Greed Island is the second of 3 Hunter x Hunter OVAs. It chronicles Gon\'s search for his father, Jin/Ging Freecs. The only clue Gon has is the Greed Island game disc which is father left for him. Unfortunately he needs a special \"Joystation\" to play the game - and the Greed Island game is expensive (think $ Billions). Gon and Killua attempt to purchase the Greed Island game at auction. Thus begins the Greed Island OVA.

Similar to the first OVA and the Hunter x Hunter series, the animation is what we\'re used to - good but not fantastic. The sound is great even though by read more

Greed Island is a divisive arc, to say the least. While I myself really liked it, I can see why. The setting is a massive departure from what we’re used to, the tone got way lighter after the dark Yorkshin Arc, and overall, even by Hunter X Hunter standards this arc stands out as an odd one. The story is the same as the manga and the new adaptation. For new viewers, it's just a lot of MMORPG fun. The classic 'sucked into the game' ritual. It's Sword Art Online, but a million times better and with an actual plot. Honestly, this is read more

A respectable and enjoyable ova for the most part. This ova takes place after the end of the old version of Hunter x Hunter. They skipped some of the parts from the Yorknew city arc and also the pacing was a bit worse in this arc. The animation definelty improved but this lighter color scheme was kind of hurting my eyes but overall the art somewhat improved compared to the series. The sound was very good and it had that tone and vibe from the original series. The characters were pretty much the same and we didn't really get any new introductions on big screentime read more
