Masterpiece of Shojo!! Well, I can't help from making several fanfiction based on this. Although some of them are war-related FF. I prefer to enjoy the music instead of the romance because I'm a maturing man.
The story is extremely well-built to show who fights who to gain Kahoko's love. I know that such an anime wold be classified as shojo, but I took the wrong anime.
The art or the design is perfect. From the school's layout until Kahoko's bruises are well-drawn. Their clothing vary widely and used equally one another, depends on situation and airtime proportions. Nothing more expected.
Speaking of sound in music anime is ... compulsory. The classical pieces are reduced in order to conserve time for romance. But we can find the original pieces in the classic collection. The Opening Song "Brand New Breeze" is extremely good, beyond perfect for an anime soundtrack. This song is made by classical music style, already giving vague idea how this anime will go.
The character is largely S.S.D.D. (short for "same shit different days", USMC term) with nothing much difference, only very rational appearance, I'll skip the bishonens because I'm not gay.
Enjoyment is also perfect. An exceptional fan-service is when so-called Yunoki-sama (I prefer to say U-know-kisama) is literally going to rape Kahoko (WTF!!), the scene is set, just do that and goodbye lucky bitch.


I like Shoko Fuyuumi, though. She makes me fapping on my imagination, damn you, little shy bitch!

a very unique and lovely series. And straight-forwardly i have never seen a show like this.

You totally want to put yourself in Hino's shoes(girls do~) you have so many hot pretty boys around her, and you never know who'll she'll end up with, and that might be the annoying part to some people. I have recommended this show to 3 of my friends all of them saying they loved it and are hocked so much they're buying the manga just to find out who'll she'll pick ^^
and for classical music lovers like myself, were caught in a lovely daze as ... the beautiful music began to play famous names and songs are constantly mentioned, you can totally relate to the show as well.

This anime was very good towards the music area. They showed a very good display of instruments and classical pieces such as the canon or Salut' d amour. The animation was decent overall, at some points it was really well done, some werent so flattering. But the story line is very good and the characters you'll fall in love with! ^^

La Corda was one of the first animes I watched from start to finish a few years back. The story is nothing spectacular or other-worldly, but the way it was conveyed felt so...magical. Maybe it was the music, or the art style. But, whatever the case, I finished this series feeling so good about it. It's nothing super serious or revolutionary, but it definitely is a feel-good kind of show. Especially for those who enjoy the reverse genre.

The show is cute and soothing so, if you're looking for a nice way to pass the time, I think that it is worth a watch. It ... doesn't have a whole lot of rewatch value, but I think it was a great show overall.

It’s not the greatest thing to watch out there, but it’s also not the worst. If you have anything else you’ve been putting off watching you’re better off watching that, its kind of like EvolxLove which is more recent but yeah, watch if you want just don’t expect this like awesome story, the romance is basically the drama. I thought dark green hair guy was obviously preferred here, as in she liked him it would’ve been better if they had a little bit more of everyone so that it would seem like everyone has a shot with her, or if they gave dark green hair ... and her an ending together but I guess it’s up to interpretation. It’s kind of unique but neither the music, art, or story stand out, but the music is good don’t get me wrong about that.

7/10. It was pretty good. Beautiful art/animation, nice music, good voice acting. I remember enjoying it because it had a slight plot with the music competition and wasn't solely focused on romance. The romantic moments were definitely there but not too overdone. I feel like with almost every other reverse harem (except Ouran which is above its genre), it's painfully obvious "this is a harem". Characters usually have very little personality and are mostly just tropes for the viewer to project themselves onto, which makes for a weak story. La Corda D'Oro does better in this regard as characters feel a little more fleshed out, ... especially Len Tsukimori who is influenced to change his view of music over the course of the story. Kahoko herself is sort of annoying and mopey but not nearly as bad as some other reverse harem heroines. The other male protagonists also have their own backstories and relate to Kahoko in different ways. In short, it's (somewhat) believable why they would fall for her. Overall I felt the cast was pretty solid and the story felt very natural as it progressed. I would recommend it to any shoujo fans out there.

Short review: The character design, settings, stereotypical characters and sub-plots are very typical of an otome-game adaptation. But I should say, compared to other reverse harem series where the FL is timid, helpless and needs to be saved all the time, Kahoko is somehow strong and stubborn. Kiniro no Corda: Primo Passo's story is character-centric, thus, the focus is more on their development rather than adding extremely shocking scenes that will put you on the edge of your seat. If you like these elements so far, I recommend watching the anime.

Now, here's a longer review.

General Plot: There was nothing very grand about the plot, but ... I like how they managed to give the love interests, even the side characters enough (fair) screen time and backstories (very fitting for role play game adaptation). Although the male characters have the same bishounen look with different hairstyles, they were given a chance to be remembered in their own unique ways. It's also refereshing that there are significant female characters (friends) who have their stories highlighted and who aren't annoying.

Climax : There were a lot of things left unclosed. The dialogues are very vague, but somehow they understand each other. Most of the conflicts are internal, and everything gets fixed by again, vague words. I wish there were actual confrontations but it's a role play game adaptation, you really can't expect something very deep.

Romance: If you're looking for a music anime with a strong romance plot, don't expect much from Kiniro no Corda: Primo Passo. As I mentioned, they tried to give each male character fair screen time and some romantic scenes with the FL. Although it's a bit obvious who the main guy is, nothing grand really happened till the end in terms of romance. The friendships are beautiful, though. There were some cute FL + male character moments, too, that you may enjoy.

Art style: I like this anime's art style compared to the latest versions. I wish there were more emphasis on their hands when playing music, but I guess it's out of the budget since most of the well-animated parts are during the major characters' performance (violin and piano).

Music: I really enjoyed hearing the music while watching this anime. I also love that each character has their own musical flavor based on their traits. Len, for instance, has a skillful, technical style which fits his perfectionist character. However, it is not heavy on the music but focuses more on what's happening to the characters internally while practicing or performing.


Overall, it's a good, wholesome series if you want something lighthearted and not too complicated.
