Game becomes reality

Both anime have lots and lots and LOTS of SEGA cameos and references. You may find some enjoyment out of it if you're a diehard SEGA fan and just want to see stuff related to your favorite videogame company. SeHa Girls referenced the game that the show is based off in some episodes.

Well, aside from the fact that both have the same settings, harem, and cyberpunk, it both also has that girl going after boy, but on a character level, the guy in Phantasy star as an achiever while the guy in was more of a loser/otaku, in other areas, the girl looking for the boy in phantsy is an avatar that came to life while the girl from Netoge was very much nuts. Can I say that?

In general, both involve characters enjoying regular life with friends and going into the world of MMO game trying to complete a mission/quest through team work. SAO has a serious tone while PSO2 is much lighter and SoL like, but both exhibits strong companionship in the real world and in the virtual world.

Anime based on real life MMORPG that isn't focusing just on the in-game events, but shows us the lifes of the players outside the game.
