New Dominion Tank Police

These two series are created by Masamune Shirow and focus on a police division in a futuristic setting. They also feature strong, independent female leads. 

Aside from both being police shows, they also both have a similar animation style, as well as a similar comedic style. Even though one is set in the present-day and one in the future, the city has a similar visual aesthetic in both of them. The main difference is that one uses tanks, and one uses patrol cars, but there's also some similarities here, with one of the main characters in each show being the gear-head who's always tuning up their vehicle. Many of the supporting cast members also seem to have pretty similar personalities between the two shows. 

both classics from my childhood with that over the top police action comedy moments, and both are fighting heavyloaded criminals, only dominion brings out the tanks, and Burn up at moments bring out the BIG GUNS
