(This is my first review, so excuse me if some things are screwed up.)
-- PAPERMOON REVIEW # 1 - Zou no Senaka: Tabidatsu Hi --
Well, Zou no Senaka is a 7 Minute OVA, so this is not going to be a very long review.
Story - 6
What this OVA has for a story is short, but touching. What part about an elephant leaving his family to die alone doesn't touch somewhere in your heart?
Art - 7
The animation looks like someone drew it with a colored pencil. It's like some picture books I read as
a child, which is why it gave me a sort of nostalgic feeling.
Sound - 7
There are no sound effects or anything, just one song playing throughout the OVA, and the song sounds like it has some pretty sad lyrics, but I couldn't understand most of it, because the person on YouTube I got the video from put the subtitles in Thai.
Character - 4
QUESTION: In 7 minutes, how much feelings can you develop for a character?
ANSWER: Not much.
There are 4 characters, all of them being anthropomorphic elephants: a mother, a father, a son, and a daughter. A typical family cast, we've all seen something like this before.
Enjoyment - 5
I didn't really enjoy this OVA, I just found it while browsing some of the least popular anime on this website, and I said "why the hell not?", found it on YouTube, and watched it. This isn't part of any TV series or anything, it's a standalone OVA. Unless you get enjoyment from picture book styled animation, then you won't enjoy it more than most people.
OVERALL - 6
This OVA has a deep and slightly depressing story (if you can call it that), some pretty decent art, calm music, and barely any time to get attatched to the characters, which is sometimes a good thing for me, because whenever I get attatched to a character, they end up dying. I won't mention any of those titles though.
Thank you for reading! Feel free to tell me how I screwed up!
