"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened" -Dr Seuss
Boku no Pico is a thrilling story about the adventure of a weak boy, Pico, and how he struggles to become stronger. In this sense, it is very much like Naruto because it is about how our main character overcomes the challenges presented to him. Naruto overcomes his curse and accepts his fate as a human and likewise Pico overcomes the bonds of sexual taboo and dives into the deep depths of homosexuality.
At times, it will have you laughing.
At times, it will have you crying.
At times, it will have you shuddering.
At times, it will have you enveloped into the sharp folds of the powerful, compelling storyline that is this masterpiece - Boku no Pico
Story - 10
This is one of the most intricately written stories I have ever seen. You really need to pay attention to experience it all, small details may have you puzzled over the overall plot.
Well, what is it about?
This story is about Pico, our main character, and his travels. He meets many people on his journey to overcome the dark cloud of heterosexuality.
The story is incredibly well-scripted and paced. Each individual scene is crafted with such elegance that it's hard to believe that this was originally a low-budget anime. However, I shall warn you - it is written by none other than the butcher himself, Gen Urobuchi.
Art - 10
The artwork in Boku no Pico is simply eye-dazzling.
Such detailed and bright, colorful artwork contrasts with the deep storyline of Boku no Pico to create a brilliant contrast, giving Boku no Pico its signature amazing art direction.
I fail to see how anyone couldn't like this art style.
One of the outstanding points is that there is no QUALITY. Faces are all drawn extremely accurately and with care and effort. Laziness is not a factor which you will find in the artwork of Boku no Pico.
Sound - 10
There's not much about Boku no Pico's soundtrack that I can say that hasn't already been said.
The voice actors are extremely talented and the emotions they portray are so realistic that you would almost think that the VAs were living the story of Boku no Pico in real life.
Boku no Pico's voice actors are nothing you would find in an amateur animation like any Ghibli movie. From teary solemn to absolute bliss, each voice actor displays a wide array of voice dynamics, and they're a pleasure to listen to.
The OST is astounding. The background music is crafted with various instruments to create some of the most beautiful tracks you will ever hear, featuring chord progressions rivalling that of even Van Dyke Parks.
Character - 10
Each individual character is unique and cliche characters are completely absent. The character development is paced so well that the viewer actually grows up with the characters, and learns to understand their motives and emotions in the form of empathy. In this way, by the time the viewer has finished watching Boku no Pico, he will have developed as a person himself.
The emotions felt by the characters - ranging from happy, to medium, to sad, are all very lifelike. You will never have thought they were fabricated with video and audio. Such genuine emotion rivals the deep emotions of Sasuke from Naruto. I also think Pico is a lot like Ulquiorra from Bleach, my favourite anime character.
Enjoyment - 10
A blast. Sheer brilliance.
Overall - 10
I said it once and I'll say it again. Boku no Pico is a masterpiece among masterpieces. It is just simply outstanding. read more
Anime as a medium is known to cover a vast array of topics and concepts. Every niche group can find their own genre to meet their specific needs, no matter how obscure it may be:
•You like giant robots? there's mechas
•You like lots of girls on your dick? there's harems
•You like nakama power? there's shounens
•You like being mindfucked? There's Satoshi Kons
But where's the genre for catholic priests who need a quick fap before bedtime? Those who need to choke the bishop to some tender underdeveloped ass? Well I have news for you! No longer may the pedo priest suffer in silence. No longer may they settle for lolitas. For almost like divine providence, they have been blessed with this modern masterpiece, Boku no Pico!
Pedophilia.... yup... You're on a government watch list now.
It's hard to judge the art since I had to look away at 99% of it. But from what I accidentally watched, the catholic priest will be pleased. Also if you're a masochist, this is an ideal form of self torture.
I can never unhear the moans of a little boy being pleasured, God help me! These moans of ecstasy will forever haunt me! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?
For some reason, I feel like Jared from Subway have Pico saved on his desktop. After all, he does like to "eat fresh".
WTF Japan, this is going too far. I could never see vanilla ice-cream the same way again.

On the surface of things, Boku No Pico is nothing more than a very well animated shota with lots of sex scenes. But it's what lies beneath, what goes unsaid that makes this a somewhat disturbing OVA, more so than the following two episodes that also feature Pico.
There is no romanticism in this OVA, which is odd, considering the content. Mokkun, a somewhat bland character, sees Pico and ends up having sex with the underaged boy. He brings Pico around slowly, taking him out for ice cream, giving him blowjobs in the car, then finally bringing him around to his apartment. What creeps me out is the realism involved here...they don't fall in love. There are no roses. Instead there's a guy who seems to have little or no social life or girlfriend obsessing over a pretty boy. To the point where he dresses the boy up as a girl and even compares him to one. Pico likes the attention and (after the initial shock) the sex. It brings to mind stories of teachers having sex with their young children that you see in the news from time to time. I watch this anime and think...this could happen, no, this has happened to people. Not all cases of pedophiles are brutal rapes. Mokkun is neither presented as a bad guy or a good guy. He is not madly in love with Pico nor does he treat him badly, nor is it clear if he is manipulating the boy or simply lonely and desperate.
Pico too is a mystery. He is staying with his grandfather, for the summer if I remember correctly. The man seems old and disinterested in Pico and more than happy to let a completely strange man take his grandson out for long periods of time. If we consider the ending, which takes place at night on the beach...where is the grandfather!?
Of course, I'm not trying to say this is anything but shota porn, no. Merely that it stands out to me because of its stark realism. Compared to other yaoi, and even to its own sequels (Pico to Chico and Pico x Coco) Boku no Pico stands out awkwardly. It's clear Pico loves Mokkun much more than Mokkun loves him and the ending scene where Pico turns his innocent blue eyes towards the audience (facing Mokkun) and says 'I love you' always haunted me.
There are no roses and flowers in this OVA, no love, no happy ending. Just a brief glimpse into the life of a man and his lover, who happens to be a boy. The series takes its time showing scenery and building up to the sex scenes, all the while playing the disturbing call of cicadas. Had there been better character development, more story and more purpose, this could have been quite the interesting anime.
Overall, enjoyable as shota, but with the slightest sense of something not right going on underneath the surface. I can't even go so far as to say it glorifies pedophilia or rape...just presents it. Boku no Pico is an anime that does not judge, merely shows.read more
Oh god here goes, I seriously hope no one I know in real life finds out I saw this show, let alone reviewed it.
Boku no Pico is the "Two girls one cup" of anime. It's gained some viral popularity mainly through its pure shock value for those not expecting it. It's also occasionally described as "the worst anime of all time" by fairly popular reviewers such as Arkada and HoldenReviews however they provided little information as to what it is actually about. As such I watched it with no context as to its actual content, just to see what everyone was on about.
To make this crystal clear to those who are not aware this is Shoutacon Hentai, meaning it is animated homosexual pedophilic pornography (for art purposes only according to the show :P). Around 60% of the run-time of the episode is purely sex scenes.
The relationship between the two characters is creepily believable and realistic. The older man seems lonely and in denial about his bisexuality, even going so far as to dress Pico up as a girl, he never acknowledges he feels any romantic attraction to him or that the relationship exists for anything other than his own sexual satisfaction. Pico on the other hand is clearly infatuated with him.
But perhaps the most disturbing thing about this show is the same reason I can't give it a 1 even though I have no interest in yaoi. This isn't some shitty dojinshi, the animation is of the same standard you'd expect from an average anime of its time. It's even complete with an opening and soundtrack. So this cannot have been cheap to produce and judging by the fact that multiple sequels were made it may also have been a financial success. What I'm getting at is that a lot of people were actually willing to PAY for this.
The show really isn't all that bad at achieving it's intended purpose but there are really only a couple of reasons to watch this, if you are genuinely entertained by shoutacon hentai. To troll your friends, or just to know what the hell everyone is going on about when they talk about this show.
Do not look at the score. Boku No Pico is a relationship saving masterpiece.
Have you ever felt a feeling of love so beautiful, so pure, so real.. you wake up every morning and the first thing in your mind is that special someone. You chuckle at yourself as you find it pathetic that it's your first thought of the day. Non the less, you get up and as usual you do your everyday routine but with that special person in mind. You take a little bit more time to do your hair, you take a little more time to wash your face, and you brush your teeth a little harder. Why? Because although you know that you will most likely not even talk to that person, you always have to keep that hope alive.
You nurture that hope, take care of it, build upon it and over the years although your life may have taken you all over the place, you still wake up every morning with that little thought of that someone in your head.. one day you'll realize that you don't have an unlimited amount of time, that you HAVE to get your feelings through to this person before someone else takes them away from you. The next day you wake up, committed, with that thought of them in your mind, that hope burning in your soul, you know that after today that hope will either turn into unbelievable amounts of joy or burn out the flame that had been quietly but brightly shining in your heart for so long.
You go out the door and you're walking to school or wherever you know you'll meet up with this person. Maybe it's graduation day or maybe they're going to be leaving somewhere, but you feel the adrenaline start pumping in your blood. You get teary eyed at just the thought of the amount of emotional heard ache you're about to go through.
Panting and almost out of breathe you make it to the place you know they are. You start scripting what you're about to say in your head but new phrases keep popping in your head.
Then you see that special someone and it all becomes clear. She's beautiful and there's nothing else you would rather want. She sees you, you walk up to her then you see a dude beside her and for some reason you think he's really hot and that throws you completely off and you're completely thrown aback as to what the fuck your sexual tendencies really are.
This is the only time in anyone's life where they should watch Boku no Pico because Boku no Pico is the perfect anime to make you realize just how straight you really are.
I mean I thought I was pretty straight before I got dared to watch this show but after watching that I feel like all I ever want to see is women for the rest of my life, and for that I have to somehow thank it.

Want to prove your manliness? Look no further, Boku no Pico is the ultimate test.
That's right. More than anything, Boku no Pico is a test of your masculinity. If you cannot make it through this anime, you can't call yourself a man, plain and simple, because it takes a real man to do so.
Do not let others judge you for watching this, as it's a true piece of art. It presents the audience with the strenuous task of watching yaoi child porn for 30 goddamn minutes. It is a grueling, punishing ride, but in the end it leaves you satisfied to know that you are now virtually invincible, and most importantly, a MAN, regardless of what gender you actually identify as.
Story - 10/10
A survival of the fittest. Pico and this pedophile, Tamotsu, have sex for practically the duration of this OVA. There are times where the butt-penetrating funfest takes a rest, but those moments are relatively brief. And that, my friends, is what makes this shit special.
Yes, I will tell you right now that there is a surplus of semen. As both characters slowly ejaculate non-stop, it symbolizes how this show is sapping away at your manhood. If you are weak, mentally and/or physically, you may feel like you want to die. Well, if that is the case, it sucks to be you. I watched the whole goddamn thing, and I will tell you up front, if their semen was water, these two boys would be able to hose out enough to hydrate all of Africa. That shit is like a rain dance, except white and, well, semen.
Don't like how in-depth I described that? Hah. You are clearly not enough of a man. 8====D~~~~~~~~ motherfuckers.
Art/Animation - 10/10
Did I mention there was semen? Yes, this white, silky substance was drawn and animated to perfection. The amount of detail makes it practically life-like. In fact, everything is drawn and animated so well, I felt like I was watching a live sex tape.
And that realism adds to the torturous feel of the show, and what pushes this into the 'masterpiece' tier. You really get the feel that a real, 12 year old boy is for some reason willingly having sex with a (presumably) middle-aged man that he just met. Do not question it. Accept it for what it is. Let the images burn into your eyes. If you make it through with even 1 eye still functioning, then you have passed, and I applaud you.
Sound - 10/10
Similar to the art/animation, this is so realistic you'd think you're hearing real people getting it on. The orgasmic squeals of Pico, the grunting of Tamotsu, and the splashing sound of the semen, all very realistic. Don't like it? Well, then obviously you've got some work to do on your masculinity.
With all these elements so perfectly done, you may feel like you are losing sight of what's real and what's not. You may even be losing sight of who you are yourself. I've been there, and there's nothing else I can say other than it will all be okay. Just stay calm, and breathe. This is all part of the test.
Character - 10/10
Both the main characters, who practically take all of the screen time in this OVA, have one goal in mind: penetrate, and detonate. In goes the bone, and out comes the fertilizing fun. It may seem simple to all of you who are reading this, but boy does it have a hidden complexity to it.
At this point I really don't feel like I need to explain it. It's just superb how well done this is.
Enjoyment - 10/10
You better believe I enjoyed it. Thanks to this anime, I now feel I am immune to all and any hentais people prank me with. Like bro, that shit ain't got no effect on me anymore. Moreover, I feel like that black guy in the old spice commercials who makes his pecs dance, who I feel is the embodiment of what it is to be a man. Yeah, you don't fuck with someone who has the balls to watch all of Boku no Pico.
Overall - 10/10
Watching this in it's entirety is a tall task for sure, but it's all worth it in the end my friends.read more
I have tried to be as fair as possible when reviewing this anime. I have rated it lowly because of the lack of story and originality to the anime and although I personally did not enjoy it I have made some recommendations to animes of a similar genre which I think are more enjoyable to watch.
Story: There is no use in dressing this up as anything other than what it is, Boku no Pico is shota porn so if that's what you're into then this one is for you. There's no real story to it, there are a couple of very short scenes to string together the sex scenes but thats about it. If you're looking for something with substance this one is probably not for you & as a yaoi fan you might be happier with something like Sensitive Pornograph as there's more story in there to flesh out the sex scenes.
Art & Sound: There's nothing really wrong with these, it's been animated well so I wouldn't say anything against it on that front.
Character: It's too short to do any development, so the characters are fairly bland. There's no definitive personally traits to them, quite simply it's two little boys who 'experiment' with one another.
Overall enjoyment: Personally speaking, I am not a shota fan. I like yaoi but watching this made me feel dirty on the inside. There are things out there which are more disturbing than this, but because it had no real story to it, it just felt like a flagrant excuse for porn. What I would say is that if you're a yaoi fan who wants to see some simple sex scenes with a little story, then try Sensitive Pornograph instead. If you like younger boys but want something with more story than this has to offer, I'd suggest Enzai which I actually found quite enjoyable to watch.read more
Yes. I gave it a 10 overall. I'll get to that in a bit.
Where to begin with this... Now, since this is a bit, um, sensitive to review, I'll try to be, I don't know, open-minded or something. It horrified me. No doubt, I was shaking in fear the whole time watching this. Not only the thought itself is so disturbing, but added with the art and sound...Oh, sweet freakn Jesus.
Also, the characters (all, like, three of them) are never really developed at all. There's really no story, nope, they're too busy with the porn for that.
So why, WHY did I give it a 10? I couldn't. Stop. Watching. Even though I tried. So. Hard. I'm sorry that I can't explain it. But even though it scarred me for life, it was...good. Really good. Maybe that it's just the thought that the creators were like, "Yeah, we're doing this! We don't care what anyone thinks! Even if the police arrest us for being complete pedos, we're doin' it anyway!" Maybe the fact that it's so taboo is what makes it so hard to stop watching. Even though it's so painful to, you're interested.
Watch this, if you dare. Fair warning, afterwards you shall be immune to anything hentai throws at you.read more
Boku no Pico is about a little boy named Pico whom possesses the personality of a generic schoolgirl, the shapely ass of a newborn baby, and the fashion sense of a call girl. This is the part where you stop watching. It's semi-illegal in most North American countries so it's kind of hard to find, and DEFINITELY not worth torrenting.
I love shota, but this anime is the very definition of "unwatchable", and for those of you reading this do yourselves a favor and stay away from it.
Ok, this anime is messed up in some many cases, people actually had to write and draw and even get paid for this piece of a crap anime and shouldn't even be called anime. First off, right off the bat the show shows a message stating that this is not child porno and does not support child porno. Let me tell you that is a load of crap there is no way, no frickin way that is not child porno. Secondly, no story, just gets straight to the butt fucking. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT WATCHING THIS SHOW. After finishing this horrid piece of crap called anime I felt like I need to put an egg beater to my eyes and kill myself for even putting myself through that horrible experience. read more
The biggest challenge in the anime world is to watch the infamous yaoi shotacon series called Boku no Pico produced by Natural High Studios. Do not take on this challenge if:
- you cannot think of a young adult male giving head to an underage boy without getting nauseated or beyond disgusted.
- you’re watching Yaoi for the first time. If you’re curious about Yaoi, watch anything (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is highly recommended) but this!
- you’re a Yaoi fan who hates girly ukes. Trust me, this is the worst one yet.
Story (3) / Character (3):
There is no love story or drama involved in this OVA. You basically have a young adult male who becomes sexually attracted to an underage boy at first sight because of his feminine appearance. Pico is spending the summer at the beach working at his grandfather’s café in a maid outfit. After Tamotsu (or “Mokkun,” Pico’s nickname for him) meets Pico for the first time at the café, Pico’s grandfather suggests that Pico and Tamotsu become friends.
In similar hentai (e.g. Oni ChiChi), there’s protest and mention about an age difference. The grandfather doesn’t care that his grandson is gone all day and night with some complete stranger. Mokkun begins a sexual relationship with Pico without any regards to him being a child. It seems to be completely normal in that world.
The story is greatly misleading, and there’s a lack of character development. It’s as if Natural High Studios is forcing you to move forward with the sequels. The theme song presents Pico as a major slut with him modeling in one-piece swimsuits and sexy lingerie, showing the outline of his scrotum. Also, Pico seems experienced when it comes to teasing a man with the way he licks ice cream lustfully from his lips. However, Pico “claims” to be a virgin but takes everything from Mokkun with no hesitation.
Hentai lovers would greatly find this anime to be mediocre because of Pico’s reaction from the first time he has anal sex. He doesn’t scream nor shows any resistance. It’s a plain reaction you would expect from a sexually experienced individual instead of a little boy taking in a huge penis from a guy in his 20s. It seems like Pico has a past or is hiding something. I’m convinced that he’s been with a man before.
Pico appears as a crossdresser from the very beginning. He literally looks like a flat-chested girl with short hair and a girly voice to match. He wears feminine clothing from daisy dukes to workout clothes consisting of a sports bra and tight shorts with ballet slippers. It made no sense for him to protest when Mokkun asks him to wear a little girl outfit consisting of panties. That was an irrelevant scene considering the circumstances if you ask me.
Sound (6) / Art (8):
Natural High succeeded in the sound and art category. The story takes place during the summer on a beach, and you hear the sounds of bugs and the ocean waves crash against the rocks, despite the loud moans coming from Pico. However, the lyrics to the theme song provides misinformation about the story. Lyrics: "Let's fall in love before we kiss." Once again, there's no romanticism in this OVA.
The art is your typical shoujo animation, so there’s no complaints unless you hate big-eyed characters. The characters are well-drawn as well as the image of Pico in skimpy outfits. It’s realistic under the circumstances (e.g. Pico's small penis).
Overall, my curiosity peeked from people having mixed feelings about this series and statements from several people who actually vomited from watching it. I wanted to be a badass, so I took on this challenge. I found myself constantly checking the timer: “No, I have 25 more minutes left?!” Despite the fact that I hate Yaoi with girly ukes anyway, this is the worst Yaoi and Hentai I’ve seen. This challenge was bad enough, so I doubt if I can take on the sequels. I feel really sick and completely lost my appetite.
If you read this full review and feel completely disgusted, don’t watch Boku no Pico! However, if you want to be gutsy, then good luck!read more
Do you want to die that badly? Or how about a suicide? Then This anime is for you. Boku no Pico is going to hunt your nightmares every time you want to fap. And if your curious about this, worry no more. I've been a lot of hellish fights and brutal killings, but this... This is what hell looks like to anime lovers. Boku no Pico is definitely, the hellhole, the other world of Silent Hill, and what is the secret basement of Eren looks like. So I'm your tour guide, and let me remind you that this hentai is the worst hentai that I've ever saw in my entire life:
The Story is Bulls***, it has a phedophilic kind of love story that you'll get a hidden spider crawling at your skin for a minute or so... So, get out of this thing, also, the girls are not girls at all so if you think they going to show their Camel toe by removing those panties, then welcome to hell.
For the Love of Pete, if you think the Art is good. Guess what? YOUR WRONG!! They have two big googly eyes for nightmares and two P***s for Swordfighting. Gaddhammith. And you know what's worst, they're not girls! ARE YOU SURPRISE MADAFAKAH?
Groaning and moaning and heavy breathing is normal for STRAIGHT hentai scenes. But not this, you will hear the sounds of hell just by watching it without sound. And also, the OST is demonic. That OST will make you haunt for the rest of your life...
(Collapses whenever I remember that She-male)
I Can't eat, I can't sleep, I can't even touch an Ice Cream and most of all, I can't FAP for the rest of the week. I'd rather put some colgate to my eyes and having an amnesia just to forget this hentai.
Hentai is good, except for this. This... this... Phedophia Love Story is not good for you. If you fap this hentai, you need help.
The final verdict for this hentai is a perfect 1!!!!!! A F***IN 1/10! THE WORST HENTAI OF ALL. This anime is now on my s*** list now. And I WANT THIS ANIME TO BURN INTO THE DEPTHS OF HELL FOR F***'s Sakes...read more
Boku no pico changed my life. Not only is the story fantastic and invigorating, but the characters are all unique in their ways. And Pico goes through a lot of character development; he goes from thinking he's going to pee to assuring Chico that it's semen and not pee. Boku no Pico is a thrilling story about the adventure of a weak boy, Pico, and how he struggles to become stronger. In this sense, it is very much like Naruto because it is about how our main character overcomes the challenges presented to him. Naruto overcomes his curse and accepts his fate as a human. Pico overcomes the bonds of sexual taboo and dives into the deep depths of homosexuality.
This is one of the most beautiful and complex stories I have ever seen. You really need to pay attention to experience it all, small details may have you puzzled over the overall plot.
Well, what is it about?
This story is about Pico, our main character, and his travels. He meets many people on his journey to overcome the great overshadowing darkness of heterosexuality.
The story is just so well scripted and well written that I couldn't ask for anything more. Each individual scene is crafted with such elegance that it's hard to believe that this was originally a low-budget anime.
The artwork in Boku no Pico is simply eye-dazzling.
Such detailed and bright, colorful artwork contrasts with the deep storyline of Boku no Pico to create a brilliant blend of excellency.
I fail to see how anyone couldn't like this art style.
One of the outstanding points is that there is NO QUALITY. Faces are all drawn extremely accurately and with care and effort. Laziness is not a factor which you will find in the artwork of Boku no Pico.
Boku no Pico's sound quality.. what can I say?
The voice actors are just so talented and the emotions they portray are so realistic that you would almost think that the VAs were feeling those emotions real-time.
Boku no Pico's voice actors are nothing you would find in an amateur animation. These voice actors are just so skilled and talented with their silky fabric voices, sounding like the strings of a thousand golden harmonicas rained from angels above in heaven.
The OST is absolutely astounding. The background music is crafted with various instruments to create the most eargasmic sounds which you will ever hear. A lot of piano and violin is used to create the perfect combination of notes which will have you downloading the whole OST just to listen to it over and over again.
Each individual character is unique and cliche characters are never present. The character development is just so good that you really wonder if this was based off a real story.
The emotions felt by the characters - ranging from happy, to sad, to angry, are all very lifelike. You will never have thought they were fabricated with video and audio. Such strong emotions rival the deep emotions of Sasuke from Naruto.

Jesus Christ, I've never been so uncomfortable while watching anime. I consider myself a fairly open-minded person. People have been raving about how dreadful this anime is and I wanted to see for myself and come up with my own conclusions.
Watching this just feels, wrong. Not because it's hentai-ish, believe me I've seen hentai but I got through those just fine. Pico was obviously designed to be a "trap" character. A little boy who looks like a cute little girl. Wtf. Sometimes I am baffled because he looked like he has boobies. My mind is utterly confused all throughout.
Besides that, pedophilia. But but but, lolicons can be considered pedophilia too so why hate on Boku no Pico? #Doublestandards! Well, that is because I felt that Pico was taken advantage of by Mokkun.

Boku no Pico is one of those hidden gems you find in a blue moon. Its a true masterpiece that can be enjoyed by the whole family, some negative feedback has come to my attention about the controversial relationship between the two lovers, however I feel just because one character has terrible dress sense doesn't mean he can't love someone with fabulous dress sense.
Some people are just crazy if they think in this day and age style can real hold back to people who love each other.
I would have to say the best part about this OVA was the plot. This is due to the fact it is deep yet understandable. I feel that this is a very relatable OVA and I suggest it to many young teens as it can act as a gate key to help one understand themselves on a whole new level.

To quote Harlan Ellison: Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live.
Let's just make this quick. I have holy water. I used it. On my eyes.
I really...Really did try to find the good points of this anime. I tried to look for something someone might find enjoyable in this series. But all I can think of is anyone with some kind of gay child porn fetish would enjoy this. Or maybe someone who's into both child and adult erections. Or perhaps you watch exclusive hentai anime, who knows. I can't say I'm one of those people, I'm one of those people that was appalled and disturbed, and frankly laughed at how mediocre this OVA is.
The story has no development whatsoever. It literally starts out with an adult male meeting a child male, falling in love at what seems like moments, the next twenty minutes is sex and innuendo, but we can go past that, let's just ignore that little detail for now, nothing important to worry about there. Like drama animes? This anime will have you crying near the end. But guess what, it's all good. Five seconds of drama. Such development, such power, such emotion. I was in tears. It's so beautiful. And the fact they made up was simply glorious. How wonderful. More sex. I'm not simply hating, I have my reasons. This story literally has no development. None. Nada. Zip. It's as if the creators were just like "We should make a hentai with no story, it's all about the sex!"
Art. Haha. Okay. I am right now wondering if those who had to animate this committed suicide afterwards or not. I would have. I give this a score of 2 simply for the sake of those poor poor animators. I feel sorry for you. You have performed admirably and I salute you. And if they liked it, well, whatever. That's your job, have fun. The art was a typical style anime, maybe even downgraded a bit to fit the low-budget style of this anime. I'll give you credit, you know how to make people feel uncomfortable. Including myself.
Sound I think has the highest score. A score of 3. Yaaaay we're reaching new grounds in the scoring chart. The music isn't the worst I've ever heard, in fact it might be the only thing I could initially tolerate in this anime. Initially. The opening and ending songs are the same, which are totally creative. You can just tell this anime was a half baked idea someone created after having a horrible nightmare. All I could think of in the opening and ending when they sang "Happiness" was "ha-penis".....was that on purpose? Was the word "happiness" meant to be another innuendo? But honestly, the singer sounded like she was getting paid three bucks to sing a song or they might have found her off the street.
I really didn't enjoy this anime. I didn't. Now, before you tell me "Oh you're just hating on it, there's nothing good you see in it, there's no potential." I do understand that there are probably some people out there that really do and truly like this anime, and you know what? That's fine, that's cool. I just personally along with a bunch of other people I assume did not like this anime at all. I'm not sure if I can call it anime or not, it was an OVA. That's what it was. Anyways, I do see it's good points, it's a hentai anime. It could appeal to that type of crowd. I for one am not a hentai fan and I watched this anime all the way through strictly for the purpose of reviewing it, and I'm here to tell you I don't recommend it to anyone who's interested in action animes or just hates hentai, because this anime will have you crying tears of sorrow and have you wondering why you didn't read Fifty Shades of Gray instead. Because frankly, that's probably better.read more
This is my first review to ever write, and of course it's the one for my favorite anime of all time.
Boku No Pico is clearly a masterpiece, directed by Katsuyoshi Yatabe (who's name I totally didn't copy out of Wikipedia).
The Story and Characters:
The Story, just like the characters, are both an obvious 10/10.
The original, brilliant story is full of symbolism and hidden meanings and has to be rewatched at least 5-16 times to be truly understood. It starts with our main protagonist, Pico who is a young, dynamic nudist and works at his grandfather's caffe out of pure altruism. His grandfather, by the way is ingeniously named "Ojiisan" what is japanese for grandfather.
Anyways, one day a very childfriendly (VERY childfriendly) costumer named Tamotsu "befriends" Pico, at first mistaking our young protagonist for a girl.
Tamotsu immediately consents to look after our lead, Pico. Here is where the series first shows it's high, interpretive nature. The authors wanted to make a clear reference to the increasingly thin social system of contemporary society. The grandfather, who symbolizes the aging population and the result of demographic problems of the developed countries, as well as Pico, whose volunteer work for his grandpa and voluntary assistant in whose operation is to encourage the youth to comply with the contract between generations and social levels and old people whose standard of living, in addition to the pension ago only be ensured by further work to extend the helping hand.
Tamotsu, a stranger who cares about the little boy wants to show the audience the importance of devotion and affection of adults for children, openly criticizing the education system, which calls attention to the fact that the youth is our future.
As Tamotsu and Pico sit in a car, Tamotsu shows the young lad that it is bad to waste food, even if it's just one ice cream cone. Distracting the boy in every imaginable way and punishing him when he drops the ice cream, this anime shows us the problems of hunger in the world and the lack of supply Third World countries.
I will start with the outstanding art now, since I don't want to spoil more of this deep and beautiful story, that the anime Boku No Pico has to offer.
Just like the story, the animation deserves an obvious 10/10:
This magnificent, profound story is supported by the high quality animation, brought to us by studio Natural High.
Different then in low-budget productions like for example anything Kyoto Animation or Studio Madhouse ever did, they showed us the typical wardrobe you would see on an eight year old boy.
In the few scenes where you see the characters naked, one is overwhelmed by the juvenile, bodies and perfect anatomy. The movements, usually in the pelvic region, are high above average. There are found no still images and repetitions.
Sound is also 10/10:
The voice acting is brilliant, every character has a perfect voice. There is no english dub available sadly, but I hope there will be some day. The opening is probably one of my favorites of all time.
There is not much more to say in the sound department.
Boku No Pico is an anime for the whole family, showing you morals for young and old.
Most kids will not understand most of the symbolism, but it is still a very enjoyable show for everyone.
Boku no Pico is a superior blend of genres. The comedy portion of the series was so hilarious: the word games with Cocos name made me laugh days after seeing this OVA. In addition, we have the drama part that made me cry more then any show ever did before. Will Chico's sister come home before Chico and Pico are done with games? Will Coco and the two guys ever be able to settle their differences? These questions kept me on the edge of the seat through most of the show.
Boku No Pico is probably the best anime ever, no the best piece of film ever.
It has better animation then Attack on Titan, a deeper story then 2001, is funnier then the Simpsons, and is overall just a masterpiece you have to see for yourself. read more
Do you know what the problem with traps is? They're not clearly yaoi. With yaoi you can just clearly state that "dude, I ain't interested in guys", but traps are 100% feminity. It's what you would call "p-confusing", saying you hate traps is like denying all the charms women have, and unless you're a mutated species that reproducts on its own, that you cannot say (take a wild guess what the p stands for). However! You can fool my eyes but not my ears! He might look feminine but in truth... (looks at voice actor)
Well, thanks a lot a$$holes.
Pico is a gi...bo... A child that lives in a tourist-resort island (Imagine the island from dead island riptide minus the flesh-eating zombies) along with its grandfather, where it works at a cafe-bar owned by said grandfather. A brave young japanese man... No wait, let me write that properly: A brave young japanese CLEARLY-MAN visits the cafe and gets acquainted with the grandfather, who in turn introduces Pico (who at the time is crossdressing). Naturally the protagonist thinks the incredibly cute child is a girl, and when the grandfather asks him to take care of the child his inner catholic priest can't help but smile. After some touring around the island and plenty of unintentional (?) teasing by Pico, the MAN has had enough, and just goes on to have sex/violate the kid. And while he enjoys absolutely illegal-even-by-Japan's-standards sex with the kid in his car, he discovers Pico's little (oh thank god) surprise between his legs... And he doesn't give a f#$ %. (to be fair though, if you are a catholic priest discovering the child is actually a boy is propably considered a bonus).
And they have sex, and more sex, and more sex, then they break-up (considering what they had could be called a "relationship", then Pico cuts his hair trying to reduce his feminity (fails, miserably) and then they have even more passionate sex. And so we come to the conclusion: Why do people flame on this so much? Aren't there a gazzilion other trap animes out there? (ok maybe not so many). The answer is that... It's actually well directed, well voice-acted and osted and generally well-made. And since noone wants to admit that a hentai about traps was, in fact, pretty good, people will end up flaming on it.
story: 5 I guess...
art: 7 for the time it got out it was pretty good
character: 5 I guess? While the protagonist does "stand out" it's not as a character (pun intended)
enjoyment: no fu$%ing idea mate
overall: 6-7read more
Boku No Pico is an anime OVA hentai series that is wrong in so many ways!
It's a hentai, yaoi, shotacon/reverse lolicon. The first two I don't mind but that last one reads jailbait.. or least disturbing.
Please allow me to quickly justify the fact that I watched this.
Have you heard of the Boku No Pico challenge? You probably have, but in case you haven't, basically you have to survive through watching all three OVAs. Yes that's right, I watched all 3 and I do not reccomend it to any functional human beings.
There's not much story (hentai rarely ever has story)
1st OVA My Pico
Pico is a young prepubescent boy who has a very feminine appearance. During the summer Pico is working a part time job when he meets an older man named Tamotsu who thinks Pico is a young girl and he tries seducing Pico and before long they get sexual and Tamotsu learns that Pico is actually a young boy but they still end up having sex and Tamotsu buys girl clothing for Pico.
2nd OVA Pico and Chico
Pico makes a friend! Chico is another prepubescent young boy that ends up becoming Pico's friend. Pico and Chico end up watching Chico's onee-chan masturbate and Pico sduces Chico into having sex with him and they go on many sexual adventures the following day.
3rd and final OVA Pico x Coco x Chico
Pico and Chico meet Coco, yet another prepubescent child who looks even more feminine than Pico but is yet again a boy. Coco lives under a subway in the city. Pico gains feelings for Coco and they have sex.. the following night, Pico catches Chico and Coco having sex... geez I don't want to continue but basically the three have.. well.. a threesome.. on top the Tokyo Tower (this was the goofiest scene in the whole series)
I'm embarrassed to have even laid my eyes on this anime.
The art style is pretty good, but nothing special.
The characters are mostly prepubescent boys (with the exception of the full grown man, Tamotsu).
I'm an adult heterosexual male and I personally don't get grossed out or disturbed by yaoi anime/manga, but when it comes to shotacon or even lolicon, that's a huge red flag for me and as I was watching this I felt extremely uncomfortable.
During the first OVA I felt like I was going to be sick.
During the second OVA I felt paranoid because I was so embarrassed about it.
During the third OVA *sigh* I just felt like getting it done and over with *facepalm*
*sigh* Hentai is a guilty pleasure and whatever you're into, it's not my place to judge but this is obviously an anime I'm against and cannot reccomend to anyone.read more

It is said that in order to fully appreciate a masterpiece, you must discover its complete opposite. This is why, as your average anime reviewer, I searched for the biggest failure in the industry, something I would easily rate 1 out of 10. As you probably know, there are currently three anime that stand apart from the rest of the medium’s filth as the worst of the worst: Mars of Destruction, Pupa, and… Boku no Pico. Made in 2005, Mars of Destruction is a 20-minute OVA with early-`90s animation where characters are randomly introduced instead of being given names (excluding the protagonist Hinata Takeru, who’s yet another poorly-crafted product of the Shinji Ikari Replica Factory); where Beethoven’s classic compositions are, for some reason, inserted into the OVA’s soundtrack; where a random, out-of-nowhere superweapon is shoved into the plot to save the day, and where the world’s worst plot twist occurs at the very end (Trust me; you have to see it to believe it). Pupa is a little longer than Mars of Destruction; it’s a 12-episode series but, with 4-minutes per episode, it never really had a chance to be successful in the first place. The series doesn’t really help itself by including a glorified slideshow of a theme song, woefully written dialogue, miniscule character depth, a truly disgusting episode 6, and a filler finale (probably the most unforgivable sin for an anime series). While Mars of Destruction and Pupa are far from perfect, they both contain traits that prevent them from being labeled “the worst anime ever”; for Mars of Destruction, the soundtrack (though horribly out-of-place for this title) is actually really good and, for Pupa, a vague hint of a plot is just enough to avoid the unenviable label. With Boku no Pico, however, it’s much more challenging than the previous titles to find positive traits and to review this anime in a general, unbiased fashion.
Where do I begin with Boku no Pico? It’s an OVA that clocks in at around 40 minutes, endowed with amazingly average animation and the most elementary soundtrack imaginable. There are only three characters in Boku no Pico, none of them memorable whatsoever. Tamotsu is our subpar self-insert protagonist of the day, a character devoid of distinct features, personality, emotion, or a general purpose. Next is what’s assumed to be the grandfather of the titular character, whose job is to smoke a pipe, utter one to two lines, and subsequently fade into the background (To describe him as “forgettable” would be a massive understatement). Pico, the titular character, is the only one of the three who receives any hint of depth; he’s a shy, friendless klutz seeking understanding and companionship (Pico also grows to enjoy cross-dressing). Unlike Mars of Destruction and Pupa, this anime isn’t remembered for its flaws; instead, the reason why Boku no Pico is so infamous throughout the anime world is due to the genre it falls under. This is an industry that has seemingly legitimized itself through the field of ecchi so, for Boku no Pico to be blacklisted the way it has, this anime must’ve done something truly unprecedented. If you’re one of the few lucky souls who haven’t heard of this title already, you’re probably asking “What genre did Boku no Pico’s producers choose to do?” (For those with sensitive stomachs, now’s a fantastic time to stop reading) The answer, my friends, is child porn.
Boku no Pico should’ve been a simple slice-of-life title (Pico spends his vacation with Tamotsu, who becomes his friend/mentor and teaches him the little things to appreciate about life) but what Natural High (the studio that produced and wholly endorsed this anime) chose to do was degrade this into a sexfest. Boku no Pico begins with Tamotsu looking at a naked Pico through a viewing scope at a park (Through Tamotsu’s point-of-view, there’s a vomit-inducing upward panning shot of Pico’s body, like he’s Ursula Andress in Dr. No or something). Tamotsu eventually meets Pico face-to-face and they return to the park, where our protagonist kisses the back of Pico’s neck. They then munch on ice cream in Tamotsu’s car, where Pico licks the ice cream that spilled on Tamotsu’s shirt, and it all goes downhill from there. Tamotsu and Pico (both guys, in case you’ve somehow forgotten) engage in brutal, kinky sex in Tamotsu’s car and bedroom; during this disgusting stretch, Tamotsu drops an overload of exceedingly creepy lines (“Are you turned on too, Pico?”, “I want to see it all, everything about you, Pico”, etc.). After the bedroom sex, what occurs is easily my favorite part of this torture chamber of an anime: Pico runs away from Tamotsu. When this happened, I said “YEAH, SON!”, produced a passionate fist-pump, high-fived myself, and somehow resisted the urge to cheer as loudly as possible. After gouging my eyes out for at least fifteen consecutive minutes, here was (finally!) a reason to stop. When Pico left Tamotsu’s house (just a legitimately classic moment), my imagination ran wild. Fueled with absolute ecstasy, I thought that there would no more horrific sex scenes, that Pico would call the police, that our deranged child molester of a protagonist would be behind bars, that the grandpa would give Tamotsu a brutal right hook to the chin, that the grandpa would spend more time with Pico and be more important to the plot, that Boku no Pico would have a happy ending, that –
But of course they have sex again.
When Tamotsu and Pico are finished, the show transitions to its final scene. Here we see a naked Pico swaddled in sheets on Tamotsu’s bed. With the utmost affection in his eyes, Pico looks at the camera and whispers “I love you” before the screen fades to white, and the process of mental scarring is complete. While enduring Boku no Pico, my jaw dropped at what I was witnessing; my face was frozen in a permanent cringe; I felt goosebumps crawling all over my skin; my insides were hurting; I felt nauseous (This lasted for a full two days) and I often looked away from the screen. Although I saved myself somewhat from actually seeing the worst of Boku no Pico, I could not, however get rid of the sounds (oh Lord help me, THE SOUNDS); the moaning, the panting, the squirting, the squishing, the kissing, the rubbing, the smacking, and (worst of all) the crunching were all too much for me to tolerate. However, as much as this kills me, I have to admit Boku no Pico isn’t the worst anime ever because the animation and soundtrack weren’t all that bad; just run-of-the-mill; then, there’s the aforementioned classic scene (the one moment I actually felt enjoyment in this ordeal) and (above all else) there’s a purpose to Boku no Pico. Natural High promoted this OVA not because it has any actual merit but because they knew it would be unforgettable (Boku no Pico was released in 2006 and, ten years later, it’s still remembered). Say what you want about Boku no Pico but you have to admit it’s not another Dragon Ball Z rip-off or some overdramatic gore-fest. There have been innumerous titles that have been described as “unique” but Boku no Pico is truly one-of-a-kind, and that’s what ultimately prevents me from labeling this the worst anime ever. read more
