There exists a personification of your innermost feelings and thought processes. In Chaos Head it exists as a "delusion", something brought into reality, while in Persona 4 it exists as a "persona". If you aren't careful, you can be killed.

JoJo is a series that has been heavily influenced by many titles, such as FotNS, but it has also had an influence over other series. The most obvious of these influences is the concept of 'Stands' and how similar - tarot cards and all, but thankfully without fusion - it is to 'Personas' seen in the Persona series. Whilst the moment Jotaro put a gun to his head instantly reminded me of Persona 3, rather than superficial aspets, it is more just the basic concept of a person having another self that fights for them - linked to tarot cards reflecting their combat abilities -  read more

both are Sci-Fi and mystery. both have something to do with gadgets like television in persona 4 and in moblie phone Steins;Gate . both are based on games. both have a girl partner besides them. both have mysterious or dark atmosphere. both have same feelings and excitement while watching.

Although these series are quite different in their mood and idea, they share the following two things: (1) Protagonists in both series get in a mysterious parallel world and fight there using powerful "familiars" (actually, they're not usual familiars, but explaining them would be a spoiler, so let's leave it at that). The reasons for fighting and effect of the battle outcome are really different, but the process is pretty much the same: the familiars combat under their owners command invoking different technics and weapons, and that makes a really nice and impressive action. (2) There is a mystery that protagonists are trying to figure out in  read more

Both Anime contain a group of kids with special powers trying to prevent the world from going to pot. Lots of angst, one is darker then the other.

People summoning creatures to fight in their commands. The art style is similar too. Although Persona have a lot of comedy, while Fate/Zero is darkly serious.

Both series present themes of supernatural and sci-fi as the protagonists battles in an alternate world filled with action, drama, and mystery. Both series' protagonists uses supernatural abilities in their fights and seemingly with a purpose as the story progresses.

Both involve students doing unschooly things like going inside dungeons. There is also great music. They also involve reaching out to the truth. Smack me for the punnery if you will.

In both animes, the main characters collect monsters to defeat other monsters on their journey. Also they have to defeat bosses. Persona 4 is a much darker anime though And finally both are amazing video game series

Pretty identical to Persona 4 mainly because protagonists meets other characters and they enter this other world that has evil in it leading them to defeat them and causing changes in the real world.

I've never tough of this before, but after I saw some fanart crossover between Digimon Adventure and Persona 4, I think they're actually similar... Better you should compare Digimon to Persona rather than Pokémon, why? because in both Digimon and Persona, they're really share much similarities... 1. in Digimon, partner are chosen by destiny, same goes to Persona 2. the human partners in Digimon must get their crest and active it... in order to use the crest, they must understand what're their crest really means, why it deserve to be his/her crest? if they've understand it and take an action about it, the tags and crest will active... same  read more

Persona 4 sometimes give off the same dark feel that death note emits. Also Yuu and Light's physical character design are the same. Only difference is that Light has a red hair.

I know that I got interested in Persona via a friend who also liked Umineko - but they both have "darker" themes, and a lot of the voice cast are in both. Ono Daisuke, Ohara Sayaka and Horie Yui all are in the two of these series.

Rag tag group of friends try to solve problems in another world, but things which appear lighthearted end up not being so. Both the main protagonists end up building up their team of friends over a period of time - but beyond that, snap - spoiler alert.

Both of these shows emphasise accepting ones' faults and admitting hard secrets in order to forge bonds. Both play up the power of friendship trope. Additionally, in both cases, the protagonists enter an alternate world to fight the evil in peoples' minds.

On the surface, not a lot of people will see the similarities. The premise for each are completely different. But one simple truth connects the two. If your looking for a high school anime with tons of high school antics, laughs and even some action thrown in, none could be better than these two anime. If you like one, I'm sure you'll like the other.

The main characters in both series are highschool students who form an investigation team, with both protagonists who start out as emotionless (for character development purposes in Yu Narukami's case) then they open up and gain friendships as they uncover secrets about their surrondings, but also energetic best friends who push the protagonist forward and are both associated with The Magician tarot card which explains their jealousy of the protagonists at one point. -Bonus: Culture festival booth crisis! Swimsuits! Main characters dressing up as other charcters/cross-dressing! Quiz shows! (in Persona 4 The Golden Animation)

Am I really the only one who doesn't understand how no one thought Day Break Illusion was similar to the Persona franchise? Both of these anime are taking place in present times with simple yet beautiful students developing and using tarot cards to fight "Shadow" like creatures appearing in a parallel world that also affect the real world. Day Break Illusion mainly focuses on the fight scenes and the dialogue between the main character and his enemies, which is interesting due to how guilty they felt over their actions. Their tarot cards power are portrayed to magical girls. Meanwhile, in Persona 4, there's a whole mystery to be  read more

Depending on what you like about it, if you like Shugo Chara, you may also like Persona 4! Both are about students awakening and coming to terms with a repressed side of themselves and manifesting it in the form of a guardian spirit that allows them to use special powers. They also use their power for good to help others and fight corrupted versions of people's repressed feelings

- A very similar, almost mystery puzzle-game like atmosphere. - Mysterious, deadly, supernatural phenomenon killing people off. - A lovable young police detective <3 - Investigations and storylines involve actual police, not just a bunch of children wandering around. Persona 4 does have an overarching plot but can come off as episodic due to it's slower nature, also some parts are probably a little weird for people who have not played the game. O;N on the other hand assumes no prior knowledge so it's easy to jump in if you're good with fast talking.

Credit must go to NoNameNoOne's 3-4 word (deleted) recommendation, for this. Judging a man for being one of few words is harsh--Kenshiro wouldn't last long on MAL! What was so unusually interesting about Persona 4 was its all-out-in-the-open, character breakdown style of development. Its cast each had a dungeon crafted from their inner desires - including but not limited to a homoerotic sauna - and, for the story to progress, each character had to face up to their true selves--accepting both the good and the bad, in front of their friends. Since it was first and foremost a game, the manner in which the cast got  read more

I can't believe anybody made this recommendation! xD Both shows are different in some ways, but they have so much in common: - Main characters enter in a "paralel world" and fight against strange beings - In "that world" the atmosphere is darker and have this psicologic thing in the air xD - If someone dies in the other side, die in the real world - Main characters "summon" things, like personas (Persona 4) or huge weapons (Madoka) - Some "contract" stuff - Great music So, I guess if you watched or played Persona 4, you'll like Madoka Magica ;D

Both have the same dark mystery vibe. They also both involve playing games in order to survive or get answers.

Persona 4 have Persona while Shaman King have Spirits. Both of them aid the protagonists in battle with the antagonists who uses the same powers as well.

Similar artstyle and similar start : Mysterious murders happened in the city MCs living at, and as it's revealed the incidents are related with supernatural events the MCs just discovered. The main characters in both anime are teenagers whose powers to summon a supernatural creatures to fight. Both anime are also adapted from an interactive game/VN with action RPG. However, Fate/ Stay Night : UBW is more serious and action-focused, while Persona 4, despite also has actions, more excels in its mysteries, comedies and the fun aspects of its characters' interactions.

Both series are fundamentally about coming to terms with every part of one's personality. The socially acceptable and the socially unacceptable. The ego vs. the super-ego. Although the way they explore this differ; NGE uses a mecha context and is definitely the darker of the two in terms of characterisation and plot, P4 on the other hand manages to remain more or less a light-hearted mystery/card-battle in spite of all the murders. - Pop-psyche references - Heavy religious references (Shinto in P4 and Judeo-Christian in NGE) - Explores creation myths - Trope subversions (more prominent in NGE) - Quirky designs re: Angels and Personas - 'The Importance of Interpersonal Communication despite  read more

Both of them take place in rural Japan and to varying extents involve it's decline. While Persona 4 is more subtle with this theme (due to the whole supernatural murder mystery aspect taking the forefront), it's certainly present with things like the chain store Junes destroying local businesses. This extends to some characters present in both series really disliking being stuck in the country, despite having to remain there for certain reasons (in Persona 4, Adachi is simply stationed in Inaba. In Sakura Quest, Erika has lived in Manoyama her whole life but can't leave due to still being a child).

Make a contract with me and become a... paranormal investigator... of sorts? P4 and DtB have a similar aesthetic going on. Very dark, muted colours for serious scenes, vivid colours for more relaxed endeavours. When the action gets going, it's flashy. Very, very flashy and over the top. Moral dilemmas. Sexy collarbones. It's all here.

"Bonds of people is the true power." One line from the Persona series pretty much sums up the story behind Little Busters. The core theme of both shows center around a group of people coming together, discovering, and helping to cope with each other's flaws and/or problems. Both shows are able the power of friendships, and what people can accomplish when they have a group of supportive friends.

Persona 4 is based on a game with a silent protagonist and the anime style reflects that. Lots of puzzle solving and game-like dialogues. Erased is on anime original but the style is very similar to a visual novel. In both the characters are developed through dialogue with the protagonist and you get the feeling that there are certain set routes one could go down through interaction choices. Persona adds a battle system to the mix as oppose to being purely puzzle-based. - Mystery solving - Murders - VN/game-esque style - The main antagonist share similar characteristics/motives
