Fans of shimamoto's hot-blooded characters will probably like Gouda Jouji, the main character of Akane Maniax who somehow manages to transform this sappy melodrama that is rumbling hearts into a series full of loud screaming, sweat and determination.

One word "Muv-Luv", they may have a very different genre and belong to different "universe", but Akane Maniax takes place in Muv-Luv universe but in Gouda perspective (it's a prequel to the Muv-Luv VN where Meiya hasn't transferred yet). Meanwhile Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse takes place in Muv-Luv Alternative universe but in Yui perspective. Only Hardcore Muv-Luv VN fans want to watch all of this kind of anime LOL

Both series involves around a protagonist who is seen as a delinquent. He later develops a crush on the main female protagonist of the series and attempts to win her affections. The main protagonist's personality is also similar...with both series taking place in a school life setting. Both series has a lot of comedy, drama, and romance.

Sousuke Sagara, the male protagonist of Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, is a boy who was raised on the battlefields of war-torn Afghanistan. Although he's an experienced mecha pilot, he lacks basic social skills, and much of the comedy in the series stems from his "fish out of water" experience in trying to adjust to life as a normal Japanese high school student. Jouji Gouda, the male protagonist of Akane Maniax, was obviously born to be the hotblooded pilot with the lead role in a super robot show.
