Log Horizon

In the blink of an eye, thirty thousand bewildered Japanese gamers are whisked from their everyday lives into the world of the popular MMORPG, Elder Tale, after the game's latest update—unable to log out. Among them is the socially awkward college student Shiroe, whose confusion and shock lasts only a moment as, a veteran of the game, he immediately sets out to explore the limits of his new reality.

Shiroe must learn to live in this new world, leading others and negotiating with the NPC "natives" in order to bring stability to the virtual city of Akihabara. He is joined by his unfortunate friend Naotsugu, having logged in for the first time in years only to find himself trapped, and Akatsuki, a petite but fierce assassin who labels Shiroe as her master. A tale of fantasy, adventure, and politics, Log Horizon explores the elements of gaming through the eyes of a master strategist who attempts to make the best of a puzzling situation.

This is what Sword Art Online should have been. I also love how they don't make Shiroe into this super badass who can do everything and anything and is extremely charming. They split that into a different character in Krusty. I only wish they gave more character development to other characters.

I love how it feels like this show was written by people who know how MMORPGs are like, and I love the rule bending they do in the world to make it different from a game, but still feel like it, like how if you make food using the crafting menu it tastes bland, but ... if you make it normally, it tastes like actual food. Its such a clever way to make it so they can't just craft everything or do things the easy way. It shows that this world might be based off a game, but it's not exactly a game world.

Everything about the world of Elder Tale feels so thought out, making it more interesting to learn about the game, its lore, and its mechanics.

Mixed Feelings

It starts off as a really pleasant romp and has some neat themes regarding freedom and community. However, it throws all of its goodwill out the window when it starts going off about *how* the Adventurers should organize themselves and come to accept that this is real life for them going forward. That is, it just becomes full-on propaganda about how states run by capitalists are efficient and benevolent for several episodes and the rest of the series lives in the fallout of that. There's one point where they literally bemoan that people don't need much money to live comfortably and offer the need to ... purchase jewels as a solution. And then there's the subplot about teaching a princess about what freedom means and she... remains a princess.

It's not a bad show necessarily, but it reflects a very systems-centric, theoretical view of the world that is directly at odds with mutual cooperation. Big Protagonist Bias all over it.

Kinda sad for the mc as he got all the flat girls.
Felt like The anime was more of a political discussion and romance series rather than a actual rpg isekai.ep1-7 was pure gold and after that it digs into politics and other shit but gets worse through the whole series (season 2 and 3 was shit )

the mc is so popular because he is jenius in anime but he stops using his brain from the mId season.i mean there is only 3 thimes hardly where the mc get in a fight although people suggest it as an anime" with op mc "

I mean comeon give ... us some good actions where our mc use some op brain power but nah it turned into who loves who shit AND Making foods story.
And also I didn't like the character designs(maybe i am little frustrated beacuse the side girls had more attractive design than our little ninja girl(hope she wasnt loli looking).there was too much pep talk through the whole series about unnatural politics made by NPC. The ninja girl is preety op.Felt sad how every couple got together except the mc.(season 3)

The Pace is not slow but kinda feels like there's unnecessary events going on. Animation doesn't matter when there is 80 % of talk through the whole series.
