Synopsis

Everybody has had that stage in their life where they have thought themselves to be special, different from the masses of ordinary humans. They might go as far as seeing themselves capable of wielding mystical powers, or maybe even believe themselves to have descended from a fantasy realm. This "disease" is known as "chuunibyou" and is often the source of some of the most embarrassing moments of a person's life.

For Yuuta Togashi, the scars that his chuunibyou has left behind are still fresh. Having posed as the "Dark Flame Master" during his middle school years, he looks back at those times with extreme embarrassment, so much so that he decides to attend a high school far away where nobody will recognize him. Putting his dark history behind him, he longs to live a normal high school life.

Unfortunately, he hasn't escaped his past yet: enter Rikka Takanashi, Yuuta's new classmate and self-declared vessel of the "Wicked Eye." As this eccentric young girl crashes into Yuuta's life, his dream of an ordinary, chuunibyou-free life quickly crumbles away. In this hilarious and heartwarming story of a boy who just wants to leave his embarrassing memories behind, the delusions of old are far from a thing of the past.

A boy wishes to move on from an awkward phase of his life and recreate his image at a new school. Everything is going swell until he encounters an enigmatic girl whose eccentric behavior reminds him of the embarrassing memories he wishes to forget.

Adolescence is the metamorphosis of youth, where the wildness of imagination becomes aware of its own existence, as well as the existence of those other imaginations surrounding itself. Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! is a thematic story that addresses this period of change in life with interludes of comedy, romance, and drama. The writing is strong on all fronts--the anime does a ...

Mixed Feelings
Generally speaking when picking anime to view I’ll read the summary and watch the intro. For some reason I chose to do neither for this anime, and simply said “that’s a cool pic I’ll watch it” and 12 episodes and a week later I’m done with it.

I thought the first 50% of the show was boring for lack of a better word. It was not until they started explaining the background and why the main female character was the way she was that the show had any sort of interest. Sadly even the darker more emotional second half of this 12 episode show wasn’t enough ...

I generally enjoy KyoAni a lot, but one thing about this show just got to be too much: Yuuta resolves far too many of his own issues by hitting Rikka, repeatedly. yes, i know, it's just supposed to be silly and possibly cute. a random chop here & there is one thing; this is repeated, over and over. no idea why anyone thinks that kind of thing is fun or cute. it's gross, unncessary, and ruined this anime for me.

mal demands a longer review, but i've said all that i have to say about this. pretty stupid. but i'm used to mal having certain pointless ...
