It is a really sweet story and in a way kind of crazy! The main characters aren't as sill as Kirari but how it ends up is strange! It is really good and I would recommend it to anyone!

It has it's differences but it also has it's non-differences.. Like chance pop session is singing while glass mask is acting and it's something they love to do. Then there are those black haired ladies who kinda give off a similar personality. Chance Pop Session is much shorter but it's nice for just a quick watch. :)

both anime is about Idols who are trying to be the best. some love and romance going on. CPS is not "crazy" as IM@S but both are about the same topic.

Both involve girls who go to school to become singers. Both show how hard the performance industry is and show the girls being bullied. Both also have some unexpected darker themes.

Both are about becoming a singer. Similar hardships, achievements and two of three male characters in "Chance Pop Session" look like Eichi and Wakaoji (and not only look). And, of course, the idea. Of singing, singing, and... again singing, no matter what. I guess that "Chance Pop Session" is less cute and a bit more mature. But only a bit.

When I started watching Chance Pop Session, I got the same vibe I felt from watching Nodame Cantabile way back when. Though Nodame Cantabile is the superior anime, both are adorable and calming. If you like Chance Pop Session, you'll love Nodame Cantabile, and if you love Nodame Cantabile, it won't hurt to try Chance Pop Session.

Both series are done by Madhouse, and are slice-of-life style stories about people trying to become famouse musicians. In Chance Pop Session the girls are trying to become pop idols(Obviously), while in Beck the band is trying to become a famouse band (Obviously). Both series are heavy on the drama, and are slow paced, but not boring. Also both series have high use of music, and good soundtracks(although Beck's is a lot better). Beck was made more for the males in mind, Chance Pop Session was made for the girls but neither are "extremely" girly/manly or anything. Also Beck has better animation, and the  read more

Both series are about aspiring musical artists who struggle for their big breaks and learn to balance label drama and their own personal drama, both of which they have in spades.
