Slam Dunk

Both of the anime are sports anime, which is basketball. Besides that both of the shows have the same genre and types, comedy, school, shounen and sports which is the spotlight why I made this recommendation. Both of these anime have a good characters, good story plot and interesting/worth watching. However, the only difference is that Kuroko no Basuke was a "little" impossible if you based it in some reality basketball plays while Slam Dunk can be. Both of the series should be watch if you really like a sports/comedy/shounen/school anime. Since both of this anime is worth watching and you'll not regret about those. 

Both deal with Basket ball, with a likable protagonist who is both fantastic, but terrible at the sport at the same time. Many similarities can be drawn between characters, making then very well in sync 

Both series deal with Basketball 

Both of the series were sports genre. Both series/anime shows a lesson about friendship and teamwork, yet they're also the same with other genre, like school and comedy. Kuroko no Basket and Slam dunk, I also define them as a good anime since the story's very great, if you really like an anime sports, and yet the illustration of every character is good. Both of the shows are very unique and has a lesson if you watch it. However Slam Dunk's more realistic than Kuroko no Basket.  

Slam dunk and Kuroko no Basket have the same main theme: basket ball. For the ones that have watched slam dunk, kuroko no basket it's a must-watch series mainly because it shows the evolution of the sports animes and it would probably be a consolation for the ones that felt "orphans" after Slam Dunk's end, but also because it's one of the most famous series in the present as Slam Dunk were in the past.

They are both anime about basketball explaining how the main character wants to get better. I recommend boh of these because they are such fun and exciting anime. 

simply the same sport, keep in mine that"Slam dunk" is way more realistic than "Kuroko no baske"t,but it is so enjoyable too. 

Both are about basketball high school team and have a crazy main character. Slam Dunk is more like real basketball, but Kuroko no Basket is more like Dragon Ball with super powers lol. Both are fun to watch; I like Slam Dunk more. 

Both about the sport of basketball Slam Dunk his game style is more real than Kuroko no Basketl The main character in slam dunk is big and strong, but has a good sense of humor. Very different with Kuroko no Basket, his main characters are small and weak. But that's what make this anime quite unique Both anime are highly recommended to watch

If you liked Kuroko no Basket, you will like Slam Dunk just as much. Slam Dunk is the ORIGINAL basketball anime, coming out long before Kuroko no Basket, dating all the way back to over 20 years ago, in 1993. Though I still enjoy Kuroko no Basket more for the sole fact that Slam Dunk never was completed, it still remains a favorite of mine.

The craze that is shown surrounding Kuroko no basket sounds very similar to what was shown surrounding slam dunk in the 90's. I live in the United States and because of this dubs are unlikely but they are worth the 101 and 62 (episodes and counting) to watch. Slam dunk is rumored to make a come back this year. Both deeply follow basketball and I honestly think Slam Dunk is better than Kuroko even after watching it second. 

They basically revolve around one thing: basketball. If you like playing basketball or even just watching basketball, then this show is for you. Amazingly unrealistic skills that will put you on the edge of your seat for every episode. 

Both follow the journey of their respective teams who are trying to make it to the top and become the best basketball team in japan. Discover your love or re-ignited your passion for the game through both of these shows. 

Both anime are about basketball. 

They are similar because of the following: -The teams have the goal to reach the national tournament -Characters are lovable like Hanamichi Sakuragi -Although the art is old since it was released on 90s but forgivable -The soundtrack is something that will always stick in your head -They will make you laugh -Although it was an anime cut short before its manga ended 

Setting is a basketball court. The characters are very skilled in playing. The games are very fun and intense to watch. The comedy is very similar to each other.

Both are basketball anime and slam dunk has some generic yet funny comedy apart from its basketball story overall its really enjoyable. Some may not like the animation as its too outdated in 2022 but yet you should be giving it a shot 

Basketball, team playing, similar characters, similar character development.  

Two very similar anime's we have here, but only in one way and that is the main charachter and his friends/team and all the happy and serious moments that go with them. Slam Dunk is closer to the real basketball play then Hungry Heart is to real football, but the atmosphere during the games in both animes are sometimes breathtaking. The only difference in the main charaters is that Sakuragi from Slam Dunk never played basketball before joining the school team while Kanou did but he stoped for a period for some resones. Through the anime both of them became the key player of the team, and they aim to win the nationals. read more 

Both shows have a redhead tough guy with insane power and reflexes that takes interest in a sport (soccer vs. basketball) and is quite talented at it but often make goofy mistakes. Both are very cocky and talk a lot. Also, Both shows have a gorilla-looking character that puts the redhead in his place with a knock or two when he gets out of line for comedic effect. Aside from the sport in question, the two series are extremely similar. 

Very similar main characters, humor, ambition, basically just change the sport. 

Change the soccer part with basketball n u will make hungry heart become slam dunk Both main character are very energic,dumbass,n short tempered..Also.a bit problem with woman U will feel similarity in the spirit from both anime that will make you happy to watch it 

Hungry Heart: Wild Striker(HHWS) is faster version of Slam Dunk(SD) and does it in less number of Episodes. There are few things that make HHWS stand out versus SD; Such as character development, an interesting plot, and Inspirational story. In HHWS there is a lot off character development for MC as well as for side characters. In SD most of development and focus is on MC. While protagonist of both the anime show a lot of promise in their sports there reason for taking the sports will impact the way you watch these anime. In SD the MC wants to impress a girl, so he takes up the sports. In HHWS the MC wants to be a Professional football player and be like his brother who is already a Pro. Also, the HHWS MC is constantly compared to his successful brother, which also causes a lot of friction in MC's life.These differing motivation of MC's in both the anime gives the anime a different flavor. The plot has a lot of twist and turns on and off the field compared to predictable twists in SD. There are lot of obstacles HHWS characters face which engages the audience on emotional level. In SD the obstacles are in the nature of beating the opposite side which you will enjoy watching but will not be as memorable as the victories achieved by HHWS MC and his team. The HHWS story is more inspirational because of above reason and it's slice of life approach will be endearing to a mature crowd who want to watch a good sports anime. Both shows have a tough and energetic protagonist with red hair that is interested in sports (basketball/soccer) and joins a team. Both of these protagonists have a desire to win their matches and are quite talented, but often do silly mistakes. Also, both anime have similar plot elements and create a similar mood. 

Everyone probably already knows Slam Dunk. This isnt an objective comparison. I get the same energy and anticipation with Hungry Heart same as I did in Slam Dunk. Fully recommend Hungry Heart. Watched it around the time Jose Antonio Reyes of Arsenal F.C. had the number 9. What a coincidence. Became instant fan of the anime. 

first anime that pop in my head when watching slam dunk is this one 

"Slam Dunk" and "Haikyuu!!" have overall the same plot and characters. They don't focus only on the sport but also have a lot of comedy and drama. Basically they're about a first-year high school student that enters a sports club having natal ability but no experience and has to get along with a very talented, egocentric "rival" in the same team who thinks that he can win just by himself. The personalities and roles of the other characters are extremely alike as well, if not exactly the same. Both tell the story of a somewhat now weakened team that aims to glory with the new first-year members, who play an important place in it. read more 

When I started watching Haikyuu I got instant flashbacks of Slam Dunk, because they hold extremely important and clear similarities. Both stories handle a red-headed energetic boy who isn't very good at sports but is eager to improve (despite being for very different reasons at first). Both protagonists have to work with another first-year who they don't get along with very well (and are considered as rivals) but in the end they manage to click and work together efficiently. Both stories hold similar team dynamics: a weakened team that becomes unstoppable thanks to the new first years additions (Karasuno - Shohoku), same region rival team with a prodigy player (AobaJousai with Oikawa - Ryonan with Sendoh) ... and it goes on. Also worth mentioning how realistically both sports are depicted and played, and even allowing the viewer to learn about them as the episodes progress. All of this alongside wonderful character developments and backstories, the emotional struggles of wins and losses, and filled with great light-hearted comedy. read more 

both sports, very dynamic, without forced protagonism, haikyuu learned a lot with slam dunk and did better because hakyuu has better production ambos esportes ,muito dinamicos,sem protagonismo forçado,haikyuu aprendeu muito com slam dunk e fez melhor ,pois hakyuu tem produçao melhor 

*Both of the main characters have the same jersey with the number 10, Lol *Both of the main characters have amazing talent that center in there jumping height, speed and huge amount of stamina. *They both work hard to reduce what they lack the most. *They have a rival which may or may not count as tsundere xD *Jokes aside their rivals are both really "hateful" to them, but get along with them sometimes, and manage to work together efficiently. *Both series stay true to their sport, no weird super human moves or extreme physics defying powers :P *Both anime's gives you great tips about working together as a team, and they both have really nice, and somewhat realistic techniques which you can use in real life (both personally helped me a lot in sports). *Both almost made me cry at the last episode ... Both of these anime are in the sport genre and they have this encouraging feeling that makes you want to play sports after watching how they plan and enjoy their game. 

High School sports focusing on one years tournaments. Rivalry between first-years on the team. 

Both of these are sports anime revolving around basketball to begin with, but once you watch Ahiru No Sora you will see that like Slam Dunk it isn't just some ordinary sports anime where the only premise is just that sport. This anime really shows how sports can change people lives around for the better, and teach them many life lessons as well.  

Both deals with a realistic take on basketball and how to deal with each of their own weaknesses in order to be a better player and a better team.  

The temper of the main characters are very similar, and the drawing in these anime is similar, despite the difference in release in 20 years. The basketball games themselves are also very similar in emotional terms.. 

Both anime explore the slice of life aspect of playing basketball at highschool with Ahiru no Sora clearly being inspired by Slam Dunk (directly referenced). Nevertheless, both anime are masterpieces in terms of story and execution and would capture the hearts of anyone who plays the sport themselves.

also basketball themed, this one also shares the "delinquent" aspect and like ahiru no sora has more personal themed issues outside of the well built sport aspect. All three of these see the mc and their team develop and try to win the national tournament 

It's not GTO at all, and the theme is different, but the two main characters resemble each other greatly. These two anime have the same feel and pacing to them. 

if you watch GTO for onizuka, you'll probably like sakuragi hanamichi. Hanamichi is as dumb as, as direct as, as insane as, as inhuman as, as simple minded as Onizuka. Two of them approach to events is so funny and direct. Hanamichi<=Onizuka... 

If you enjoy Slam Dunk, you will likely enjoy GTO and vice versa. They are both classic anime comedies with a large fan base. Well written characters that you can't help but love and cheer for and a hooking plot that keeps you coming back for more. There are lessons to be learned and inspiring moments to be had in both animes. Overall, similar art and feel as well but this is also characteristic of the times when the animes were made. 

The main viibes from the main character are more than similar to Onizuka. Both of them are quite idiots but reliable when needed 

Similar comedy, both are circled around delinquents that try to find success one way or another in the real world. Mostly importantly, both are amazing and very enjoyable. 

SCHOOL SETTING WITH ECCENTRIC MALE LEAD. You can feel a strong and funny friendship in both 

The main characters of Kyou Kara are very similar to the protagonist of Slam Dunk, who is also a delinquent with bad luck with ladies. 

Kyou kara Ore wa!! is similar to Slam Dunk in that they both have delinquent MCs who stand out in a school setting with their dyed hair. The humour is very similar, as well as the animation, with both series coming out in the 90s. The main characters have a friendship/rivalry with similar characters that develops throughout the series. Overall two great series, Slam Dunk being far longer, with Kyou kara Ore Wa being shorter and more raw, with far more profanity 

Kyou kara and slam dunk have the same art style . Kyou kara shows the dark side of slam dunk and the fact you are a gangster with a golden heart .Mitsuhashi Takashi and sakuragi hanamichi have many things in common : personality , cool humor and manly characteristics... Itou Shinji and rukuwa are similar too . They are both Filled with the passion of friendship and manlieness 

they both start from zero and learn technic`s and fight their way to top,,,they both funny with original staff,,,the both of them is one of best anime history :D 

Both of animes talk about sports(Hajime = boxing, slam dunk = basketball) and has a main character that joins their respective sports and evolve during the animation. 

Both are shounen anime that focus on sports: Slam Dunk is about basketball, while Hajime no Ippo is about boxing. They are character-driven stories, which create similar moods: both have a lot of funny scenes and intense matches. Also, many characters in these anime have similar personalities (and some of them are even delinquents).

Like its similar predecessor, SD, BB is comedic and has a personality-driven protagonist that, despite the differences in height and blue, instead of red hair, can get into mischief. The comedy springs from there principally, but both have differing approaches to their relationships with other characters (SD has more of an attempt at romance); both, clearly, have a dissimilar number of episodes, and so can express each personality for a longer or shorter time, but BB could have included more of them (besides the central cast), although in the end it is still sort of a microcosm of the author's previous manga. 

MC ara quite similar. Both are idiots with great potential, who don't know thier true power. Storyline is similar as well..it's all about teamwork, selfconfidence, tournamets, though it's a sports anime, what else it can be about?))) 

They are both written in the same way just one is baseball and the other is basketball. Both mc start off as amateurs and are lovable idiots who go through tons of character growth in their respective series. While other shonen sports anime have characters that are already decent at the sport they play, the mc in both these series literally start from the basics to work their way up and catch up to their rivals which makes the series very realistic. Ultimate underdog story  

These both feature loud obvious sports players with immense potential. The main characters are funny, stupid, and loud. They both feature a rival on their own teams and similar dynamics between both in each show. Both of these anime are so similar in the characters to dialogue and character interactions, especially development of the main character in skill level and how the main character gets stronger and overcomes hurdles. I promise if you love daiya no ace, you will def at least enjoy slam dunk. And vice versa 

both main characters have similar personal... naruto and hammanichi both of them act the same way and even likes a girl who is intrested in another guy.. sasuke is similar to rukawa  

Both MCs have same personalities. Also their rivals have similar personalities. Both shares same love triangles. 

-both of these anime have kinda old animation -both have a genius player from middle school that went to a team that isnt that good of a team -and both are basketball anime 

Both are basketball animes. 

Both series are very similar : - both are sports genre, specificately both are about basketball - both have great art - both have great OST - both have great characters etc... If you liked one of them you would like the other for sure !! 

BB tackles a concept that not many other 'casual' anime in this genre can address, "what if whole teams were much taller, stronger?" - since, like in SD, they're set not in a hypothetical near future, but likely in schools where everyone has basically the same strengths and weaknesses, with only a little variability (and even then, with usually at least the same amount of tall people in each team) - but not BB, it isn't even set in any kind of school (which already makes it different from most others in the genre), and instead wonders whether those with talent potential, no matter their background circumstances, could succeed in a competitive environment. read more 

Both are anime regarding basketball and both are awesome in my opinion. Although, Slam Dunk has less to none echii material (from what I remember) than Ro-Kyu-Bo! which might be less appealing to those seeking echii situations. Slam Dunk is a quite old anime and its drawing style is rather serious but the anime itself is not. Trust me, you'll laugh 'till you feint in some scenes :) 

well, these stories are both about sports and how the protagonist of each series becomes a better person. and besides they both teach us the value of friendship and the importance of working as a team.. . GO team! :) 

Both anime have underdog protagonists that get stronger and both anime use the same type of comedy.
