Similar setting, story and characters. If you enjoyed Manabi Straight, then i can guarantee you'll enjoy K-ON!

Manabi Stright is another version of Ichimashi.. I mean, little girls and their lives..

Featuring four girls going to the same school and having fun together. The girls from each show are also very similar personality-wise.

High school girls rally together against many odds to save their school.

Very chibi and cute.

Story centers around a group of girls with their daily life -both is all about friends and friendship -both are of comedy & school life -both has lovely light-hearted art and character designs

Both wanted to form a club and the characters' personalities are pretty much the same. Manabi Straight= K-ON! Manami= Yui Mei=Mio Momoha=Tsumugi Mutsuki= Ritsu Mika=Azusa

Both are about being bored, and being weird to have fun. They both center around a group of highschool students who become really good friends (slice of life-ish). They have some sort of underlying sci-fi tones (though it is more evident in Haruhi). The biggest difference would be that Manabi Straight! is less confusing, and much more sentimental.

Both are about happy-go-lucky girls in an all-girls school. Manabi has a bit less chatacter depth, in my opinion, but is still a lot of fun.

Focused exclusively on the wacky Seitokai Yakuin (student council). And unlike stereotypical seitokai show that show you around the school and deal with student problems, both shows have wacky Seitokaichou (head of the council) that is a center of attention and do nothing like commoners. SYD offer the above package in a realistic girl high school that just recently turn mixed school. Added that many girls in the show are perverted like no others. Manabi Straight offer such package in a slight sci-fi setting, featuring hi-tech gadgets and cool environment of a not so distant future.

Both of these shows follow a group of girls trying to get through high school, both taking a strange route through imagination and friendship.

If I can say that Manabi Straight was about the beginnings and growth of friendships and what happens before, during and after the process of moving on, then Hidamari Sketch is about the fun times being had when those friendships are already in the growing stage and the future is nothing more than a passing glance. Both have great casts of characters that work together and have fun. Hidamari Sketch is more laid back than Manabi Straight, and the former is a series of standalone episodes compared to Manabi's driven plot, so keep that in mind.

Nice relaxing Anime with a similar style towards art and characters the comedy is also pretty similar. And both of them focus on the friendship of a group of girls. If you like one of them you might also like the other one.

It's about high school girls. And they are set in a not too distant future with advanced technology in school and throughout their lives.

Animation with cute/chibi like character design but back-up with a theme that plays a big role in the society.
report Recommended by mlcdl
The main character enters the new school and starts a club/group that was long dead, and tries to recruit/get members (new and old) to revive it again.

Anime about working towards your goal with some drama. Both have beautiful art and a similar feeling.

Very similar feeling and atmosphere to both shows. Both are more plot driven "cute girl" shows.

Although these 2 shows differentiate each other such as one takes place in the near future, while the other takes place on the present day, they are quite the same in terms of format and genre. It features 5 main characters, with a slice of life moe format, about doing there daily lives in school. Although they have goals that they must do; one shows that they are determined to do a performance, while the other is preventing their school of shutting down.

If you like GochiUsa with moe appearance, and chibi characters, then you might like Manabi Straight that has the same vibe into. Although the setting and content is different like Manabi Straight is set in the future with technology while GochiUsa focuses on a cafe set somewhat in the present. The show basically have this calm atmosphere, and having those "Aw" moments on what the character is doing. Expect some cute moments, and funny scenes.

Needs something to relax for a while? The slice of life comedy focuses on the daily lives of the girls activities who are doing at school or outside of school. Not much of a story, but you will have some cute moments in here, especially their Chibi appearance, by the end of the show. Kiniro Mosaic, takes place in the present day and it is comedy show with bright personality. Manabi Straight is somewhat has a story, which there are some drama, and takes place in the near future.

Though style in Manabi is completely different both series tells about life in a high school and friendship between girls..

If you've watched anime like Minami-ke and Lucky Star, then Manabi Straight would be a good choice to watch for another "slice of life" anime. Seiyuus of Konata popularly known from Haruhi (Lucky Star,) and Kana (Minami-ke,) as well as many other well knwo VAs are in this comedic anime.

Both series have a group of all likable people who, through trials and tribulations, come together in order to accomplish a number of causes. And we also get a nice dose of reality from both shows in the fact that change is a course of life and that things don’t always turn out right in the process. Of the two shows, Hitohira is more realistic and dramatic about the idea that life goes on, but it won’t always be happy. While Manabi with its feel good attitudes stays away from that angle, Hitohira tackles it full on.

The characters are slightly similar in their cuteness, as well as the plot. A club that is struggling to become real, to become strong. If you like Bamboo Blade, but want something that is about a different sort of club, Gakuen Utopia is your show.

Both contain the same kind of real life drama and anxieties that often come with life and stress the importance of the people around you at all times. Both are equal parts comedy and drama, and both have girls that look far younger than they really are ^_^

I got almost the same feeling watching Tamayura that i got from Manabi Straight! It's wonderful moe with substance.

Both of them have something special that takes them beyond the typical slice of life series in setting. Manabi Straight has some sci-fi elements, while Kamichu! includes mystical/fantasy elements. More than that, they include a great deal of character development, and have the characters overcome real challenges in their daily lives. Still, they keep a relaxing and happy feel, always putting a smile on your face even when you feel like crying.
report Recommended by darkmac
Both tell stories of a uselessly energetic student fighting against the injustices of school bureaucracy.

Best Student Council has a more interlaced backstory, but it shares a common base concept with Manabi Straight!: New transfer student gets into student council, and overall mission is to make the students happy to be at school.
