Golden Time

Due to a tragic accident, Banri Tada is struck with amnesia, dissolving the memories of his hometown and past. However, after befriending Mitsuo Yanagisawa, he decides to move on and begin a new life at law school in Tokyo. But just as he is beginning to adjust to his college life, the beautiful Kouko Kaga dramatically barges into Banri's life, and their chance meeting marks the beginning of an unforgettable year.

After having a glimpse of college life, Banri learns that he is in a new place and a new world—a place where he can be reborn, have new friends, fall in love, make mistakes, and grow. And as he begins to discover who he was, the path he has chosen leads him towards a blindingly bright life that he will never want to forget.

Nearly a 10, very enjoyable, must watch if you're into romcom/shoujo, but damn, sometimes the stupidity was too much from the characters. I won't go into details to keep this spoiler free, let's just say some conflicts were just incredibly stupid and unrealistic that could've been avoided by common sense.

The art style is okay, almost good, but not really.

[MINOR SPOILER WARNING]

I'm torn on this series. On one hand, it depicts very potent emotional themes and shows the messiness of navigating relationships. However, on the other hand, it suffers from such awful writing and most of the cast is bland and uninteresting.

0k, I found out about this story from certain AniTubers who said it was a better work than Toradora! despite being by the same author (Now I have no doubt that it was just nostalgia talking and that they haven't seen this work in many, many years), that, and that I love the works of Yui Horie and Ai Kayano got me interested in Golden Time; and I'm not lying when I say that I firmly believe that this is a story that no one, NO ONE should ever see.
