Gakusen Toshi Asterisk 2nd Season

The 2nd season of Asterisk wars was a little better than season 1, had good battles, and good character development for some characters. It was good in a lot of terms, there was a cliffhanger set at the end of the season.

What I particularly liked about this season is some of the fights and the character development.

There are some flashy fights, decent animation, and art style I would say, there are still a lot of mysteries to be solved though.

You can enjoy it if you have seen season1 and understood the whole plot of it.

I give it 6/10.

Unfortunately, this is a disappointing second season to what could have been great. There is so much that could be done with this anime but nothing is done with it, which is a missed opportunity.

The story continues from season one, and unfortunately gets dulled down substantially. The focus is mainly set on the tournament from before and the goals of our characters. This whole season is pretty much just a setup, and nothing else. Certain things happen, but they only happen in order to make the story feel less dull and washed out, which doesn't work.

The characters are who we've known from the first season, ... but they don't feel the same as they used to. They all feel a bit toned down for some reason, which is unfortunate as characters can really help increase the feel and quality of an anime, even if the story is as bad as this.

Animation-wise, this is the only category that has received more attention. The art is substantially better than the first season. It's unfortunate that this is the only area where the quality improves and seems like a waste on an anime like this.

I was excited to watch this season, but that excitement was immediately shot down. There is so much that could be improved, but nothing is done with it. Extremely disappointing, and if this gets a third season, I hope it has 24 episodes so the story doesn't feel cramped and rushed.

After a mostly promising first season, the 2nd season turned out to be one of the most disappointing sequels I've seen. This is the season of the never-ending tournament arc, pointlessly drawn out after starting all the way back in the first season. If you like to see a plot actually progress, avoid this anime. If the tournament stretching on forever wasn't bad enough, the main antagonists being... mechs... fighting against humans in this tournament was beyond mind-bogglingly bad and completely uninteresting. This anime had gobs of potential with a lively fantasy world with a good harem and characters, then decides to spin out, beat ... the tournament to death, add pointless side-stories mid-tournament that don't offer main plot progression, and by the time the tourney ends, it is far too late to salvage anything of worth from this story.
