(Alright, I haven't finished this ONA yet. I might update this review once I do.)
-- PAPERMOON REVIEW # 2 - Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo: Risa x Miya Gekijou --
So, Risa x Miya Theater is a series of 10 videos made in the style of a visual novel, each being 10-11 minutes long. That's just some information for you people, let's get started, I don't have very long to write this.
Story - 8
So far, this ONA series has a good, unique story. Seeing as the 'Summary' section is completely free of any information about the ONA's content, I shall provide some myself; A girl skipping
classes at the park (at least I think it's a park) and being approached by a member of the student council. It kinda reminds me of a character from one of my favorite anime, Denpa Kyoushi.
Art - 8
The art looks like it is a visual novel, which is what this series is supposed to be "shaped" like. The only problem I have with it, is that some actions spoken in dialogue (like eating, drinking, etc.) are not present on screen.
Sound - 8
Throughout the episodes, quiet music plays on a loop. The music that plays is actually pretty calming, and something you'd find in an actual visual novel.
Character - 6
The series starts off by throwing two characters in our faces, not giving us much background information on them. I'm not usually too picky about character development, the reason as to why, was explained briefly in my 1st review.
Enjoyment - 5
I don't really like playing visual novels, and watching them isn't too much fun either. Watching this, I feel like I'm playing an 'Auto Level' in 'Geometry Dash', I'm just sitting back watching as the level plays itself, with little-to-no reward in the end.
OVERALL - 6
This ONA series has a cute story, nice art, pleasant background music, cute characters, but the main drawback for me, is that it's boring to watch. The only reason I've been able to hold on, is my love for the 4 previously mentioned things. If you like Shōjo-Ai and have some time to spare, be my guest and watch this short series.
Thank you for reading! Feel free to tell me how I screwed up!
