Synonyms: Kirby of the Stars Special Episode: Take it Down! The Crustacean Monster Lobzilla,Kirby of the Stars: Beat the Crustaceous Demon Beast Lobzilla!, Kirby Right Back at Ya HD Episode 101 Kirby 3D (3DS Special)
Special 3-D animated short based on Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. It was released on the Wii channel in Japan. It features the never-before-seen monster named Lobzilla. Fire Kirby makes a special appearance, as does a new Kirby ability exclusive to the short called Kabuki. Seeing that Nightmare Enterprises is active and Dedede's transporter is operative, this episode may have taken place before episodes 96-100.
This was some impressive CG. Although it kind of looks bad, it is still impressive. This was a pretty weird episode (and I’m saying episode, because there is only one episode), yet, I can’t explain all my emotions at once. Just, everything, it’s just hard to explain a one-episode anime. This will be my review on the 3DS Special of Hoshi no Kirby, which is English means Kirby: Right Back at Ya!.
I can safely say this episode was hilarious, weird, and a bit bad. First of all, we got a new villain. A lobster that I think probably doesn’t deserve to be a villain much.
However, this is all we get, so we have to deal with it. The lobster’s name is Lobzilla, since the lobster can turn into a huge monster-like Godzilla lobster. There is also veteran Tiff, Kirby, Tuff, King Dedede, Meta Knight, and last but definitely not least, Meta Knight. I can say that all these characters were done good, but the one with a good comedic update was Kirby.
The good comedic update was his surprising new form, Kabuki Kirby. It looks pretty weird on Kirby, but let’s just deal with it. I don’t like it much, but like I said, let’s just deal with it. Everyone else hasn’t changed, so let’s move on. The CG doesn’t look that good, but I said this before; it was impressive. The animation is decent, really decent. There’s something that’s bad about it, and the thing that was bad is that it didn’t pull it off perfectly. This is just your average 3D anime. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes neutral, pretty much.
The art didn’t do much on me. It looked like something that was copied, pasted, and edited out from another 3D anime (i.e. Berserk), which is what the negative things are about this 3D episode. This 3DS special wasn’t really special, anyway. The story was pretty well done. Impressive, but not impressive enough. I won’t say it’s horrible though. Just necessarily not good and not bad either. It was just not interesting. I can forget about this episode anytime, but as for the positivity…
...it’s well written. I bet the writer enjoyed doing this, because if he did, I can see why, because it would be really fun if I wrote this. This is one really thought-out anime episode, and I can definitely see why. The sound was good, too. It was perfect, it just hit me with a rocket. However, I cut off a few pieces of that rocket, which means there was something wrong. This music is overused. Just not necessarily bad, just simply overused. But hey, at least they gave us some new songs like that one Kabuki Kirby song. Congratulations.
I liked some bits of the anime. I did say some bits. Bit by bit by bit, and I liked many scenes. It’s just that the scenes were, well, not done well. It’s good, but not done well. I liked almost everything about what was on the screen, but not everything. Just almost everything. I am pretty disappointed about how they didn’t play the opening, or at least I don’t think they played the opening. It looked pretty incredible, everything they did was really good. I am enjoying it!
An anime special that promise but didn't live it out. In the introduction there a couple things one could appreciate. Such as the number countdown. It was a great common idea to built anticipation. Although the slight moment of pitch black darkness with just noise did make sense but was kind of odd. What followed was a good premise of basically what the story's plot revolved around.
Then the artwork or story becomes tailored to what seems like a personal fashion to the viewer. A real nice merger for connection. Clear indication on enemies reason(s) for ending kirby. What ruined the show
for me was basically everything that followed after this moment. What was thought to be a tailored presentation wasn't what one might have thought. The color style shown thus far didn't stay. And as for reasoning for any of the following characters let's just say it was a crap shoot. For example in a non spoiler fashion if i gave you a creature that was showed great promise in destroying with a mind ability. Don't you think if given a change that that same ability would be used if its goal was in its hands? Or, in terms of kirby's special ability how does it go from addition to straight up multiplication? For those not familiar with kirby's ability, let's say he absorbs attacks. So, that fight fire with fire philosophy is commonly used here.
Character flaws aside show didn't present good morals for the kids. From an economic perspective sure doesn't teach the means of a dollar or savings.
