These stories involve the main characters having online avatars that are used online, only to find themselves negativly effected in the real world by what goes on in these worlds. The themes are also very dark.

Both are subpar OVAs produced as promotional tools. Don't expect anything amazing or to be wowed out of your socks. That being said, they are both fairly short and an interesting look at some of the more odder Mecha variations.

Sci-fi/drama with a mecha background and a ton of plot twists.

These series are both similar in the aspect that they are set in the future, and based around the ever looming fact of cyber-terrorism and the Internet, hackers, and a large virtual world.

Similar story : A new virtual world created inside network, which allows people to perform normal activities like in the real world. But an incident began to disrupt the peace of this new utopia. To overcome this problem a special forces created by government. Later MC in both anime will be faced with a decision which will change his/her future forever. Also some little element also can be found in both anime : + Hacking + Full 3D animation for mecha battle scene + Sexual Suggestion + Similar pace story & ending

Both of these Anime take place in the future and deal with sci-fi and mecha. The animation style is a mix of vibrant brights and gothic darks. Both Anime also have a dark storyline to draw the viewer in.

Both are cyber-mecha series that deal with two parallel worlds. One cyber, one real. A conflict in one world, eventually affects the other.

Both are set in a future where humans are able to connect to a digital world. In BALDR it's called the Wired World, and in Real Drive it's called The Metal.

Both have leading men that are supposed to be amazing but are truly annoying while the stories - seemingly original - are very predictable.

Both contain the same concept - where there is a device which allow humans to go into their own kind of 'matrix' using their imagination, and produce whatever they want in this alternative dream world.

Both of these Anime deal with the mind and forgotten backgrounds and things one can't easily control. Things aren't a game either in these series, and yet there is this mentality that the characters should be thinking this way at first.
report Recommended by Yemi_Hikari
Both of these anime deal with futuristic worlds that experiment on people in order for the perceived better good of people, when in truth it is towards the total destruction of everyone. Very similar themes with very similar mood.

Both have two parallels stories: the reality and the virtual places, and both places are connected with computers and internet.
