Eikoku Koi Monogatari Emma: Molders-hen

So if you read my review for Season 1 of Emma: A Victorian Romance, then you would know that I was very displeased after finishing it. However, like I had hoped, the second season proves to be amazing. A lot of the cinematic errors were definitely changed and prove to make this season worth your while. The biggest differences that made the second season so much better than the first would definitely be the incorporation of new characters, more music throughout each episode as well as getting an insight into the internal monologues, specifically in the main character, Emma. Overall the atmosphere of the second ... season is more lively and entertaining to watch in comparison to the first.

I will say that because of the lack of foundation William and Emma have in the first season, the second season does seem a little out of place. It's important to note that I am not referring to how they fell in love but more so how the plot made them appear to fall in love in the first season. For example, places that should have had some tension, didn't or didn't have enough of it. The second season however almost perfectly executes all of the emotions that the characters have throughout the season.

Another issue I had in the first season was because there was lack of content in the season, it brought a lot more attention to the small intricacies of late 19th century history. While I can't say everything is historical accurate, it was a lot less noticeable because of the plot increase. Things that would have bothered me in the first season didn't due to there actually being something else to focus on.

While you will have to go through the first season, which is quite a bore, this season brings all the much needed flavor to have a well balanced romance anime. I wish the first season was as good as this one because if it was, it would most certainly be in my top five favorite romance anime. I also need to get this out there but I loved the way they ended this anime. Sometimes in romance anime the ending is simply lacking but with this one, I believe it ended amazingly and honestly couldn't have been better.

If you don't mind sitting through the first season just to get the context, the second season is worth it! Happy Watching <33

General review of the 2 seasons

I will start by saying that it is one of the best romances I have seen, better than romances: Kimi ni todoke, Shigatsu, toradora, clannad, etc.
Starting with the setting, for this alone it is interesting. In the series the protagonists have complications to be together and they have their own problems, it is not a boring school romance where the protagonists lack the aforementioned things. Most of the characters matter and are necessary for the evolution of the plot and the interaction is good and not boring at all. And the drama, something that could not be missing in a ... romance series, although it does not have large doses of drama, the intervention of a character like Eleanor and all of the above said makes up for that love triangle that did not exist.

The soundtrack is according to the time and is beautiful.

About the animation it is its lowest point but for the year it was released it is fine.
I really enjoyed this series and I will not deny that I almost shed tears at the end, this series is in the same vein as Kimi ga nozumu Eien, Bokura ga i ta, Romeo x Juliet and The Rose of Versallies.

if we refer to romance series it is an 8/10
And overall it's 7/10

Hmmm... to be honest, the ending feels a bit generic for the age/era of the setting.

I know that it's a good thing that the series ended with a happy ending but it feels kinda cheap and fake to me.

It feels like that the story already decided from the beginning and then the author decide to poke between these characters to make the story have more range in depth of drama. I feel that the story should've ended on season 1 so that it could be more realistic.

William character is annoying the fuck out of me. Indecisive cuck throughout the whole story and spreading trouble all ... over the damn place. I'm more interested in Hakim character instead of William.

Also I don't know why Emma is so loyal to William, his character is not that interesting, he is just a plain rich young brat to me.
