It's about curing the male character from a , sort of, perverted illness. With MM the guy is turned on by being beat up by a girl and with Mayo Chiki the guy gets nosebleeds whenever he touches (or thinks of something perverted for) a girl.
Both have a main character that have a disease that is really bothering their life. In one point of both anime's someone try's to heal their disease. When I watched Mayo Chiki! it reminded me of MM! so much that I had to write a recommendation. Both are Harems.
Both series involves a main protagonist struggling to deal with girls in his life. In both anime, the MC has a "disease" that needs a cure with the help of the other characters.
Comedy, romance, drama, and school life also involved.
both have characters that deal with a fear of the opposite sex
both make S&M jokes
in both shows a sadist attempts to heal the main characters of their phobias
both are hilarious
both have the obligatory romance
-both male main characters in both anime have some kind of weird phobia or disease...
-then there is a girl in their same school promise to help him to cure their problems(in both shows)
-then there is this second girl who has a androphobia who fell in love with the boy(in both show)
Mayo chiki is more on romance while MM is more on ecchi..
both series are really fun!
Similar for these two series, follows a main male character, who have some kind of infection illness prior to the story. He soon gets some help from an advising female character, who will be able to cure him and gets back in shape. Though it can be emotionally or physically pain, embarrassment, absurd tactic cures or others.
Mayo Chiki follows a boy who has a nosebleed when being touched by girls and gets advised of a rich girl who likes to tease him. MM follows a boy who have some kind of weird disease when getting hit by girls and enjoys it, which he gets advised on a girl who has an extreme dangerous tsundere personality. read more
Both female characters have secrets that their love interest find out which serves as the main plot to both. This creates romantic tension between the lovers which make it very enjoyable to seem them go through all the humorous trials and problems to get into a relationship.
Both series are about a girl that needs to keep her service(Maids and Butlers) based job a secret,But then the main male character finds out so both series are about them trying to keep the girls secret
While Mayo-Chiki centers around a cute girl pretending to be a boy so she can continue her career as a butler, Maid-sama! centers around a cute girl who's a hardline Student Council President hiding her part-time job at a Maid Cafe from everyone at her high school. Both these girls have their secrets discovered by a mysterious/dysfunctional male classmate, and each series revolves around the ensuing romantic relationship that blossoms between them.
Almost exact same plot where the main character is stuck with keeping a secret about the a cross dresser's secret[In Mayo Chiki it's a butler dressing girl and in MariaHolic it's a crossdressing rich boy]. They almost have the same feel but I'm finding Maria Holic funnier, while Mayo Chika plays all the ecchi out
Very identical, Think of Mayo Chiki as a Maria Holic but reversed, for example the lead charaters gets nosebleed/Hives from the opposite sex/Mariya and Subaru both crossdressing and the main characters fines out that they crossdress exc. Mayo Chiki is not as quirky and random as Maria Holic. MAyo Chiki adheres more to male perceptive like fan service exc.
Same basic plot, but gender inverted. (Well, to an extent. If Mayo Chiki was completely gender inverted there would be mass public outcry.) Both have gender bending shenanigans, and a lead that has a phobia of the opposite sex. Mayo Chiki is more ecchi, and Maria Holic takes itself a little less seriously.
Both contains main characters who are afraid of opposite gender (Gynophobia from Mayo Chiki! and Androphobia from Working!!) and working with opposite sex in order to 'cure' it. Both also contains romance and comedy aspects. Both have male lead who were beaten quite a lot. And of course both wears glasses. But, there are more ecchi theme on Mayo Chiki! though.
They have exclamation points in their titles.
Also, they have exactly inverted situations with the main male and female characters.
In Working!!, it's an androphobic girl and a guy with crossdressing-related issues.
In Mayo Chiki!, it's a gynophobic guy and a girl with... crossdressing-related issues.
Both are slice-of-life/romance/comedy series where the characters and the humor are at least slightly absurd. Mayo Chiki! is a lot more ecchi and somewhat more cliche, while Working!! is a little more self-aware. Both are highly recommended, and you should especially give them a try if you aren't too sure based simply on their synopses.
Both series are about a butler who desires to protect their masters no matter what trouble he/she shall face. Both have a very slice-of-life feel but gradually develops the storyline at a good pace at the same time. The master of the two series share multiple similarities too, both being extremely rich and having some sort of disorder (Nagi being a NEET and Kanade a pervert) The two shows also have misfortunate butlers getting into amusing situations that are a pleasure to watch.
One guy surrounded by a bunch of cute girls. You get the idea.
Both of these series are considered romantic comedies with a lot of comedy, drama, and yes, the r for romance.
There is also character development and background involving characters of both series as the episodes progresses. Although both series' story is different, they both revolve around the protagonist trying to solve an issue. One trying to repay back a debt while the other is trying to get rid of his gynophobia.
Similar setting in a way
Both animes about butlers serving their masters
Both anime's butlers are good fighters
Hayate in Hayate no Gotoku is a male and Subaru is a female, pretending to be a male
If you've watched and liked Hayate, you will probably like Mayo Chiki too and Vice Versa.
Has a similar feel to it. The harem theme is the same. Also the main character both have unusual disease(?) The guy is allergic to cats like how jirou is allergic to girls(?). They both have love/comedy too.
In both, the main character has some sort of unusual disease (alergy to cats that grows to extreme measure/alergy to girls). In way tu cure his dissease, he meets girls that falls in love with him. Both are romantic comedies.
Two harem rom-coms in which the male protagonist, through a fateful encounter surrounded by peculiar circumstances, embarks on a journey of sorts in which he comes to notice the various girls with quirky personalities around him. Additionally, he is slapped with a certain odd disability that is a double-edged sword; while working through it creates wonderful opportunities with said girls, it also manages to get in the way of things.
But that's not all. Sharing the same director, it comes as no surprise that the shows' style of approach towards the genre has a similar feel to them. The plot in each series takes full advantage of the possibilities presented by MC's "disease" - expect hilarious setups, over-the-top reactions and zany situations with plenty of slapstick - the focus on their familiar brand of light-hearted comedy to drive the interactions between characters is the name of the game here. The romance isn't unfulfilling either; the shows' ability to insert heartfelt moments throughout the course of the episodes, as the protagonist's relationships with the cast of his harem are explored, don't go unnoticed.
Nyan Koi! is filled with tons of cat-themed mischief, while Mayo Chiki! has that touch of ecchi flavour. Why not give the other a try? After all, with one of my all-time favourite seiyuu, the ultra-talented, super cute-sounding Yuka Iguchi at the helm in both anime, what more could you ask for? read more
I'm surprised know one recommended this one. Two ordinary guys find out the secret of a high class family and eventually become friends with the girl and her maids or butler. Both shows has loads of comedy and humor.
Somewhat quiet glasses guy discovers the popular girl's secret, get closer etc. Romance, comedy etc. Similar "y u hang wit kewl gurl" scene where it seems the entire school gets mad and chases guy is what got me.
Both Male MC learns a secret from Female MC, which he protects (voluntarily in Nogizaka/forced to in Mayo Chiki). In the process, they develop some romance. Both Female MC have a huge following/cult and are well-known inside school and out. Only difference is in Mayo Chiki, Female MC acts tsundere-ish while in Nogizaka, Female MC is timid/shy.
haah these 2 shows just look exreamly similar their characters loko almost exactly alike the 2 girls also look alike with the same hair color. in my point of veiw the main guy is similar in ways in both they both have sercreats that they try to hide from each other and cant expose it to the world easily
both about an orange haired girl and a blue haired boy.. the girl is super populer.. one of them have a problem and the other character is trying to solve this problem.. both are comedy.. and there are few scenes with the exact same point.. and the guy desovers the girls secret in the first few episode and always tryes to hide it from others..
Both involve guys who want to avoid romance.
Both involve girls coming into guys' lives.
Both have the same school, comedy, harem, and romance genres.
Guy in one anime is gynophobic, while guy in the other anime he is simply too busy for romance.
Guy in one anime is a very good student while guy in the other anime he is just an average student.
The guy in one anime is centered around one girl, while the other guy in the other anime has all his harem members competing for his affection.
- both Comedy, School & Romance genre'd anime
- both main male characters dislikes girls because of their personal reasons
- story is almost similar but, oreshura has a much serious vibe than mayo chiki
- both anime has few funny parts
- makes you want to watch more
Both shows have a harem style plot (or lack thereof) and have girls pretending to be butlers. There is also a similarity between Saikyou Tomomi and Kanade Suzutsuki in that they are both "S" type character who are out to ruin the protagonist's day. Though the comedies differ in setting and character backgrounds, the style are somewhat similar.
These anime's feature fairly pleasant males who are regularly misstreated by close females and have thus developed an 'allergy' to girls.
Unfortunately; they have no choice but to be around females.
Both are loaded with ecchi related missundersandings were a girl has more-or-less, indirectly set-up a scene to make the male to witness her exposed, only for him to then get attacked for being a pervert.
Mayo' epsiode one even re-cycled a Girl's Bravo scene (also episode one); girl calls guy a pervert and punches him after he walks in on her in the bathroom - dispite the fact that she's in his house, using his bathroom without letting him know she was even present.
If the above does it for you, then go for it and enjoy. ;) read more
Romantic-comedy-harem with very little plot.
Extremely similar character designs and art (notably, Anastasia and Usami, Gin and Subaru).
Both look very good and deliver nicely on fanservice and relatively lowbrow comedy.
Oregairu and MayoChiki are both romcoms that have weird guy-girl relationships. The plot flow goes without saying is also alike, The guy has trouble socializing with girls due to some trauma, so the girl offers to help him cure this.
- Male main character keeping secret for female lead
- Relationship between the two keeping the secret
- Male lead has a 'weakness' [Gynophobia vs. Inability to keep secrets]
- Romantic comedy
- Jitsu wa is fantasy/supernatural whereas mayo chiki isn't
- Mc is keeping secret willingly in Jitsu wa
Conflict of the show involves keeping the secret the females have. Similar cookie cutter characters, will they/will they not type of show.
both shows are comedic heavy, similar tropes; makes for decent popcorn flick on a hard day of work
In NHK ni Youkoso the main charcter is Satou Tatsuhiro, who is being helped to recover from a hikikomori lifestyle. In Mayo Chiki the main character is Kinjiro Sakamachi who people are trying to help his gynophobia (fear of women)...in other words both protagonists are getting help for some sort of disorder/disease.
Konoe and Sebastian are certainly based on the same archetype, and despite being in a completely different genre, both series have a similar feel/sense of humor. Mayo Chiki is basically a gender-swapped Black Butler made in the ecchi-harem genre, and Black Butler is what you would expect Mayo-Chiki to be if it wasn't so focused on the ecchi. That said, Black Butler is much darker between the comedy.
Also, to conform with the apparent standard, both have a butler in a suit serving someone with weird eyes!
When watching fate.stay night I had this jarring feeling of deja-vu, everytime I heard "shirou" I wondered where did I hear that before? Why do these characters look so familiar.
Mayo Chiki and fate/stay night have almost the exact same character types, character relations and interactions, heck the names even sound the same.
If you enjoyed Mayo Chiki and want a better plot, watch fate.
If you enjoyed Fate and want some nonsense unrelated to the nasuverse, pick up mayochiki
If you enjoyed Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Next's style of harem storytelling, Mayo Chiki's might appeal to you. I feel that both of them have managed to utilise the right mixture of drama and their respective brand of exceptional, well-timed comedy to the bring out their respective harem's full potential. There is a nice seinen feel to some of the conflicts in each. The romance in both is also built up in a more mature fashion compared to certain other harems, in a sense - the attraction feels more genuine, and girls aren't just throwing themselves onto the MC.
Other features you might find enjoyable between both: high quality character designs/art, characters with a twisted sense of perverted humour (that's actually funny!), Yuka Iguchi going absolutely batshit insane in her voice acting, as well as adorable imouto action (both done by KANA HANAZAWA no less, of course it had to be her) and OP/EDs performed by the harem cast. Also, something *else* is strikingly similar...
However, there is one significant difference between them. Watch to find out! (Moreso from Haganai -> Mayo Chiki than vice versa) read more
Both series features a protagonist who gets involved with other characters in the series of conflicting personalities.
Two of the main female protagonist in the both series have similar personalities in that they are dominant and in control of most situations as well as being quite mischievous.
Both series have fan-service mixed in with comedy, drama, and a little romance later on.
In both those school love comedies, there is a very special relation between the two protagonists (Ryuuji/Taiga and Jirou/Konoe), with ups and downs, but evident.
Also Ami and Kanade (both played by Kitamura Eri) are very similar characters.
These two are very different in concept, but they both have an extremely similar humor, centered around absurd scenarios, ecchi comedy, and character traits and personalities. They also share the theme of being largely school-based, but having many scenes that take place outside of school, as well. The male leads of both are quite different, but similar in the sense that they are misunderstood and strive to be normal, while being surrounded by strange females, who they feel the need to protect. Not to mention, both male protagonists have odd and overbearing little sisters with strong attachments to their brothers.
Both have a little romance
Both have a little harem in it
- 5 girls for haganai and 5 girls for Mayo Chiki that are always near the Main Male Character
Both talks about making friends
Both has a pinch of comedy in it
For reasons of fate, they gathered them together:
A girl / boy who is afraid of being with a person of the opposite sex who dresses as if he were of the same sex.
Both will get to know each other, discovering and gradually eliminating their weaknesses, insecurities that prevent them from being together.
For those who prefer a Harem but simple and ther wasn't so much conflit ,this is what you want to watch, if you search for a slice of life this also a nice anime and it's was very fun to watch, but there is the big different , it's art of anime is good but Sora No Otoshimono was not very nice.
I find these shows not that similar by plot, but by the characters. Well except the dude in Kotoura-san. (He's a total pervert). Either way Konoe and Kotoura seem to be very similar, they are the quiet and sensitive type. Also there is comedy. In the show Kotoura seems to be very lonely, because of her ability to read minds and in Mayo Chiki! Konoe dresses like a man and in my opinion is just left alone because no one actualy tries to be friends with her. If you liked Kotoura-san, you have to watch Mayo Chiki!
Both animes are romcoms, but Mayo Chiki focuses more on the "romance" part and has a lot more emphasis on slowly building upon a story.
If you like romcoms in general, you'll enjoy Mayo Chiki a lot. (it's my personal favorite)
both have the same maid idea and a little of ecchi., in kore ga watashi... the two sisters ran away from home só they found a job as maids on a mansion of a kid who hes parents just died.,., in mayo chiki the main character discovers the identity of the bulter só she become his maid,.,.,
Both of these shows revolve around the interesting relationship between the main characters. In Mayo Chiki, the main character stumbles across a secret and gets tied up into the schemes of his sadistic classmate (though that is only the bare bones spoiler free plot summary). On the other hand, Ookami Shoujo also has the sadistic type character in a commanding position over a girl who shares a harmful secret (for her) with him.
-Both are about relationships born from shared secrets
-Both have the sadistic type character
-Both share at least some element of romance
-Both maintain a comedic and light atmosphere
-Both are about high school relationships
Main protagonists are ordinary school students. One day they suddenly meet cute girl and get involved with her (in Mayo Chiki! they share secret and in Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou their live in same house). At first they are not getting along, girls don't like main protagonists. But in time they experience a lot of unexpected events and their relationship are developing and they falling in love in with each other.
So you like comedy-romance Anime about high schoolers with a lot comedy when their relationship are developing, I strongly recommend this Anime,
In both anime, the main character is somehow allergic to the female protagonist, in Mayo's case a nosebleed when in contact with girls, in Omamori's case the main character is allergic to cats( Guess what creature the main female character can turn into)
They are both Ecchi, comedy, romance, harem and rated R+
Basically, they are very similar, but they are AVERAGE in my opinion.
Mayo chiki is more school oriented, while Omamori himari is more supernatural oriented.
Both genres involves school, shuojo, romance and harem.
Both involves chiquitas who came into the muchacho's life and started messing with it.
Both chiquitas are superior than the muchacho.
Both involves another chiquita who is a tease.
Both muchachos always had their asses kicked by the chiquita.
And both muchachos have to watch-out in getting on the chiquita's bad side.
In HA the muchacho was compelled to enter into a partnership with the chiquita co'z the chiquita's constant pestering, while in MC the muchacho is force to accept the chiquita in his life because he discovered her secret and if he doesn't kept his trap shut, it will cost him his life.
In MC the chiquita works for another chiquita who is a tease, while in HA the chiquita is freelance.
In HA the muchacho has a childhood friend who he's also involve with (reluctantly of course), while in MC, the muchacho has a sister and it is yet to know if his sister has a brother complex towards him.
HA has an extra, action, magic, supernatural genre in it, while in MC only has comedy as its extra genre and possibly martial arts and ecchi as well.
Both about a physically resilient main character, dealing with various girls with somewhat typical anime personalities. Both anime don't really take themselves too seriously, and this makes them easy to watch, and very enjoyable, just don't expect a story that makes complete sense.
Plenty of laughs to be had indeed...
Protective, strong-willed, fairly sensible, understated girls take on the role of 'boys', harbouring these stated traits.
It's fair to say these girls are taken seriously and respected as boys, more so then they would as girls with the above traits; they come across as sensible and nobel, in favour of icequeens.
The leading females have both had a hard time in the past and both are egar to protect a 'lady'.
Both 'serving' females have their fangirls.
Mayo Chiki! is a comedy based series; the type of typical 21st century comedy we're use to seeing, involving; violent girls, victum guy and unessessary fanservice, whilst classic anime Revolutionary Girl Utena has a more melo-drama, serious tone with a element of mysterious. read more
Well! Full Metal Panic and Mayo Chiki aren't too too similar but if you like the fact that someone will do anything to protect another person than this is another good anime for you! On one hand we have a military guy doing the extreme to protect a girl. On the other hand we have a cross dressing butler that will do anything to please and protect their master. Both have fighting but Mayo Chiki is more for the perverted mind and Full Metal Panic is more for the fighting/funny type.
both have dumb main male character who is not aware of girls feelings for him .
both have very strong girls .
both have Action, Ecchi, Martial Arts, School, Harem.
both have characters who have males.
both were released in 2011 [summer and fall].
both have same feeling watching them and are almost same .
both the male characters look weak and dumb but sometimes both anime main male character show the cool side and make girls fall for him !
both the main male characters seen beaten up by girls.
Watching Chun2byou now, I couldn't help but get the same feeling I got from watching Mayo Chiki! Both of these animes have the MC taking care of a girl in their class with some sort of problem. Chaos, misunderstandings and insane hilarity ensues. If you liked one, you will certainly like the other.
Kirihime and Kanade share many interesting qualities such as their wealth, their clever comebacks, their level-headness, and even their penchant for sadistic, although not really mean-spirited, encounters.
If you think someone like Kanade from Mayo Chiki would make an interesting female lead, then check out Inuhasa. Likewise, if you can't get enough of Kirihime, then you should give Mayo Chiki a try.
Both shows have the common theme of service in them(Butlers and Body guards). Both are romantic comedies where the Charcthers have a secret they must keep hidden. Both are romantic comedies where the Charcthers have a secret they must keep hidden. Both female masters act kind of the same where they are rude on the outside but secretly a nice person, and both are rich. But in Mayo Chiki the story focuses on someone who finds out the secret and is much more of a comdey while I Inu x Boku the story focuses on they master and we body guard and has more romance.
The male lead, Mamoru in Kage kara Mamoru has a secret, same as the main female, Subaru in Mayo Chiki. The male leads in both shows, Mamoru and Kinjirou are also surrounded by females, in a harem. Both anime are comedy, romance and school.
Minami-ke and Mayo Chiki positively express both comedy and relationships. These anime share very similar genres and energetic characters. Along with that, they are both fairly light-hearted comedies with more emphasise on comedy.
