will entertain a slice-of-life fan as they enjoy a comedy soup with just a dash of drama. If you like mostly female casts, get ready to gradually explore them, their histories and their motivations one by one as you watch lesbian romances disguised as friendships blossom.
Do you like an amazingly written plot which actually moves forward very subtly and an outstanding cast of cute, all-female characters? Both K-On as well as New Game have this in store for you! Both animes are about an all-female cast having fun together, while subtly reaching a goal which doesn't seem obvious at the time but is revealed at the end. Just as in K-on, New Game has this awesome chemistry between all the characters, as they're all friends working towards the same goal. They eat and drink together, have fun together and work hard together. Both shows rely heavily on cuteness and comedy, while being very subtle about it's plot line. read more
The series are both lighthearted comedies that feature cute girls doing cute things. Despite being slice of life anime, they both have a slowly advancing plot. In both shows, the main character joins a group of girls and they end up working towards a common goal. If you enjoy watching lighthearted anime with cute girls in them, you'll probably like both shows.
Both of the main characters are girls who are trying to fit in with their new coworkers and most of the story for both is about cute girls doing cute stuff. The overall atmosphere of both shows feels similar because it's in a working environment.
Both shows have cute girls that are in a working environment which mostly focuses on the character interactions and moe part rather than the work itself. The shows are really similar but just with a different work environment.
Cute girls in a work environment. Both are slice-of-life comedies that begin with the MC first starting her job. There is an age difference between the two, as the characters in New Game! are actually adults, but the MC looks like she could fit right in with the girls in GochiUsa. The shows focus on character interactions, cuteness, and comedy. Both are great choices if you're in the mood for something lighthearted.
VERY SIMILAR. Focuses just on girls, with hints of yuri and fan service. Main 4 girls who are trying to do their job's under the guidance of a few mature women who are older than them and lots of hints between yuri there as well. very similar animation, and overall feel despite being no shared producers, studios or licencors.
They are both extremely cute series! If you want yuri undertones, they both provide. Urara has the better character development though, but that's only the case until New Game!! Urara also has a focused plot.
Both shows set in a workplace and revolve around various characters and their joint interaction such building relationships and the struggle to make progress with its ensuing developement. Both are cute, cheerful and very enjoyable.
Basically same concept: girls that starts working for anime/game industry, and so they have to face the problem of every day like character designer Aoba/ seiyuu Chitose.
Both plots are funny with little drama parts.
Definitely better cast for New Game! but Chitose woths 1mld of Aoba
Both animes are about making video games.
Both have fun characters.
Sodatekata has a bit more of a romantic element to it while New Game is just a bunch of girls chilling and having fun.
Both are great, if you're into the whole game creation or things like that you'll enjoy them
Bith shows are about making games.
Newgame: focuses on on the art of the game and overall making of a game in general. w/ brief periods of friendship and comedy w/ no romance. The 2nd season also adds in a focus of art and coding as well. Plus there's a bigger focus on the game making then there is in Saenai.
Saenei: focuses on teh art and story of a game w/ long periods of romance.
The thing about these two is that both of them are similar in the sense that gaming and women do connect with one another in how much they try to have adult-made responsibilities. This show is hilarious, and while not jam packed, it still brings a great touch to those who want to see more girls play games both figuratively and literally.
- Group of 4 girls and their everyday life (Gabriel - School/New Game - Work)
- Both have the same amount of comedy on every episode
- Similar artstyle and random events related to the anime location (School/Work)
Both shows are cute and focus about a group of characters who love games. New Game! is more slice of life and comedy, while Gamers is just comedy. Both casts are very lively and fun to watch. Gamers also tries to show couples with two parties that both love games, while New Game! has an all girls cast, unless you read the one manga chapter that has 1 guy (sorry for the spoiler, but it shouldn't be a big deal). The art style is cutesy in both anime. There are fun antics between the cast members in both shows. Every episode of both anime bring about at least some laughter. I personally like New Game! a lot more , but both shows are fun and enjoyable; I just find one way more fun and enjoyable than the other, but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment you'll get from Gamers. read more
In both anime you can watch a main character entering the first part of being an adult by getting a job and making life choices. You see them grow and take up challenges in daily routine.
Even the side characters are drawn very detailed and cute, a must-watch for every Moe lover out there.
You wanna see moe girls doing moe things in a slice of life style story while the characters all have a common, set goal that will (eventually) be achieved? Watch both seasons of K-On! if you're into New Game!, the premise might be slightly different, but the structure remains the same and you're still getting mini heart attacks from the overload of cuteness.
-Both shows have mostly female characters
-Both shows revolve around the girls working together (One on games, the other on ships)
-Both have comedy, but New Game has more SOL while High School Fleet has more action
cute girls doing cute things in cute outfits
MOE as fuck
both come from 4 koma manga
if ur looking for a show that can be a place holder to some new yuru yuri you cant go wrong with either of these shows
Both anime are based around a bunch of kids that have extraodrinary talent. I'd suggest you watch both anime if you want a good laugh (at how bad they are or how good they are if you're into that kind of thing).
Bottom-line: If you like to see kids being little Einsteins, watch it; if not, it'll be a good laugh! :)
Although New game has barely anything to do with survival games ( besides Umiko who likes them) both animes are filled with cute girls and give off the same vibe. Similarities include -
-Similar cute girl characters
- Similar character interactions and friendships
- Same slight moe vibe
- Similar character antics
For me New Game wasn't just another anime about cute girls- It was an honest story about the game industry. Each episode left me extremely motivated to get to work just like Bakuman. Both are stories about creative people working hard on the things they love!
Both are heartwarming. In both animes characters put their hearts and souls into their work, everyone is working together and becoming really close like a family. Both animes show how much work is being put into their work and how ridiculously hard it is and how much we take things that were being made for us for granted.
Both series have a new hire as the main character getting to know the (all-female) workplace and the relationships that are already established in it, as well as establishing relationships of her own (with clear yuri undertones). The main difference is that New Game! is in a realistic setting while Konohana Kitan is a fantasy with fox girls.
-Both anime tell about everyday life in working world (New Game in game company and SxS in government office).
-Both anime story take place in office.
-Both anime have many jokes and comedies about problem in work and problem with their co-workers.
Did you think Sakura Trick needed nicer art and vaguer lesbians? Well, you're in luck!
Both slice-of-life comedies set in a world where men barely seem to exist, New Game! and Sakura Trick revolve around starting a new chapter in life - Yuu and Haruka start high school, and Aoba starts her first job at a video game company. Wonderfully designed characters tackle the challenges that accompany their transition, such as making new friends and adjusting to the change.
The two series are both about younger girls entering the working life in specific branches, with all the responsibilities it entails. Even though they are educational, they still manages to be light-hearted Slice of Life series where the senpai's care about their kōhai's.
