Both series show a fine interest in the life of someone who is determined to find out the truth and I believe that this is the closest thing to the sequel of Lain.

Both dubs are comedic/a parody, rather than a true translation of the original show.

Both shows center around a group of three individuals (two male, one female) who are members of a secret, powerful team that go up against an underground organization that aims to take over. The three members in both shows also wear color-coded outfits to make them stand out from one another, and both teams use legendary weapons against their foes. One may be a comedy featuring anthropomorphic robot cats, and the other may be more action-oriented and feature humans, but there's too many similarities here to ignore.

The same style of wacky, unexpected humor with occasional deadpan delivery. Both antagonists have a flair for unexpected humor and love of Edo-period culture despite living in a modern age.

Both are parodies of many thing - anime, music, films and pretty much everything else, both have simple plot and feature slapstick humour. But Bobobo is much more absurd.

They are not very similar but both anime's are a bit childish and don't make a lot of sense. And if you like that kind of comedy, the simple non-making-sense jokes than you'll like this too.
