Coming out four years after the start of Hokuto no Ken, Sakigake! Otokojuku is another classic old school shonen! Featuring similarly over muscular fighters it deviates from Hokuto by adding in a comedy aspect. With an awesome mix of masculinity, pride, strength and humor, Fans of old school Shonen will fall in love with this series. Though the series lacks the constant flow of kills that Hokuto no Ken had, you will be sure to find that it is just as badass. Similarly if you Started off with Otokojuku, Hokuto no Ken is another action packed series that you should acquaint yourself with.

The worst of the worst, the toughest of the toughest, both share the all badass outcasts reputation and ofc the rivaling schools fights, only in sakigake the diffrence is that classmates are training to be the baddest motherfuckers on the planet and its is more martialarts orientated than kyou kara ore wa!!

Similar anachronistic club/school where honor is everything and first half. Karate Bu's just edgier.

Both shows have similar comedy styles and setting, they are imprisoned in a school for bad behavior trying to get better. In Prison school their goal is to be less perverted as a result the show focuses more on ecchi, while in Sakigake their goal is to become true men through pain an suffering, there is time to waste with fickle women in Otokojuku!

Both anime are Jump adaptations from the 80's and are about a main character in a school fighting their way to the top. Both have a good sense of comedy, but also have great actions scenes which will keep you watching.

Aside from having protagonists with similar personalities, Momotaro & Jotaro, both series focus on the 80's masculine spirit while containing multiple battles. Otokojuku features physical combat often resorting to fictional martial arts while JoJo is more horror themed with supernatural powers, however both are filled with very over-the-top elements as both authors may have inspired each other.

Both series feature fictional martial arts with plenty of over-the-top creativity. Expect manly men doing manly things and concluding with tournament arcs.

Altho the main story is radically different, they both have a heavy dose of school delinquents.

Both are old school shonen of the 1980's which originally debuted as comedies but gradually become focused on tournament battles. A flaw in both shows are characters constantly dying only to be revived in some ludicrous method. However, both shows are so outrageously manly that you will look over some low points.

Both series contain manly protagonists taking place in a high school setting where various brutal fights occur. Sakigake Otokojuku is a tribute to Fist Of The North Star which focuses on competitive school spirit in 1 on 1 fights while Battle Royal involves demons & various supernatural abilities. Battle Royal High School has a very messy & bizarre plot but manages to include great action in its limited time frame.

Both shonen series are from the 1980's which were inspired by Fist Of The North Star. Otokojuku begins with comedy while JoJo follows a traditional vampire story. What JoJo and Otokojuku have in common include the following: 1. Similar main characters as Momotaro & Jonathan are modeled after Kenshiro in terms of appearance and similar in personality. 2. A very testosterone heavy tone embracing unselfish acts of heroism and bravery. 3. Can be ridiculous but in very entertaining way. 4. Fights focus on fictional martial arts and very unbelievable strategies. 5. Stories contain tragic events expressing its signature concept of "manly tears". 6. Momotaro & Jotaro are very similar especially  read more
