Exactly the same everything, drawings, genre, harlem and all but better because of they are idiols!

Both stories are harem. Both stories involve cute guys that will make you fall in love. :)
report Recommended by kimmynova24
The heroine in both shows are almost emotionless and all the guys are after her. Each guy gets his own episode/arc.

Singing boys, reverse harem, Daisuke Ono (second season UtaPri). Lots of cheesy moments and lots of men driven to woo the One Strumpet. Both are romantic fan service driven towards ladies (and curious males) The male voice actors for both series sing in the beginning and endings (only Uta No Prince Sama is more geared towards the men and their individual songs where this one is more geared towards mythology in some way) And both are Otome game series by Broccoli.

If you like boys idol shows then you've just got to see B-Project. It is like Uta-pri with a more in depth insight to daily idol life that feels more authentic. Don't get me wrong, I love Uta-Pri, but B-Project just felt like a mature version of it.
report Recommended by MemiHime
Exactly the same except the setting is more exciting with Uta no Prince Sama because of the idol settings.

Singing idols, reverse harem but with magical abilities.

Although the art and plot are different, both animes are about a girl, who is surrounded by bishies, trying to make it in the world of show biz. Although the humuor is different, if you liked one you wil like the other :D Also, even though, its kind of irrelevent, both animes have weird and excentric caracters as the ones in charge of the school (uta no prince sama) / show biz (skip beat)

Both anime revolve around a group of boys at a music academy who train to become idols. The main difference is that UtaPri has a female lead while HSSM focuses on the boys. The boys in each have similar character designs and personalities.
report Recommended by tearbender
Both have a young girl surrounded by many men who has to live near them. Every boy has a different personality and the two series have the same general feeling with a quiet female protagonist.
report Recommended by renchan
Both are idol anime with a similar feel if you liked one you might like the other, however Idolidh7 has better characters and the protagonist isn't brain dead like the one in Uta no pri. But both are similar with the music and idol aspect
report Recommended by redhope
Both is about getting into the music industry. Difference is that Uta no Prince-sama is boy band(idol) while Kaikan Phrase is a band(rock band or something like that). Then there's also a composer in both. Kaikan Phrase has romance is the lovey dovey kind in the later half while uta no prince-sama romance is not obvious. More like other kind of reverse harem since it is from a game. Okay idk if i'm making sense but you'll understand me if you watch them both.

A bishounen cast of talented "Princes" surrounding one (female in UtaPri and male in Marginal Prince) character that is not all that special in comparison. Main characters in both series attend an elite school where, at first, they feel like they don't quite belong. Every character in both series has different personalities and backstories that are presented in one episode each. Also, they all tend to burst out singing in one point or another (while the singing is good in UtaPri, it's really just amusing in Marginal Prince because it's so bad). If you enjoyed Marginal Prince, I'm absolutely positive you'll enjoy UtaPri, but I can't  read more

Again, reverse harem anime. The only difference is that Neo Angelique has more action/fantasy

Both Uta no Prince-Sama Maji Love 1000% is similar to Gravitation in a way that the main genre are both about singing, while Shuichi wants yuki attention, Haruka wants to write a song for Hayato. Though, Uta no Prince-Sama Maji Love 1000% and gravitation is in a way different because Uta no prince sama has more characters and forth but for gravitation Shuichi just want to sing for yuki. If you like gravitation, you may end up liking uta no prince sama afterall they both have nice songs :D
report Recommended by yukified
both are reverse harems both are heavily influenced by boy bands and have the male characters break into song both feature a group of attractive men vying for the girls attention both are set in an academic setting Uto no Prince focuses more on the performance side, while Dance with the Devil just throws in the singing as an after thought. Both have very attractive males with a female protagonist that appears clueless. If you like Uta No Prince then you will probably like Dance wit the Devils.

Aikatsu is pretty much Uta no Princess Sama. Why? Because both anime take place in idol training school, and they are boarding schools. They also have a character who is interested in a music star. They also have characters who are music stars. Just flip the gender and they are exactly alike! So if you like Aikatsu, you will love Uta no Prince Sama!

both are about a group of teenagers who make an idol group together singing dancing friendship development but no love interest in love live
report Recommended by ShinXI
Well, both involves a girl in the middle of 6 guys..a reverse harem for all who don't know. But whereas Diabolik Lovers seems dark and evil, Uta no Prince-sama seems pure and light, well, if you don't mind the seiyuu of the guys singing the songs themselves, then go for it!! *their singing is not bad plus one of the seiyuu is Mamoru Miyano~

Haruka Nanami and Haruno Sayuri attend a prestigious school. One is for becoming idol/composer while the other a patisserie (baking) She meets bishes who fall in love with her. Whiether it be her music or cooking/baking. Also they meet their first friend who is always there for them. The principle/headmaster has their eye on her. Manly she has potential and such. Both anime has a strict rule of being in a relationship with said bishie. Both series is a reverse harem. One is full length and the other a five minute series.
report Recommended by AnimeFan500
Well, both of them are anime adaptations of Otome games XD and there are so many bishies XD...If you love reverse harem... You must see them!!!!
report Recommended by MichiFuu
Both series are about a group as they work to become idols. The IDOLM@STER is a harem whereas Uta no Prince-sama is a reverse harem.
report Recommended by XxOtakuChiceexX
They both have to do with music and idol groups, but their are a few differences. AKB0048 is set in the future where entertainment is banned and the group known as "AKB0048" put on guerrilla concerts for their fans. It is also an all girl group. On the other hand Uta no Prince is set in modern day with an all male group who songs are written by a single girl, and it just goes through their everyday lives. All and all they both have to do with music and idol groups. 100% recommend them both!! xx

/! For sure if you like one, you WILL like the other /! - Same romance ambiance, where you have a (naive) girl, who will charmed all boys. (bishonen) - Musical ambiance, just in Kin no Corda it's just instrumental ambiance, and Uta no prince it's songs, dances, compositions. - Same bishonen style : cute boy, friendly boy, cold guy, schizophrenic guy. - the heroine begin with novice skill, but she become better (the best). the Only DIFFERENCE : in Uta no prince you don't have the fantastic touch, the heroine have real skill, and not a fairy behind her. It's OBLIGED you like one, you will like  read more

Reverse harem, lots of bishes, although Miracle Train has a different girl each episode
report Recommended by st_owly
I know this may seem strange but both shows are in a way similar. There both based on VNs. They both have girls who are optimistic and positive and have differnt goals for school. The protagonist are always questioning there life. Both have a stereotypical yet unique harem. Both have amazing music and animation.

They are both music themed, and have idols in the series. They are also aimed towards girls, except Pri Para is aimed towards younger girls, while Uta no Prince Sama is aimed towards older ones. The only difference is that in Pri Para the main character is in grade school and the main character in Uta no Prince Sama the character is in high school. To wrap this up, Pri Para is pretty much a gender-bent version of Uta no Prince Sama and vice versa.

Both involve boy band with different personality boys. Singing and dancing Working together to be a great group
report Recommended by guardgirl
The main protagonist is a girl, and she is surrounded with wonderful characters. Both are music themed, and mainly focus on the character pursuing their dreams. The only main difference is that one is about becoming idols while the other is about figure skating.
report Recommended by TheAwesomeHannah
It is about the love of music. Characters in both animes are very passionate about music and want to become the best. They always try hard to achieve their goals and succeed. However, there arent any deep love relationships in Uta no Prince-sama anime even though male characters are secretly in love with the female heroine. Anyway, even tho the theme of the animes might not be so alike I cant help but think about Nana when I watch Uta no Prince-sama. They kind of have the same feeling ( for me ).
report Recommended by xcuppycakex
In both animes the characters form a band in the school, and discover there their passion for music (in Utapri is more evident even before they form the band, but with time this starts getting more and more clear). And the most important thing: amazing songs!
report Recommended by ren6
Both of the animes are about idols who want to be more known. The only difference is that UtaPri is a reverse harem
report Recommended by chimchimboop
Both stories are music anime which focus on male idols and have comedy elements. The main differences are that in UtaPri the main character is female, while in IMas the characters are all males (there are no romance elements); and in UtaPri the idols start their music experience at school, while in IMas the characters are directly employed by the music agency. If you like funny, colorful music anime with male idols, you'll probaly enjoy both these series.

- Both are really colorful - Both have some nice looking bishounen - Both have singing - Both are in a school setting I love both of these shows a lot!!! Binan koukou chikyuu bouei-bu love is a really great show, but it has magic elements, like a gender bender sailor moon type. I think the cheerful, colorful singing is the same in both shows- so if you liked Uta no Prince Sama, you're gonna like binan koukou chikyuu bouei-bu love!!! ( there's no romance in the series) (( this is my first recommendation- excuse the crude englsih))

They are both idol animes with contains more than one unit.

They are both shows about characters that aim to become stars and involve lots of music and dancing They both are pretty fun to watch (THE SONGS ARE SOO CATCHY THAT YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF SINGING AND DANCING in front of you laptop screen) Both get debuted, while one makes up their own group name and the other doesn't

A "light" anime with a group of guys trying to "accomplish" something. For Uta no prince-sama, it's music. But for Free, it's swimming. There are very few girls involved in the main plot other than the main character in Uta no Prince-sama. Also a good female fanbase.
report Recommended by InvisibleMelody
Reverse Harem The female leads seem a bit nervous and want to give up at first, but as the series goes on they become more determined. Both great quality, and have good story lines.

I think UtaPri is more light-hearted than Vampire Knight but they are both reverse harems set in a "special" school and have similar characters.
report Recommended by XxOtakuChiceexX
Both are music based anime, really sparkly, have enjoyable characters, funny in my opinion, and their style of music is similar in my opinion. Though in Show by Rock most performers play an instrument and are in a band while Uta Pri performers sing and dance. Show by Rock has no romance whatsoever while Uta pri has a light romantic touch to it but it's sequel focuses more on the music, so Uta Pri it gets better with the sequel.
report Recommended by animelover4ver
They're both reverse harem and the main girl both have similar personalties. They both have the main character wanting to acheive a goal. They both just seem very similar in my opinion. :3

They are both reversed-harems and, as it goes on, it shows how every boy falls in love with the girl. It's worth watching!!

Similar goofy humor, good looking unique cast, bright colours and artsy animation and great music. Main differences are that UtaPri have a girl lead while MGNB has 99% male characters and UtaPri have singing too.
