The story takes place one year after the OVA.

Because of the previous war, Kabucki-cho was devastated, and the owner abandoned his lingerie pub, "Pallion," and opened "New Papillion" in Akihabara. During the war, Tsubomi, and her colleagues Anne and Shizuku lost their memories, and they began new lives in Akihabara.

On the other hand, the Susano, aliens who were invading the Earth, appeared. They turned a UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animal) into a monster and make it raid on Akihabara. Rama the cat made Tsubomi and her buddies retrieve their memories, and let them fight against the monster as Lingerie Soldiers.

I don't know what possessed me to watch this anime but I did.

Okay some backstory:
I was perusing Hulu looking for something hilariously bad to watch. After some time I cam across Papillon Rose. This anime presented itself as a raunchy parody of a typical magical girl anime which, to me, looked like something interesting and at a short 7 episodes too. The first episode came up and it was hilariously raunchy to an unbelievable extent. I loved it so I move onto the next episode and... It was completely different. It turns out that first episode was read more

Given the voracity of the backlash against the "not-so-bad" rating that Papillon Rose received upon initial viewing by a fellow reviewer, I am certain that many readers eagerly anticipate a reviewer that, upon broader viewing (or even being of dissimilar gender from the original critic), will vindicate their pristine opinion of this title. Unfortunately you, the reader, are stuck with me. While I don't think poorly of this title by any stretch of the imagination, the buzz pervading Papillon Rose is plainly more hype than substance.
So where does the hype begin you ask? Right off the bat. From the very beginning of episode one this read more

This is a review of the DVD version of the “Papillon Rose” TV series released by Maiden Japan in 2010. It was viewed with English subtitles. Note that the same DVD also includes the OVA “Lingerie Soldier Papillon Rose" which I have separately reviewed previously.

"Papillon Rose" is intended to be a comedic parody of magical girl series such as “Sailor Moon” and “Cutie Honey” with some ecchi content. The show includes some sci-fi and magic elements.

Parental Advisory:
The age rating on the DVD packaging is listed as MA (so 17 and up). However, this rating primarily applies to the OVA episode , and the content read more
