Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn)

The kingdom of Kouka is blessed with a beautiful princess whose childlike innocence charms all who come across her. Named Yona, she has grown up sheltered in the royal palace, shielded from any danger that may befall her. However, all good things must come to an end.

Yona's perfect world comes crashing down when a heinous act of treason threatens to erase all that she holds dear, including her birthright as the princess of Kouka. Left with no one to trust but her childhood friend and loyal bodyguard Son Hak, she is forced to flee the palace. Faced with the perils of surviving in the wild with a target on her back, Yona realizes that her kingdom is no longer the safe haven it once was.

Free from the shackles of naivety, Yona vows to do everything in her power to become strong enough to crush her enemies. With Hak by her side, she must piece together the remains of an ancient legend that might be the key to reclaiming her kingdom from those who conspired to steal it from her.

Give the show a chance. Let it pull you in and you wont regret it. I say it's pretty mild for an adult but I would rate it moderate for teens due to lots of sexual comments, advances and it covers a topic later in the season that is all too real but often overlooked today. We are romantics but love a good fight seen and comedy. This show not only had those but pretty great character development for what was shown. The art style was also pretty darn good. IT NEEDS ANOTHER SEASON in order to complete the character development. It is absolutely outrageous ...

Now let's talk about Yona herself. She starts off more helpless than a hare in a snowstorm but don't be fooled, she doesn't stay that way. Our fiery-haired princess, much like the dawn she's named after, undergoes a transformation as beautiful and inevitable as the sunrise. It's like watching a pup grow into a majestic Alpha right before your eyes - a journey that's as heart-wrenching as it is inspiring.

Next, let's discuss the action. Oh boy, the action. It's as thrilling as a full-on chase during the hunt, with beautifully choreographed fight scenes that will get your tail wagging. Each of Yona's companions has unique skills and fighting styles, making for a diverse and unpredictable battleground. As they say in the wild, "You can't catch a hare with a single paw strike!"

The animation and music, like the northern lights dancing across the night sky, are nothing short of breathtaking. The traditional East Asian aesthetics and vibrant colors bring the ancient Korean-inspired setting to life. And the music! It's like the howling of our pack on a moonlit night, soulful and stirring.

While some may argue that the show falls into the cliched 'reverse-harem' trope, I'd counter-argue that it's one of the few series that executes it right. They just be teleporting to the next plot point world feels empty with tons of holes i wanted a show about world building similar to mushoku tensei or Frieren but its on the same level or worse than isekai that are low 6* not an 8.03* maybe my expectations were too high as it is so highly rated.

The art is good its no jjk or demon slayer but for 2014 its better than i expected.

Watch if you are interested in the premise and will read the manga after as it doesn't finish or even get to a good end point.
