Synopsis

Manami is your typical schoolgirl, despite the odd machines her grandfather is always building. One day, though, an odd evil robot comes to attack Minami's school, and commits the ultimate offense of threatening her friends... and ruining her lunch. It's hard to tell if this is the greatest satire ever, or a poorly done comedy show. I think it succeeds on both equally, forming a great b-anime. Shitty voice acting, inane plot, and terrible art/animation are just a few of the things that plague this anime. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it thoroughly though.

The characters were so perfectly cliche that they actually managed to be good. Charlie Secto and Nick Jagger are some of the best characters I've ever seen. I'm surprised this doesn't have the #1 best selling soundtrack ever, the music is that great, especially the ...

They certainly tried to mold this into a comedy - oh, they really tried! But this one-shot OVA falls short on so many levels.

I have to believe that whatever studio made this was hoping this would be such a hit that it would turn into a regular series, the way they were name-plating every single character (even if they had just two lines) throughout the show. Given the time when this came out, it definitely fits within the wackier mold of, say, Dr. Slump or Ranma 1/2. But this is a far, far cry from Toriyama or Takahashi. ...
