This is an offshoot of the OVA Yakin Byoutou. For my thoughts on the show/offshoots in general, see my review here(URL): http://myanimelist.net/reviews.php?id=198538
There are a few things that deviate from the central show, however.
Story: It's only 1 episode. Can't develop much here(though it helps to have watched Yakin Byoutou prior to viewing this). Events flow relatively well. Like I said before, it's tough to do anything climactic or complex in such a short time, so it falls short here. 6/10
Art: Keeps the same art styles as Yakin Byoutou. Great stuff. 9/10
Soundtrack: I heard very few segments of music here. It's not a bad thing, since I think overbearing music may ruin the mood, but the subtle soundtrack that is present in YB is rarely present here. 7/10
Characters: Nanase Ren. Nurse practitioner. Mind is broken. She's great in YB and in here. Mysterious doctor. NOT RYUJI, DAMNIT. Anther main character. He exhibits a lot of Ryuji's characteristics present in YB, but it's simply not him. It's like a shell of the god-like character that dominated YB. 5/10
Enjoyment: To be honest, I thought this was a great release. A little extra something on the side, like some mashed potatoes to go with your Yakin Byoutou sirloin steak. 8/10
Overall, I feel a strong 6 to a light 7. Pretty good stuff!
