Although they don't have the similar style of presenting themselves, both series follows the format in which deals with master/servants in the conflict of a game. The winner of the game will achieve not only glory but also a reward. Each servant from both series is unique and possesses their own abilities. It is however also up to the guide of their masters to achieve victory. Both series also contains supernatural themes.

The main character works/owns at his store. He meets a mysterious doll/girl who takes over his life. Rozen Maiden is light-heart while Cossettte is dark and horror like. Similar background art animation.

The mood of the 2013 adaptation of Rozen Maiden has a similar feeling in comparison to Another. Otherwise, there's also the themes of dolls present in both series as well as a mysterious atmosphere. Both series also deals with a normal boy whose life becomes abnormal after a faithful day. Both series' OP song are also handled by ALI PROJECT.

Although this shows have diffrent setups both touch hikiomori problem. While NHK ni Youkoso do it in more realistic way and show how to out from closed trap, Rozen Maiden bring us to magic world of dolls and show us how single decisions affect our life.

Rozen Maiden and Dantalian no Shoka have a lot in common, not only do they have the same Dark/Gothic Lolita style for the characters, but also the dark atmosphere that is set in these anime series are quite similar. Both series are thus very interesting and especially lovely if you like Dark/Gothic Lolita style and atmosphere.

For recent series, the concept of a master holding a contract to other mediums never seems to fade. Fantasista Doll and Rozen Maiden (2013) are examples of this type of series as it revolves around a young protagonist getting involved with supernatural beings. They have a sort of contract with them while at the same time develop a relationship between them. There is humor in both series while also crosses towards the line of emotions occasionally. The setting also takes place in a school life setting where there's comedy and drama.

In both series, there's the theme of fighting involving doll. The dolls themselves have combat abilities and also seems to be owned by a master that are gifted with special features. The main male protagonist are a master of the main doll. There is a sense of supernatural taste that surrounds the origins of both series. Additionally, the OST for both series are noticeable in a thrilling/action packed way.
