A bit unsettling that this was a children's story.
As a young girl sleeps soundly on Christmas night , her teddy bear awakens to a phone call. He puts on military fatigues, steps outside and there are audible gunshots.
This is a clear reference to all the soldiers across the world who have to leave loved ones at a moments notice to fight for their country, just with a cute teddy bear instead of an actual human to make it more accessible to children. A beautiful instrumental hums in the background making it hard to not get a little emotional.
If you enjoy shorts with a
tinge of sadness/real worth truth to them, this may be for you. The first that I've seen from children's story writer Taku Furukawa so packed with feels.
