Synopsis

In the year 2015, more than a decade has passed since the catastrophic event known as Second Impact befell mankind. During this time of recovery, a select few learned of beings known as the Angels—colossal malevolent entities with the intention of triggering the Third Impact and wiping out the rest of humanity.

Called into the city of Tokyo-3 by his father Gendou Ikari, teenager Shinji is thrust headlong into humanity's struggle. Separated from Gendou since the death of his mother, Shinji presumes that his father wishes to repair their shattered familial bonds; instead, he discovers that he was brought to pilot a giant machine capable of fighting the Angels, Evangelion Unit-01. Forced to battle against wave after wave of mankind's greatest threat, the young boy finds himself caught in the middle of a plan that could affect the future of humanity forever.

The modern/current official version of this is a recap of a series that is absolutely amazing, nice if you need time to absorb and think about NGE before moving on or if its been a while and you need a reminder. Otherwise go on to End of Evangelion.

Still a 7/10 because the original series is so amazing and a lot that isn't lost in the abridged version, though in no circumstance should this be viewed as a replacement of the original series.

Apparently I need to write a review but I've really said all I need to say here and any adintional commentary ...

Mixed Feelings
An alright recap considering the fact that the series was 10 hours long and was condensed into only 1 hour and 44 minutes.

There were some scenes that were not in the series so that was really nice. Instead of going by order they had these short introductions for each of the characters throughout the beginning of the series until the end and then all of a sudden it went all over the place. I don't think a newcomer would really understand alot from this recap. And the other "half" was Rebirth, which was the beginning of the End of Evangelion.

Overall an ok movie with ...

The Recap You Can Run Way From

evangelion: death (true)2 Is a recap that feels completely unneeded.

I love the show, it is one of my favorites of all time, But this is not presented in an interesting way, It's just plot point on plot point and there's not anything new to make it worth sitting through.

Even if you have a amnesia and have forgotten this show, this would not give you any reasoning to like or care about the characters. It is just so useless.

Boring is the only word to describe it. would not recommend even if you want to watch the end of evangelion.

Religion and Symbolism in Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion is probably one of the most polarizing anime series in existence. It's an intricate work with some strong symbolism which few people properly understand. Let's take a deeper look at what it borrows from religion and esoteric mysticism.
