Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!

Manabi = Ritsu, Mika = Yui ,Mei = Mio, Momo = Tsumugi The humor and Slice of Life elements are quite smilar. Both are trying to bring back a club in Manabi straight its the Student Council and K-ON! it's well, the K-ON! club! 

Manabi is set in the very slightly not so distant future, where a slice of life anime takes place involving girls in a club not doing a whole lot but still managing to make a great, cute, adorable, anime. Manabi is K-on minus the music. Momo is Mugi, Manabi is Yui, Mika is Mio, Mei is Azusa, Mucchii is Ritsu 

All right, how do I begin...They're both about cute girls who attempt to save some sort of activity (in Manabi's case, the student council) through believing in themselves and inspiring moments, against some sort of odds. Most of the cast of Manabi have K-ON! counterparts that are unmistakable, and really, the overall feel made me rename K-ON! "Manabi Straight With Guitars". So, if you like K-ON!, there is absolutely no reason why you won't like Manabi. 

Cute little girls dealing with their problems in a school club, that's what we want! 

Both shows feature similarly shallow "moe" archetype schoolgirl characters, their daily life in a school club and how they work to accomplish a goal together. 

Both are about a group of girls doing things in school. However, Manabi Straight has an actual plot and a strangely satisfying ending. Also, the setting is more interesting. In any case, dont watch K-On if you expect any kind of plot like in Manabi straight, because there is none. 

K-ON! and Manabi are both about five girls who are in a club together (the Light Music club and Student Council respectively). Even though K-ON! seems to be a lot more popular, I personally consider Manabi to be a lot better. 

"Don't stop, keep trying." A quote used from the main characters that gives up on something where is about to shut down, but manage to get people's attention and gained it's popularity. There are characters that are quite similar in here: Ritsu = Manabi, Mio = Mei, Yui = Mikan etc. There are some funny and cute moments from time to time. The difference is that Manabi Straight is set in a near future like setting, a balance of comedy-drama story, and focuses on the student council activities. K-on focuses on music, the present day, much more comedy and focuses on club activities.  

Little girls living their everyday lives. Both cute and upbeat with a lot of nice moments. 

Although one series involves grade schoolers and the other high schoolers, the animation was done by the same studio and is nearly identical. Full of cute moments, a group of female students have fun and bond together. 

The world looks so much better if everything turns out chibi. Though Manabi Straight is more drama orientated, chibi lovers will like both. 

Both of them talks about group of friends have fun and bonding together in their living their everyday life. Cute, and very funny.  

Both titles are extremely funny slice of life set in the school setting. The characters in each can also parallel each other.

Will make you start to regret if you never actually enjoyed school activities with friends. Both show teach you that after school don't go straight home. Both shows reflect school life in general, but really have the edge over other school life anime in the presentation of teamwork, friendship and adolescent development. I'm really starting to miss my high school days. Shouldn't have hurried back home that often. Maybe I should have my (future) kids watch this before entering high school so that they know importance of school activities. Maybe some students back in Japan skipped activities and hurried back home to watch these series. What a dilemma we are having. read more 

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! and Love Live! are stories where a school is faced with the dilemma of low enrollment. The optimistic and determined protagonists, Manabi and Honoka, each band together with an eclectic group of schoolmates to confront the problem. Despite taking different routes to solving the problem, there is a common feel about how the diverse members of each group learn to first tolerate each other and then effectively collaborate toward the shared goal. 

Both anime start at a similar setting the school unable to attract and enroll new students. Both schools were in the process of closing down and merging with another school. Both MCs want to do what others deem impossible and succeed. The leader of the Student Council/School Idol has an extremely active and uplifting personality who inspires others to push through the tough time but both of them are extremely clumsy and requires others to support them to get the agenda done.  

"Manabi Straight" and "Lucky Star" both follow a new trend. Younger-looking girls (who are actually their age, but are intentionally made to look cute) in a High School setting. While both shows are focused on High School ups and downs, "Straight" is more focused on the challenges of running a Student Council and "Lucky Star" focuses on most aspects of High School in Japan. Aya Hirano also does a voice work in both shows. 

Think of as a less random, more dramatic Lucky Star that's just as funny and amps up the cuteness. 

A 4 girl essemble, more like 5 in this one, it has comedy, slice of life, and everyday school life dramas. they are both centered on their club, yuru yuri being the fun club, and Manabi being the student council.  

The only anime I've seen to come close to capturing K-ON's bittersweet feel. People should watch this underrated gem by Ufotable. Similarities: -Both series focus on a group of 5 girls who meet by chance and use a club as an excuse to hang out and eventually become best friends -Both series capture the bittersweet feeling of growing into adulthood through a high school setting. They have pretty similar endings, though K-ON had more time to build up to the ending -Both series showcase strong character development through effective visual storytelling and great directing -Both are bittersweet for a bit but they end with hope. Very heartwarming Different: -Manabí Straight takes place in a futuristic setting and has a sci-fi twist -Manabí Straight deals with issues of deciding your future and what high school should mean, while K-ON is about the fear of losing friendship after high school inevitably ends and what happens to close friends after graduation -Manabí Straight gets a bit darker than K-ON, though both are relatively light-hearted read more 

Manabi is as energetic as Haruhi. Both shows aimed to point out the fun we can have or enjoy in highschool.  

Both animes have a lead that enters the school as a freshman and joins a club/group, and greatly affects/changes it. 

Enhancing is the key to make the school a better/fun place. In this, The main characters are set in the student council room, to discuss strategies of making their school a better one. Manabi Straight is like the chibi version of Seitokai Yakuindomo. The difference is that Manabi Straight is set in a near future, some cute moments, and an all girl school. Seitokai Yakunidomo is mostly a mature theme that talks openly perverted, and has a male lead instead of all female cast.  

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! and Azumanga Daioh both feature High School girls living their everyday lives, along with a touch of comedy. Both animes made me laugh out loud, and I strongly recommend Manabi Straight if you liked this anime.
