Preliminary Spoiler
Jun 1, 2013
As a huge fan of both Kimi ni Todoke seasons, I couldn't wait to see what the specials were like.
The first two are adorable in my opinion, little comedic fairy tales with an Ume twist. Everything was smooth until the 3rd episode.

The 3rd episode is an attempt at 3D animation. I'm not sure why they chose to experiment with it, but I felt like it killed the whole cute feeling. Also, it didnt seem as well planned/plotted out as the first two.

This would've been a 10 for me if it werent for the 3rd episode feeling like a sore thumb.

Preliminary (2/3 eps)
These specials are short stories similar to fairy tales like Cinderella and Snow White with a very humorous casting of roles with characters from the series. For example Shouta would obviously be the prince, and believe it or not Kuronuma plays the witch. Who's the princess then? That would be Ume, but trust me for the sake of purely comedic purposes, she does not ever find a happy ending.

You can see where it's going now, but trust me it's several times more hilarious when you actually watch it.

The art is very simple, the toonish style they usually pull off for laughs in the series.

It's great ...
