In both series, the protagonist is a powerful person of demonic origin, dressed in red, who is nearly invincible, has superhuman abilities and two big handguns of different colors. He is employed by humans to fight other demons in exceptionally gory and stylish ways on a daily basis. The animation style is also somewhat similar.

Both are superhuman beings (Sebastian and Alucard) under contract to english nobility (Ciel and Integra). Even though the main aim of the two animes are different, (revenge vs elimination of vampires), they are almost cut from the same cloth! However, Hellsing tends to be darker and more bloody.

Vampires, priests and lots of fights. Fairly similar storylines, Vampire that kills Vampires. Oh irony.

The animetion style of these 2 animes look really alike, And in both we have a hero with a really big Gun ;)

If you love vampire anime, this won't disappoint you :)

Gore. Gore. Gore. :D Elfin Lied has a pretty originl storyline, too - and like Hellsing, there's a load of blood, horror and psychotic stuff going on. XD

It has vampires and both the main character and Alucard look strangely alike. Black Blood, however, is more concerned with the nature of vampires, although it also has its share of awesome fight scenes. WATCH IT!

The whole time I watched Black Lagoon, it reminded me of Hellsing. Quite similar art in both anime titles, as well as characters. Hellsing is overall more supernatural than Black Lagoon, and a bit more serious and Black Lagoon a little more easy going, but I would would say that if you liked one of them, you'll like the other one.

Both are anime feature powerful vampires (D is technically a Dunpeal), that hunt other vampires and other supernatural nasties! The sequel "Bloodlust" is great as well!

Vampires are scary, with blood and gore everywhere. Neither series shies away from the blood and gore, but they also put a level of humanity into the picture bringing into the picture this idea that there is more to the vampire than just a blood thirsty monster with no thought of anything but survival. Scratch that, survival is still a major proponent, but it is no longer about just looking out for oneself as both series present vampires as a having some form of group effort. This isn't a unique trait, yet for these series which are older series from Japan, that is one of  read more

Though for no real reason, I find that these two shows would appeal to those who prefer to be more on the... serious side of things, Witch Hunter Robin is about has funny as Hellsing (Which isn't saying much.) but it makes up for it in intrigue of the story line.

When you have a bloody past and the world around you is nothing but cruel, the only thing that remains to you is KILL. P.S. Not for fainthearted :D

Both are definitive gunslinger animes. Hellsing is more gratuitously visceral and fun. Trigun has more drama and THE BEST villain of all time, my homeboy Legato.
report Recommended by JudeccaCocytus
Both anime are about vampires. Some vampires wish to do harm and have some sort of evil plan but the main character tries to stop them. In Vampire Guilty it takes a while for the action to start also because this anime is about more than just the action and bloodshed. It also involves romance and therefor Vampire Knight is more a shoujo while Hellsing is more a shounen.

Both are supernatural action horror. Both have ghouls eating people. Both are gory and violent.
report Recommended by abystoma2
Both are focused on an organization that fights against vampires.

If you love blood and mystery, carnage then you won't be disappointed with this one . Alucard is similar to two firends tied by fate and Seras is similar to a friend of those two ,also a female . So if you liked Hellsing ,you'll watch Zombie-Loan to :)

Vampires killing vampires is the key aspect both series share. In addition to that both Alucard and Blade fights for the sake of a human being, and dedicate their life for accomplishing that goal of theirs. Action pack, violent, gory, what else can i say...
report Recommended by Lamii
Both are from the same producer, artwork and overall feeling is pretty similar. In both animes are the main characters an important part of an origanization which is fighting against the evil.
report Recommended by Bishamonten
gives you the same feeling of the anime, and shares the dark and sinister p.o.v

well...they are both really awesome horror anime, and they have tons of bloodshed. also dont watch ether if its nighttime :D

Maybe the only one thing that links these series together is the main characters. Neuro and Alucard are both from Hell (in some way) and have connections with devils. Both of them have young, not very smart and quick-witted female assistants. And finally they have the same charisma, arisen from their nature.

Violence. Action. Paramilitary organizations. These keywords are sure to resonate with you. Spriggan and Hellsing try to deliver on this content to various degree of success. Although Spriggan is not a finished anime, it will likely share a similar structure as Hellsing. The first part of Hellsing is episodic before incorporating an overarching narrative into the storyline. Hellsing is definitely the better anime with its cooler characters, but Spriggan does have its own appeal with its fluid animation.

Bloody and violent as Deadman Wonderland, but with a storyline completely diferent.
report Recommended by dimismr
Both have a similar tactics in killing opponent , and contain similar violence .
report Recommended by _Mezzo
Both are very action heavy and have very little story, and instead focus on their action

Both are supernatural action horrors featuring a vampire. Both have lot of violence and fighting scenes. Both have old animation and were later remade with new animation. While in Hellsing the vampire is main character, in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure the main character is fighting against vampire.

Nazi = Soviet Empire Takes place near and before WW2 Tanya and Alucard are quite similar judging by it's character Both are Hella Twisted with Pure Insanity.. as one to be defeat God (X)

Hellsing and Vanitas no Karte are both anime about vampires! Both have a similar setting and vibe as well. Both can be pretty bloody as well, more so in Hellsing. Alucard and Seras have a somewhat similar dynamic to Vanitas and Noe. Vanitas no Karte is a much better anime than Hellsing, however. If you like Hellsing, you’ll like Vanitas no Karte. It doesn’t work the other way around, however.

the relationship between Frankenstein and Cadis Etrama Di Raizel is similar to that of Integra and Alucard

In both series, the protagonist is extremely powerful who is nearly invincible and have crazy personality. Both series also have gore and zombies as well.
report Recommended by TeriosMC
Both are similar stories about powerful monsters taking on human apprentices. Hellsing has more physical violence, but Ancient Magus' Bride has more emotional violence.
report Recommended by Thiol
Gore? Bloodshed? Assassination? Killing in brutal ways? No one survives? All of them! That's what defines these. Key difference is that Hellsing has an infinitely badass aura to it. Akame ga Kill!, on the other hand, is shallow.
report Recommended by NatoBoram
Both are ultra violent and bloody action packed supernatural themed series where its human vs pretty much inhuman and also lots of hectic shit happening throughout the story as well too.
report Recommended by Disapeared_Ghost
In both series the main characters hunt people similiar to them. Alucard it's a vampire from an anti-vampire organization(Hellsing) and in Ao no Exorcist we've the son of Satan(Okumura, Rin) becoming an exorcist.

Even though Murder Princess is based in a medieval type of period and Hellsing is based in present day england they still hold similar styles. The weapons of old time in Murder Princess are basically weapons that we use now or what they use in Hellsing. Though for the main characters one is a crazy vamipire and the other a girl who likes to fight they are similar in certain ways. Alita doesn't mind getting splattered in blood and sometimes it looks like she enjoys it. Both animes have a good amount of gore, violence, and good dose of Action. The story lines may  read more

Hellsing can be considered a bit more violent and gruesome, but it has the same concept with the "living" undead, vampires, and the fact that both of the main characters fight and destroy their own race.
report Recommended by AuroraStar
These are similar, because the both have demons and zombies, if u like gore, you'll like both.
report Recommended by DarkRomanek
Both are violent and fun to watch.
report Recommended by AfterHours
they're similarities are they have a secret organization.. but hellsing (just in night) and in d.gray-man (well..a even a day) also both of them have a secret weapon that can be used as weapon.. such as alucard at hellsing and allen walker in d.gray-man hope u to watch it =3

Both have a lot of gore in them and are fun to watch, just great overall show's really, you should try them out. (they also have badass main characters aswell XD)
report Recommended by carefullkiller
The respective main characters are secret nightmarish weapons, and when they unleash their powers, they become almost invincible monsters and they can't fully control theirself. They appear to be evil, but they kill true villains instead. Meanwhile the world is upset by wars. The shows may contain violent death of children.
report Recommended by Disillusion
Somewhat confusing series about morally ambiguous ancient vampires in a more-or-less modern setting with a great deal of fighting, gore, and stylized violence.

Paramilitary forces, guns and eccentric characters.
report Recommended by noirgrimoir
Blood gore and violence is in both of these, hellsing has little to no ecchi but they both have a great stroy are short and dark, i'd say both series left me wanting more but still felt like there was closure If you like one you'll like the other

Both are stories related to vampires. Allucard, as like as Saya, kill their own kin. Lots of blood and enjoyment garanteed!
report Recommended by Patty_chan
Seras and Kasahara are very similar to one another. Both women are capable, upbeat, naive, and reliable. They become an important an irreplacable part of their military units. Though the series have a different atomosphere from one another, they both are excellent and highly recommended.
report Recommended by _Hanamaru_
Both have characters that are a little off socially, have strong abilities, and who really like fighting teamed up with characters who fight, but are soft hearted.
report Recommended by indi135
Both of these series are set in a post-war era, reminiscent of World War I & II. It shows the struggles of rebuilding after the war, and the horrors of ensuing conflict. In Hellsing and Pumpkin Scissors, Germany becomes a place where professional killers are created. Both Alucard and Oland have a similar way of dealing with violence and war. They both have a mental switch that gets turned on when they are facing danger. Alucard and Oland become crazed killing machines, that surpass the strength of normal humans. Hellsing is darker than Pumpkin Scissors, but they both have the same sort of feeling.
report Recommended by _Hanamaru_
This anime is also about the organization, which fights with evil spirits and kills daemons.
