Gintama': Enchousen

Despite Gintama': Enchousen being shorter than its previous seasons, it still brings the action and comedy part of the show, never leaving, but always staying one step ahead. By doing this, the emotional impact the show brings into the series in some of the small and major arcs is shown in great detail, this leaves the viewers speechless at how perfectly it's put together.

Comedy isn't that strong in series as of late, even in most of the series airing the comedy was either pretty bad or they started out great, but than ended up as failures from becoming great. Knowing when to be funny in ... a show is essential to making a series great. If you just half-ass your way it won't become funny anymore, instead it will just be a generic show trying too hard. From the Fall and Winter seasons numerous shows tried doing this and they just burnt out near the end. Some recovered themselves near the end, barely.

However, Gintama is able to keep its comedy approach, knowing when to do it at the right time and not forcing itself too much. This gives the show a strong appeal to the fans that look for laughs.

We can't just talk about the comedy of Gintama though, the action and emotional part of the show is able to perform so well that its surprising. It makes you think, "How can a show be so funny, yet so great in so many vast amount of genres?" It really is speechless to say, at least from my standing and maybe you'll be able to question this yourself sometime too.

When it comes to Odd Jobs, also known as Yorozuya in its Romanized name, great hardships befall them. This ranges from running out of money due to the lack of jobs—to putting themselves into greater danger more so than the Shinsengumi, also known as the "Special Police Force." By going to such great acts of danger they're able to overcome and help the people they hold dear as friends.

Another great thing about Gintama is its characters. Gintoki, Shinpach, Kagura, and don't forget about Sadaharu, their pet dog; If it can even be classified as a "dog," have if not the best and unique characters in Anime. Despite Gintoki being the leader his personality takes a 180 turn from being serious, to trolling the viewers by picking his nose and always reading manga. Like Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura have pretty much the same type of personalities of Gin but show it in a different way.

The general theme of Gintama has no boundaries, right? Right. It's able to clash from fighting Aliens known as the Amanto that harm their beloved country to fighting corrupted Shoguns that only seek power. This also relates to its artwork by going into an Olden historical setting and even space.

In the soundtrack department, Audio Highs who's worked on all of the previous seasons and this one also shows how she/he is able to compose and arrange the music in the correct places throughout the series. While Amoyamo who played the first opening song, "Let's Go Out" of Gintama Enchousen and SPYAIR who performed the second opening song, "Sakura Mitsu Tsuki" as well as many other songs from the previous seasons is able to show a calm but catchy beat in all of their songs. The ending song is rather catchy as well, performed by PAGE - "Expect."

In the end Gintama lives up to being a great classic to the viewers. A show that can bring comedy, emotion, action and an historical type setting all into one, while keeping strong to its general based theme is Gintama. Odd Jobs will never be forgotten, they shall return one day and when that day comes, prepare yourself.

Gintama' Enchousen, one of the top anime on the list and there's only like 3 episodes out.. that says alot right there. to people who think gintama is overrated, try watching it. It's not bad, in fact its great. Give it a try, and this dipshit afdal is just bitching out because his favorite anime wasn't number one

For me Gintama became number 1 for this reasons: Good Story, Originality, Character Personality, Funny, and Great Action.

- The story for gintama is always great.. And the twist that they did where they changed the main character as Sakata Kintoki was genius.. And I love ... how story arcs are only 4-5 episodes, so it's highly rewatchable

-Might not be as great as other anime out there.. but I can't complain either

-This season was so hilarious.. The way they changed the opening to "Kintama" was genius.. And the BGMs always sets the mood.

Character: 10
-I think this is where Gintama shines most. There's not a dull character in this anime.. Everyone is so fun and unique in their own way. You will love them.

Okay this is my first time writing a review. So let's give this a shot.

Story (10): Gintama does have a story, unlike most people who haven't thoroughly watched the show don't believe it has. The overall plot is about the three characters who work in an odd-jobs. Though the story is episodic at times, they will often be serious arcs that are compromised of a couple episodes. This is where the overall plot and character development most of the time happen (though sometimes episodic episodes have development to). In these you can see that Sorachi is developing towards a bigger picture. Though right now let's ... say the plot is about the main characters and their daily lives and the struggle the go through as things from the past and current will come and get in their way. Gintama is about life and life doesn't have a plot until you stop and look back on it.
Right now Enchousen is picking up were Gintama left off in the manga using some of the bigger arcs. It has some re-runs mixed inbetween which you can watch or skip.

Art (8.5): I find gintama's art to be very nice though maybe not the best. The anime art is defiantly better than the manga's lol. I admit I preferred the art the had in Gintama' 2012. I sometime's find Enchousen's art to be a little more iffy then before (probably trying to match Sorachi's new way of drawing). None the less it's still nice. The animation is really amazing, Sunrise really knows what they are doing and get's creative with it. The fights will put you on the edge and the beautiful moments are just that.

Sound (9): The new openings and endings are simply wonderful. You can also tell that sunrise is trying harder on background music and sound track. The voice acting is top notch like always and really get's you in the mood being set.

Character (10): This is one of the things Gintama excels at besides storytelling. The character are all really unique and individual. They break out of the norms for shoenen characters and are just like every day people. The woman are some of the most well done you can find in a series, very strong and independent and sorta unladylike (looking for female fanservice? doesn't happen often here). All the characters have they're own motives or reasoning, you can really feel there emotions. Unlike what somebody said before there is development and you can see that especially in the bigger arcs like the ones enchousen are showing. They are different from how they started.

Enjoyment (10): If you can't tell from all my previous ranting. Gintama is a really enjoyable shows. Even the re-runs being shown now are some of the funnies episodes. You will not find a moment in this show where you are not crying, laughing, or on the edge with excitement. I don't think there is a person that has watched more than 60-70 episodes who can't say they didn't enjoy it. Give it a try, it may start slow but you'll find yourself hooked in no time.

Gintama':Enchousen was extremely great, I expected nothing less.
Story:10
First off we get the episode with Kintoki as they promised from the last episode of Gintama', it was mostly for the lols but it also focused on Gintoki's bond with his companions and friends, it showed how close they actually are to each other, especially to Kagura, Shinpachi, Otae, Tama and Sadaharu. The second arc of Gintama':Enchousen revealed a little more of Gin-san's past to us and gave Shigeshige shogun an important role to play in, and it shows that Kagura is still friends with the Shogun's sister, the princess that ran out of the castle ... in the early episodes. The third arc focused on the Shimura siblings' past&the dojo, they also show us how Shinpachi has grown stonger and that he's not just some character that only plays the straightman role, it also shows Tae's kind of lovable side too. We also get to see a different side of Gin-san and what kind of relationship the Shinsengumi and Yagyuu clan have with Sakata Gintoki.
Art:10
Everything looks amazing in HD, Gintoki&Kagura picking their nose, Sadaharu's urine, Shinpachi's main body, Mayonnaise, epic Gintoki's battles, Shogun's pantsu and more. The animation and art in the openings& endings are very relaxing to watch.
Sound:10
The openings are awesome, my favorite one has to be "Sakura Mitsutsuki", it really suits the arc that it's in and very pleasant to my ears, also very beautiful for both the art and the song. "Let's go out" also sounds great. The endings are beautiful, especially "Expect" which was very cute.
Character:10
Alot of character development, most are from Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi&Tae. Alot of Gintoki's past were revealed, Shinpachi grew up and Otae is actually able to talk nicely to Kondo Isao. (Spoiler:In the first arc, Tsukuyo, Sarutobi, Kyubei, Katsura and Hasegawa were able to remember Gintoki, even after they got hypnotized again, it didn't work, this shows how close they actually are to Gintoki, Otae was also the first person to remember Gintoki along with Kagura and Shinpachi, this shows that their bonds are very close to each other)
Enjoyment:10
We got alot of actions from Gintoki and the gang, alot of feels from Gintoki and the gang, very good soundtrack and we also got to see Shogun play a very important role. It still keeps the comedy part of the show too.

Very good story that links to other episodes, very nice animation&art, beautiful soundtracks, lots of character development, very enjoyable, Gintama DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.
P.S. Dont finish all the episodes too fast or else you wont find anything to fill the void after you finish Gintama as a whole.

This might be the shortest season of Gintama but I love everything about it, from the Kintama Arc which solidified my love for both the characters and for their bond; to the courtesan of nation arc which is pumping me up for the future serious arcs and let me tell you that that arc has one of the best music, fight scene and storyline in the series; to the Beam Sword Style Arc which made me wonder if I should take it seriously or not because the whole thing is both good and farcical and of course there's Sadaharu, our gigantic and adorable dog.

Overall, ... it is an excellent season. Gintama lives up to the viewers expectations.

Story - Sorry, but Gintama has no story, there is no plot at all. It's been like this since the beginning, to say it can get away with that just because it has stand alone adventures is ridiculous, just look at Cowboy Bebop or Mushishi, these shows also have many stand alone adventures and yet they have a story, Gintama can get serious from time to time, but it doesn't have real character development and it has a 'story' that goes nowhere.

Art - Average, as always. Art is getting better with each new season, but it's ... still pretty average, almost Bleach and Naruto standards, which means it can get pretty detailed and fluid animation in some episodes, but for most of the show it's average.

Sound - The music always seems to convey the right mood, openings and endings are fine.

Character - Likeable characters, but 0 development. All they do is fool around. Some times it feels like I'm watching Family Guy or some stupid show like that, everyone is trying to be funny in their own way, that's about the only compliment I can give them.

Enjoyment - Very enjoyable show, it has some very funny moments. If a review only depended on this aspect, then I would give Gintama a score of 8.

There are some differences between seasons of Gintama one of most important is that Gintama is getting more serious first season is more like a comedy one second and third and bit serious and like this till the end. There are lot of people who don't really like this and i will say its personal, I like where it’s going because it has potential this way too and i like that they are using it and I must also say that comedy part isn't lost its just got less. Third season consists of 12 episodes so it’s more serious than comedic, it consists of two ... stories which focus on real life problems. First story can be interpreted in a lot of ways some people will say that it means that people can't be changed and you are unique, but i think it means that old is better than new. The reason i think so because second story said in third season says that new is better than old it is really weird two opposite things said in one season its style of Gintama.

Gintama is the most awesome anime I've ever watched, it's true that there are many great animes out there but I find them too common. Like for example, Naruto, Bleach or One piece which have almost the same plot, but I admit those three animes are good too. I'm just saying my opinion, so I think Gintama deserved to be number 1. It's almost an all in one anime. There are fights, romance, comedy and many more that you can't see in other animes. It's whole new different anime so if you haven't finished watching it yet. DON'T FRIGGIN' JUDGE.

Story - Gintama is such ... a random anime but it HAS a story. It's HAS an awesome story so shut up first and watch it.

Art - The art is very nice.

Sound - Of course the sound is waaaaaaay more awesome.

Characters - This. THIS IS GINTAMA'S BEST. The characters, you won't see such characters in the other animes, all of them are unique and have different deep personalities. If you think they are just being random, no, they have their own awesome stories.

Enjoyment - I wouldn't say anything more~

Gintama: Enchousen was amazing no doubt about it. Everything from the epic fights to the humour to the super sad parts about it, everything was amazing. It was truly jaw-dropping to see all the past arcs come together, the Yoshiwara arc, the promises from the first few episodes of Gintama, and the Shogun arcs as well. All amazing.

The Story: This is quite different from the other Gintamas. THERE IS AN ACTUAL STORY HERE. and it's amazing! It was comprehensible and flowed amazingly. 10/10

Animation: Beautiful. 10/10

Music: Ok music is good but compared to the musical animes nothing special. 7/10.

Why you should watch it: If you watched ... the other Gintamas, this is a no brainer. Its #11 for a reason.

This season is so interesting because it's entirely filled with episodes that carry a serious tone. Gintama is always funny, but everything from the three arcs in this season to the only episodic-type episode carried emotional content. And I loved it.

So, yes, you aren't getting as much straight comedy in this season. If that is the only part of Gintama you like (I don't know why you would be crazy enough to only love the comedy, though), then this season veers away from that. There's only one major story arc, but all the episodes are heavy in one way or another.

The theme of this ... season, for the most part, seemed to be how important and precious Gintoki is as a main character, as a friend, and as an ally. This season did remarkably well to show character development for most every sector of the main cast by showing how Gintoki affects their daily lives. It was honestly really refreshing to cry more often while watching this season because the stories that are being told at this point have so much weight to them because of the history we have with the characters.

If you're wondering how the main story arc this season stands up against the rest so far, it's probably one of the better ones in terms of development of the plot and Gintoki's past. It did really well to lay out the main chess pieces in the growing conflict in Edo to help the audience understand who was important and who stood on what side. As I said, Gintoki's character also got great development through this arc.

I can't say much about the comedy this season as it wasn't as present as before. It didn't feel like another character this season but rather an element of the overall anime. If that worries you because you think Gintama should be a comedy primarily, I can assure you that the lightheartedness still lives on in this season right alongside the action and emotion, it just carries more weight with it.

The art this season was gorgeous as well, especially during the close-up shots of Gintoki's face during the battle scenes. The contrasts and details were beautiful. Another thing I noticed this season that I haven't really paid attention to in the past was the soundtrack. In the main story arc, at least, I noticed that the soundtrack backing the battle scenes had improved a lot and was lending a lot more to the overall tone of the scenes.

So, yeah, as an overall assessment of this season, I'd say it's probably the best so far. The other seasons' best parts are just as good, but this season didn't have a single episode that was moderately boring like previous seasons have had (though previous seasons have only had a handful of episodes like that). I'm looking forward to where this development will lead.

One of the big Enchousen things is that it covers the Kintama and Courtesan of a Nation arcs, which is a turning point on the series, become more plot-oriented and entering the whole political concept of the story, since it's based on the Edo period.


Although you won't laugh as much (which is one of the major strong points in the show), you'll crave for more as you watch this one, proving that Gintama is not just your everyday comedy series, but also one of the greatest shounen anime of all time.


The OST is also a great feature here, which makes battles even more exciting ... and totally worth the wait.

Well, let me begin by saying that Gintama': Enchousen is an anime that truly deserves its reputation as one of the funniest and most entertaining series out there. The story follows the misadventures of Gintoki Sakata, a samurai who now works as a freelancer in a world where aliens have taken over Japan.

The series manages to blend comedy, action, and drama in a way that is truly unique, and the Enchousen arc is no exception. It's filled with hilarious gags, epic fight scenes, and heartwarming moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

One of the things that sets apart from other anime ... is its unique style. The series is known for its clever parodies of other popular anime and manga, as well as its irreverent humor and fourth-wall-breaking antics. It's a series that doesn't take itself too seriously, but still manages to tell a compelling story.

Of course, no discussion of this would be complete without mentioning the main characters. Gintoki Sakata is a lovable rogue who always manages to come out on top, no matter how dire the situation. His friends and allies, such as Shinpachi and Kagura, are equally charming and hilarious, and the villains are suitably menacing.

What is Gintama about? Well, according to Gin-san: "We don't even know". But for me, Gintama is a great filler with some anime bows tucked in the middle of genius shapes.

Gintama tells a story about Japan at a time when it was dominated by alien forces, the plot focuses on our four protagonists: Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura and Sadaharu. Now speaking of the anime, Gintama is very good indeed, all the characters have a different charisma, from their personalities to their beliefs, like our revolutionary Zura, oh my mistake, "Zura janai, Katsura da.", Dear Hasegawa-san (Madao), the whole shinsegumi ... from Kondo-san (gorilla), Hijikata-san (mayonnaise) Okita-kun (sadist), among others. Seriously, there are soooo many characters, which turns out to be a problem too, as it's impossible to always show them all, so there are times when they just disappear for several episodes and yet more characters still appear, there are a few moments when that happens. makes it nauseating, but Gintama's universe is undoubtedly incredible, with the advent of aliens it is easy to put up with many different situations ranging from comedy (like all scenes in which Baka, I say, Hata Ouji appears) to dramas (Like Prejudice that exists between the amantos and humans), this is something strong in Gintama, is a shounen that has comedy as its essence, but knows how to create various heavy and sad situations, an example of this are the side storys of the villains, there are some that in fact they made me water. Apart from all these points, the songs, the soundtracks are wonderful, they fit the scenes very well and the amount they use is amazing (if you have the time looking for some playlist to hear some). And it's amazing how the stories fit together.

But undoubtedly, the characters are the most captivating things in the works, you may end up not liking one or the other, but it is impossible not to like at least one of them. Even such "villains" have their story very well developed, which makes you even more fond of Gintama, creating a special affection for this great "void of anime" and full of feelings. Not all episodes will make you laugh, or make you cry, but some of them will touch you, I'm sure, and don't underestimate Gintama because he wants to take everything in comedy, it's the author's way of showing that you should laugh even at times that seem impossible. Speaking of Gorilla (not Kondo), I find it impressive how he can mess with those who watch his work, but undeniable the clear improvement of the adaptation, the studio and director managed to give a unique air with all those 4th wall breaks.
Perhaps the only 'problem' in Gintama for us (from the west) is the various references to the culture there, such as the structure of their language or actors, comedians and the sennyu themselves (voice actors). Which makes some episodes extremely boring unless you really understand. I also think that not all ages can really appreciate Gintama, I remember I started watching when I was 10 ~ 11 and found it extremely, because I was a shounen without those screaming powers stuff or a protagonist who was really “badass” but Today, with my 19 years, I can enjoy much more. But I don't want to talk about it, so give Gintama a try, it's an amazing anime that has a lot to show you, both in history, in comedy, and of course in characters.

(PT-Br) Do que se trata Gintama? Bem, de acordo com o Gin-san: "Nem nós sabemos". Mas para mim, Gintama é um grande filler com alguns arcos de anime enfiados no meio de formas geniais.

Gintama conta uma história sobre o Japão em um momento em que ele foi dominado por forças alienígenas, a trama tem como foco nossas quatro protagonistas: Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura e Sadaharu. Agora falando do anime, Gintama é de fato muito bom, todos os personagens tem um carisma diferente, desde suas personalidades até suas crenças, como nosso revolucionário Zura, oh erro meu, "Zura janai, Katsura da.", o querido Hasegawa-san (Madao), toda a shinsegumi desde o Kondo-san (gorila), Hijikata-san (maionese) Okita-kun (sadista), entre outros. Sério, tem muuuuuuitos personagens, o que acaba sendo um problema também, pois é impossível mostrar todos eles sempre, então tem alguns momentos em que eles simplesmente desaparecem por vários episódios e ainda assim continuam a aparecer mais personagens, tem alguns momentos em que isso se torna enjoativo, mas o universo de Gintama é sem dúvida incrível, com o advento dos alienígenas fica fácil colocar várias situações diferentes que vão desde comédia (como todas as cenas em que o Baka, digo, Hata Ouji aparece) até dramas (Como o preconceito que existe entre os amantos e os humanos), isso sim é algo forte em Gintama, é um shounen que tem a comédia como essência, mas sabe criar várias situações pesadas e tristes, um exemplo disso são as side storys dos vilões, tem algumas que de fato me fizeram lacrimejar. Além de todos esses pontos, as músicas, as soundtracks são maravilhosas, elas encaixam muito bem com as cenas e a quantidade que eles usam é incrível (se tiver um tempo procura algum playlist pra ouvir algumas). E são impressionantes como as histórias se encaixam.

Mas sem dúvidas, os personagens são as coisas mais cativantes das obras, você pode acabar não gostando de um ou outro, mas é impossível de não gostar de pelo menos um deles. Até os tais “vilões” tem suas histórias muito bem desenvolvidas, o que te faz gostar ainda mais de Gintama, criar um afeto especial por esse grande “vazio de anime” e cheio de sentimentos. Nem todos os episódios vão te fazer rir, ou te fazer chorar, mas alguns deles vai te tocar, tenho certeza, e não subestime Gintama por ele querer levar tudo na comédia, é o jeito do autor mostrar que você deve rir até em momentos que parecem impossíveis. Falando do Gorila (não o Kondo), eu acho impressionante como ele consegue mexer com o quem assiste sua obra, mas é inegável a clara melhora da adaptação, o estúdio e diretor conseguiram dar um ar único com todas aquelas quebras da 4° parede.
Talvez o único ‘‘problema’’ em Gintama para nós (do ocidente) sejam as várias referências a cultura de lá, como na estrutura de sua língua ou atores, comediantes e os próprios sennyu (dubladores). O que faz alguns episódios serem extremamente “chatos”, a menos que você realmente entenda. Também acho que nem todas as idades conseguem apreciar de fato Gintama, lembro que comecei a assistir quando tinha 10~11 anos e achei extremamente, pois era um shounen sem aquelas coisas de gritar poderes ou um protagonista que fosse de fato “badass”, mas hoje, com meus 19 anos, consigo aproveitar muito mais. Mas eu não quero me estender falando disso, então, deem uma chance a Gintama, é um anime incrível que tem muito o que te mostrar, tanto em história, quanto em comédia e, claro, em personagens.

This is my first review on an anime. I'll try to write my best and try to keep it simple.
Well, Gintama':Enchousen, at first i thought was a non-canon or filler arc. But the more i watched the more i became surprised and astonished. Alright, my first impression on this season on this season of Gintama will be , "I never thought an anime would question itself why the main character in the show is needed, what good does he and is he good enough for the show?" These were some questions answered by this Gintama season beautifully. WHY Gintoki is needed, what good is Gintoki ... and is he good enough for the show? These were answered in the first few episode of the season and I truly loved and was so beautiful.
Moving on, we all know Gintama can execute beautiful emotions from the simplest of storylines(which is not easy at all). This emotion execution was proved again by Gintama in the 2nd arc of the season. We all saw some love promise anime or storyline but the way Gintama executed it was truly beautiful and heartwarming. Aside from emotions, The action scenes of Gintama never disappoints. The fights gave me chills.
Then there is Gintama's extreme comedy which no one can Resist. I laughed extremely hard at those.
Besides that there were some important plot reveals, seeing Shinpachi acting as a grown up etc......

These 13 episodes are some of the best of Gintama, covering three arcs and a one-episode story, that demonstrates the balance of comedy, drama, and action that the series is known for. All the positives from Gintama’ remain, with the improvements in animation continuing on. Separating these short arcs from the rest of Gintama’ works well; especially ... for the first arc of the series.

Gintama’: Enchōsen stands out from the prior Gintama series’ due to the absence of multiple comedy episodes between the arcs. This changes the viewing experience but, due to Sorachi’s (and the staff’s) ability to mix humour into the more serious moments, the series is definitely not short on laughs. The only lasting effect of this pace change is that it makes the audience appreciate the stand-alone comedy episodes more when they return in Gintama (2015).

All in all, this series continues to work on the foundations established and shows that Gintama is a series that is confident in its formula but is wiling to shake it up (whether out of budget constraints, time constraints, or old fashioned trolling). This series is a must watch for anyone who enjoyed the previous seasons.

WOW!

Although I have rated everything related to Gintama I have watched out of 10 (note, it may seem the opposite, but I don't give 10/10s very easily. Gintama is just that good), but I can safely say, up till this point, this was the best Gintama got.
First, we have the Kintama arc, which is (apparently?) a serious arc, and sometimes it does feel that way, although it has its moments which are just bloody hilarious. Just having a serious arc almost entirely about breaking the 4th wall is genius in my opinion. It's a fantastic arc.
But the next arc. PHEW. It is really something. ... Called the "Courtesan of a Nation arc", in my opinion, this arc sent Gintama into another stratosphere, and is very important to build up to future arcs. And it is MINDBLOWING.

The basic premise, that I will say without spoiling too much, is that: Gin meets a courtesan in Yoshiwara, named Suzuran, who is apparently the most beautiful woman in Yoshiwara, but turns out she is very very old. She has been waiting for many many years for her lover who promised they'd escape Yoshiwara during the next full moon. So, Odd Jobs and Tsukoyo try and find this man. Its a simple premise, but it builds up to something incredible, which I won't spoil. Its got amazing comedy, breathtaking fight scenes (and amazing animation. Gotta give credit to Sunrise because the fight scenes are superb), and moments of intense emotion.

So yeah, watch it. Please

I've never cried so much in 13 episodes. This short season is the most compact TV version of what makes Gintama so amazing: emphasis on relationships between the characters, stories of humans bound by their individual vows, gripping personal and political storylines, and a wide array of dirty jokes.

I will admit that the Baragaki arc at the end of the previous season undershot my expectations, so I was a little worried going into the meatiest arc of this season. The Courtesan of a Nation arc blew my expectations out of the water with its grit, action, and reveals. The arcs that came before and ... after were also great, focusing more on the bonds Odd Jobs have built between other characters.

I will admit that I missed the comedy focused episodes/arcs in between the heavy stories. I watched the latter two arcs of the season in one day and now my tear ducts are completely spent.

Also, "Sakuramitsutsuki" is one of the best openings I've ever seen. Catchy, melancholic, with absolutely gorgeous animation and sakura aesthetic. Shinpachi's smile during the first chorus will now always hit different.

This was the shortest of the Gintama Arcs but it actually packs a lot in for 13 episodes. There are 3 main Arcs and few one-shot episodes.

Of the Arcs, the first is alright, the second was outstanding and the third decent. There's backstory and a lot of action. The downside is that the humour takes a bit of a backseat but it still made me chuckle and at least at one point cry which is pretty good for such a short arc. It also really benefits from having more budget than the original season.

Overall this is a really good addition to the Gintama ... series, and sets up the next Season nicely.

Story=10- AGAIN THESE 13 EP PACKS A PUNCH OF HEARTBREAKING STORIES AND DAMN THE FEELS. Simply put the story for this part was amazing

art=8-The art was definitely amazing in this one. The models, choreography and the fights were amazing.

sound=10- The sound is what make this season special. The voice of spyair in the 13th op is just......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that shit was too beautiful and very lit as well

character=10- Now this is what seperates gintama from other shows. The characters are all useful and not dragging. They are all different and unique in their own way and that ... what makes it good
