Its all about idols and thier ambition to perform aurora rising which many performed and lost their lives.
Differences between these two animes
1.this anime doesn't have romance
2.(have alot of main character)
3.both are indeed interesting
4.both include interesting plot story
there are 3 girls who dances and sing, but pretty rhythm is on ice. there's magic, though not as much as lilpri, and the dance art is similar. they also have animal guardians! the 3 girls also has their own color(purple, pink, and blue) and has 51 episodes
This anime is a reverse harem anime about a girl who loves fashion. She goes threw trials as she helps every girl unleash their potential of being beautiful. The main character has struggles but also a love interest.
If you've seen one, you'll like the other. Although Pretty Rhythm is newer, they are very similar because both share the same ideas about severity in the entertainment world. I consider Pretty Rhythm to be the new generation Glass Mask (Aurora Dream exclusively).
The reason is because Pretty Rhythm's backstory is exactly the same as Glass Mask but left unfinished (I haven't finished Glass Mask but I assume it ended properly), and the main characters are left to close that story. The reason why I like Glass Mask was because the previous generation of idols in Pretty Rhythm in which they mirror the Glass Mask characters, had a very brief story which let me down because it was so good it could've been its own anime. In that case, finding out about Glass Mask didn't disappoint and its still amazing even if I disregard Pretty Rhythm.
However Pretty Rhythm isn't any typical shoujo either. Although it has an entirely different story, it still somewhat shares the same hardships about entertainment and has even left me to tears; hence both animes are amazing. read more
These aren't your average girls. They come from the ocean
but it isn't long before they are idol-like figures in the world.
Both have young teen girls who are trying to find their way.
Both have great/catchy music and an interesting plot-line.
Also, the girls are all idols essentially just in this show.
If you liked this anime, exspecially the music, I highly
recommend this to be something to test the waters on.

In the show Pretty Rhythm there will be some 3D animated moments aswell as in

A clumsy girl having a dream of entering the stage and being able to do so on the first day, without any experience, because the girl supposed to do the performance, is unable to. The 'manager' decides that she is the perfect girl for the job, just by the experience of earlier, coincidentally running in to her on the street and seeing her 'do her thing' there. He overrules the female authority in order to get her to the stage, since she is not happy about having a newbie do the stage performance. Although she is a clumsy girl in the show, she is of course special and therefore she ends up pleasing the crowd anyway.
Both series have the same colour palette and the stages that the story revolves around, are both the most popular ones in that universe. There's a sort of magic existing in both worlds, although it is less obvious is Kaleido Star. Besides this, both series have costumes and 'legendary moves'. They both have a 'happy' feeling to them, although the girls of course encounter problems.
Kaleido star does not use CG however and in my opinion, it appeals to a more mature audience than Pretty Rhythm. This is however based from the first episode of Pretty Rhythm. read more
