Another Ghibli movie, this one holds the same charms. When I watched Castle of Cagliostro I couldn't help but think of moments in Laputa; they felt fairly linked in parts. If you enjoyed this one, watch Laputa, without a doubt!

In many ways Cowboy Bebop is a lot like a Lupin III in space. Both involve dangerous missions for money, beautiful women and dashes of comedy. Cowboy Bebop is more darker and violent than "Cagliostro" but both give you a feeling of high flying adventure!

A lot of the same themes: crests, ancient mysteries, puzzles, enormous castles, and masked villains.

Both spin-off films of pre-existing franchises, directed by influential figures in anime. Both were heavily divisive among the pre-existing manga fanbases upon release.

Fun group of neatly designed characters with good chemistry. Originated from TV series and directed by high-profile directors (Miyazaki and Hosoda). Castle of Cagliostro actually inspired Mamoru Hosoda when he was in 6th grade, hence why his own movie shares so many similarities with it.

Joseph Joestar and Lupin III are similar characters in how they are cheeky scoundrels who use fun bs like crazy disguises, bait and switches, and maneuvres to win the day. Fun adventures

Both share direction from Miyazaki and both have an adventure tone set against beautiful, highly detailed European style backgrounds.

It is about conspiracy in royal families, betrayal and finding out the truth. Although Lupin is a thief and not a police man he tries to be righteous if he sees someone in danger. This leads him to dangerous places where uncovers truths.

they both tell the story of elite thiefs

The sense of adventure mixed with real life danger is present in both although Baccano is a whole lot more graphic. Plus Lupin and Issac feel like exactly the same character.
